The new Catherine Pooler release is coming soon and it has some great new products in it! More about that below!
How about some sneak peeks while we wait?
There is a great new staple included in this release called Picture Frame Dies and I felt like they would make wonderful shaped cards & tags!
I started the card by taking scrap paper strips that I had cut to size and then adhered them to thin computer paper so it wasn't too bulky to cut through. I used the new Picture Frame Dies to cut out the shape of both the tag & card with the rainbow paper. I also cut out two of the larger size in that die size with white cardstock. To make the base for the card, I folded a piece of white cardstock in half and then die cut both pieces at the same time. The key is to leave the die partially above the top of the fold so that it doesn't cut the fold (as shown below). Then, attach your front panel to it. I like to attach the panel to the side that shows the "bad side" of the die cut, basically the side that is rougher because it embosses the cuts you've made on your cutting pad previously if that makes sense. Here are some pictures to help you see the process.

After I had cut the two Picture Frame Die panels I cut a smaller one out of white cardstock to stamp the rainbow and sentiment on. I stamped the sentiment first using the new So Happy Sentiments Stamp Set & then used the Geo Curves Stamp Set to create the rainbow using Party Dress, Coral Cabana, Sauna, Lime Rickey & Aquatini. If you visit my blog tomorrow morning I will have a video up that shows how to use that set to make an easy rainbow! I popped all of the layers up with dimensional tape & then added some Crater Lake Sequins to finish the card off.
I also used a glitter pen to add a touch of shimmer to the rainbow and tied some white twine between the two layers.
For the tag I did exactly the same thing as I did for the card only I didn't, of course, add the card base. I also punched a hole in the top of the tag so I could tie it onto my gift bag.
