Cheers to Many More Years Card + Shaker Tag

DSC_5564

Hi!! Today I am sharing a card and matching shaker tag with a birthday theme featuring products from Lil' Inker Designs.

Cheers to Many More Years Card

DSC_5562

For this card I used one of the sentiment stamps from Hand Drawn Happiness to create the black & white background.  I repeatedly stamped the sentiment on my white card panel.  I then used the rectangle from the Shaker Tag Die Set to die cut the rainbow panel (more on that later) and then stamped the same sentiment on that piece and adhered with dimensional tape.  I added a few glittery enamel dots around the tag for emphasis.

Just a Little Gift for You Tag

DSC_5557

When I die cut the rectangle piece for the card above, that was actually the inside piece that was left over after die cutting this shaker tag (I cut it twice).  So it was a 2 for 1!  I used both dies from the Shaker Tag Die Set to make this tag.  I then embossed the sentiment from the Hand Drawn Happiness stamp set on a piece of acetate and then attached it to the back of the tag to create a shaker.  Now all I have to do is attach the tag to a gift and not only do I have a nice card but a tag to decorate the package as well!

Candy Corn Shaker

Jen Carter Thankful Candy Corn Shaker 2

It's the time for Fall candy and candy corn has made appearances in stores.  We're just under a week away from Halloween and I thought it was an appropriate time to share this candy corn shaker card I made.  The candy corn is die cut with the Giant Candy Corn die by Frantic Stamper.  I backed each section with the corresponding cardstock color and turned it into a shaker, adding sequins.  The sentiment is die cut with the Elegant Thankful die. I stamped the paper with the Grunge Crosshatch Background stamp to add some texture.  The yellow frame was die cut with one of the Pinprick Rectangle dies.

Lil' Inker Designs September Release: Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Release!  All of the products being shown today are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Hoffman's blog.

Today I have 2 Halloween themed cards to share using the new A Haunting We Will Go StampsA Haunting We Will Go Dies, Ghost Shaker Die Set, You've Been BOOed Stamps & Dies BundleCover Up Die: Stitched Harlequin & FaBooLous Stamp Set.

Trick or Treat with Frankenlion
The new set A Haunting We Will Go has the cutest little animals all dressed up for Halloween.

Jen Carter Hautning Frankenstine Harlequin 1 wm

I die cut the new Cover Up Die: Stitched Harlequin on purple cardstock and then used the On the Diagonal die to create a stitched angle.  On top of that I took a piece of black & white dotted paper and swiped Twisted Citron & Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks over the top.  I stamped the Trick or Treat sentiment from the FaBooLous Stamp Set.  I die cut Frankenlion from the A Haunting We Will Go Dies and then stamped the coordinating image from the A Haunting We Will Go Stamp Set.  The image was colored with copics and then I used Crushed Grape Nuvo Drops on the nose & tail for some dimension and shine.

BOO Shaker
The new Ghost Shaker Die Set makes making Halloween shaker cards a breeze.

Jen Carter You've Been Boo'd Ghost Shaker 1 wm

I started by die cutting the BOO with the You've Been BOOed Stamps & Dies Bundle.  I stamped the coordinating letters in Flirty Fuchsia, Orange Twist & black Inks.  For the shaker I cut the background ghost from glitter white cardstock using the Ghost Shaker Die Set and then cut the black outline with black glitter cardstock.  I attached a couple of Eye Enamel Dots on top of the shaker.  This is all adhered onto layers that have been die cut using the Stitched Mats: Rectangles die set.

Happy Birthday Shaker

Jen Carter Happy Bday Circle Confetti Streamers 1

Happy Birthday to You Shaker

Hello!  I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card using Frantic Stamper's Reverse Cut Happy Birthday Circle die.  After die cutting the circle into a panel that I had die cut using Elementals #14: Scalloped Square Basics I put the shaker together.  I wanted it to look like a balloon so I snipped off a tail piece from a die cut from the Big Balloons die set.  I then used one of the streamers from the Streamers Die set for the balloon string.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

For a Great Teacher Shaker Card

School's out for the summer here but if you are looking for ideas for teacher cards, I have one to share today.

Jen Carter Apple Eye Shaker Teacher 2

This is a fun teacher shaker card.  I started with the background which was die cut with the Quilted Swirl Stitched Pattern Die.  I love the way that that die stitches the pattern into the cardstock!  For my shaker panel I die cut the panel with the Apple Shaker Die and then die cut the square panel with the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Squares die.

Jen Carter Apple Eye Shaker Teacher 1 closeup

On the acetate that holds the shaker sequins in, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Apple of My Eye Stamp Set.  I also added the stem and leaf on to the top of the apple. Those pieces are also included in the Apple Shaker Die set.

Thank you so much for visiting!  Have a great summer!

Believe.

My mom's word of the year (every year) is "believe".  It means something special to her (and to me). I'll share a little more about that later.  But every time I get something that says "believe" in my papercrafting supplies I get excited.  And the new Brush Script Word Dies from Lil' Inker Design really got their work out when I started playing with them because one of the words in that set is believe.

Jen Carter Believe Brush Script Shaker 3

For this card I first stamped my gray background with snowflakes from the Rustic Christmas Stamps (which I think I've mentioned a few times that I really, really like this set!) and then embossed them with white embossing powder.  I cut out a little window from the bottom of the panel and then used the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangle dies to make a frame.

Jen Carter Believe Brush Script Shaker Closeup

I put lots of colorful glitter in the box for my shaker and I really like how some of it sticks to the acetate window!  And of course there is that beautiful Believe from the Brush Script Word Dies!  Ahhhhh!  Love that font!  I also added a darling little bow die cut from the paper that my card is matted on using the Mini Bow Die.

Now for the reason why the word believe is so special.  Some of you may have guessed that it is special because of the magic of Christmas.  Well, yes and no.  The magic is not from Santa and the fun times that he brings to Christmas but the "magic" is really from what started at the manger and what was finished on the cross.  What started at the manger?  The birth of our Savior, Jesus.  The reason that the word believe is so special to my mom, and to my family, is that it represents the work that was completed on the cross: the gift of salvation to everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ.   That's it.  Salvation = believing.  And that is why that word means so much to our family.

I'll leave you with one of the most well known verses in the Bible.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life."  John 3:16

Happy Christmas season to you and your family!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #386

Welcome to the next Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #386!  This week the challenge is to use the provided color scheme (shown below) on your card or project.  Our sponsor this week and the prize is from Kitty Bee Designs.  All of the details, including prize information, can be found on the Cupcakes Inspiration blog.  I hope you'll play along!

CIC386 Jen Carter Owl

For my card I used the adorable Kawaii Good Night Owl Digital Stamp.  I love owls so I thought this image was so cute!  I colored the image with copics and cut the circle out of my mint & mousse patterned paper with a dual Stitched Circle Die to make a window for a shaker.  I die cut a banner and stamped the Sweet Baby Sentiment onto with a gray/steel ink.

CIC386 Jen Carter Owl Front

For the confetti I wanted to use stars but didn't have any precut so I used a couple of dies from Lil' Inker to create the confetti, Starry Sky Die & Cloudy Sky Die, that I die cut out of glitter paper.

I hope you'll join us this week for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #386!  Thanks for stopping by!

Out of this World! Shaker Card

Good morning!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Are you tired of the seeing the rocket cards yet?  I hope note, because I still have several to share!

For today's card I used the rocket to make a shaker card!

Jen Carter XOXO Rocket Front

I started by die cutting the rocket from the Rocket Launch die set from patterned paper.  Then, I die cut it a second time using fun foam that already had adhesive on it.  I added my clear window and adhered the layers together, then added my sequins.  For the dots on the front I used pink enamel dots.

Jen Carter XOXO Rocket Closeup

For the clouds at the bottom, I used two of the Stitched Cloud Edgers dies and I die cut a sheet of vellum several times and layered them on top of each other.  I love how this turned out and how you can still see the patterned paper in the background.

The sentiment is from the Sentiments from Space clear stamp set that I am over the moon (pun intended!!) about!!

I'm linking this card up to the Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge #118 (I turned the sketch upside down).

I'm also linking up to the CASology blog with the theme of "Clear".  I used clear cardstock to make my rocket's shaker window!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy your day!

Happy Boss's Day

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather!  It has been beautiful here but like it is in Kansas, it is up and down temperature wise a lot. My daughter and I have a little bit of a struggle some mornings on clothing choices because while it may be warmer in the afternoon, mornings can be quite cool.  She sure has her own mind on what she wants to wear!  Do you have that at your house? :)

In the office we celebrated Boss's day a little early since we have Friday off at school.  I was privileged to make the card for this occasion that I put together last week.  The cake that was being made was going to be Fall themed with leaves and so I made a "Fallish", of sorts, card to go along with the theme.  For some reason though, I doubt very much that the leaves on the cake will be pink, lol!

Jen Carter Boss's Day Celebrate Shaker front

I started by creating the dark brown & white striped piece by using one of the fun new leaf shape dies from Lil' Inker Designs called Leaf Love.  Oh how I LOVE the shape of this leaf!

Jen Carter Boss's Day Celebrate Shaker Closeup

After I attached the transparent paper to the back of the leaf piece and filled it with fall colored sequins, I backed it with a piece of patterned paper slightly larger than the leaf panel. I tied the entire panel with some antique thread.

The sentiment is so pretty and comes from the Just Sayin' Stamps.  I embossed it with Brown Sugar Zing Embossing Powder.   The whole panel is attached to the word patterned paper panel that I cut out with the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles die.

Thanks for visiting today!

Lil' Inker Designs September Release Day 2

Hello again and welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Release!  All of the products being shown today are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Lisa's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

You might have seen this next card if you watched the video I shared yesterday.

Jen Carter Lattice Balloon Shaker 15 wm

I used the left over confetti from the Wrapper's Delight: Lattice die cards I shared yesterday to make a shaker card!  Why not right?  The balloon string is from Birthday Balloons Greetings Stamps & the sentiment is from the Teacher Talk stamps.

Jen Carter Lattice Balloon Shaker Closeup 11

I used pre-made shaker card pouches which made this super easy!  I didn't even have to use foam tape!  I found that the third largest Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Circles cut the perfect opening for these pouches AND you get the dual stitching on the outside too!  WIN, WIN!!  I used one of the balloon dies from the Birthday Balloons Greetings dies to cut the little tab for the balloon.  Perfect size!  I inserted the confetti into the pouch and adhered (it is self adhesive) between the cardstock layers.

Jen Carter Split Hearts Awesome 11 wm

For my second card I used the new Teacher Talk Stamps to create the split hearts.  I stamped them randomly over my page, leaving space for my sentiment.  I love how this card turned out (minus the white paint on the side from my daughter's art project)! :)  I used the 1/2 heart die from the Apple Pieces die set to die cut some glittery paper and adhere in a couple places on my card.  It's subtle but makes a huge difference on the card!

The "thanks" is die cut with the previously released Thanks Word Die & I used the fun Dip Dyed Ombre Paper Pad with it.  I love how it looks!  That paper is currently out of stock, but you can put your name on a list to be notified when it comes back in stock!  The "you're awesome" sentiment is also from the Teacher Talk Stamp set.
There's plenty more inspiration to see using these sets today!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Maureen's blog!  To see ALL of the new release items & to shop now, click here!
