PTI Year 2013

I have another card to share for PTI's Anniversary.  This one is celebrating stamps released in 2013.

Jen Carter City Scape PTI Hello

I loved this City Scene stamp set and was fortunate enough to be able to borrow it from a friend recently to put this card together.  I realized how detailed this set was as I started to stamp.  It was a lot of work but I like how it turned out!  The stitched mat is from this die set from Lil' Inker Designs.

Hugs

Jen Carter Spiral Bouquet Hugs 1

I have one more card for the PTI Celebration.  This one using the set Spiral Bouquet.  I stamped the flowers on a piece of white cardstock and adhered it to a small panel that I also attached a die cut hugs on from the Big Hugs die set.  The patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Love & Adore paper pack.

Thanks for visiting!

Thank you Berry Much!

Hello! I wanted to play along a little with PTI's 10th Anniversary challenges.  This challenge was to use a set released during PTI's first year in business.  I chose Green Thumb which is the set that made me fall in love with PTI!  I loved all of the separate elements that the set had and how easy it made stamping the different pieces to an image with different colored inks.

Jen Carter Green Thumb Thanks 2

I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the strawberries on the stamp and then sprayed the stamp with a fine mist of water before stamping on watercolor paper.  The frame is die cut with the A2 Noted die set.  And the cute little frame is from the Tag Sale #10 die.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs & Prayers

Jen Carter Painted Prayers
I recently acquired the PTI Painted Petals Anniversary Set and today was the day I got to try it out.  It took me a few times to get the colors right, but I had a great time playing around with all of the color combinations.  After I stamped all of the flowers & leaves from the PTI Painted Petals stamp set, I die cut a piece of vellum with the Lil' Inker Designs Silly Stitched die.  I then embossed the black sentiment on the vellum and then attached the flowers.  I die cut the prayers with ombre paper from the Hero Arts Prayers set.

I based my color scheme on the Cupcakes Inspirations Challenge #362.

Thank you for joining me today!  I hope you have a great day!

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above, including lots of PTI!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

Welcome to the June Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  When I saw the photo for this month's inspiration, I knew right away I wanted to play along!

Jen Carter PTI June Peaches Thanks Closeup

There are flowers in the inspiration photo, but I thought immediately of the peaches in Betsy's new Make It Market Mini Kit.   I thought that their ripe, juicy color would be perfect for the colors in the photo.

Aren't those shoes so cute?

Jen Carter PTI June Peaches Thanks

I used the Cover Plate: Stripes Horizontal die to cut the stripes.  It seemed like the perfect backdrop for the peaches.  I added in the "Thanks" die included in the kit and cut three of them to stack on top of each other.  I sprayed the top peach with a little glimmer mist and used a clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen on the peaches in a few key areas but it is hard to see in the photo.  To finish the card off, I added in a few dark gray enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, Rustic Cream, Terra Cotta Tile
Ink: PTI Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse; Fresh Ink Coral Melon; Mama Elephant Fern; Avery Elle Papaya

Alleluia! Up From the Grave He Arose!

Happy Easter!  This is such a meaningful time of the year to me.  I love celebrating the week that Jesus died for me and then rose the third day.  It's such an important day in the Christian faith and it gives me so much hope!

With this on my heart this week, I wanted to share a few cards I made recently for this Easter holiday.

Jen Carter Alleluia Crosses

This first one is my favorite.  I used the crosses dies from Frantic Stamper called Crosses on the Hill Edger.  I knew when I saw this die that I needed to add it to my collection.  It reminds me each time I see it of the greatest sacrifice ever made.  Behind the crosses I layered the Blue Skies Rays die from PTI.  The sentiment is also from PTI called Easter Alleluias.

Jen Carter My Redeemer Lives

This last card uses many of the same products as on the card above, just in a different way.  I added in the Blue Skies Cover Plate from PTI for the embossed clouds background & Watercolor Wonder paper.

I am entering this in the Addicted to Stamps Holiday Challenge.

I usually share a video of a meaningful song at Christmas & Easter and this time I wanted to share Forever by Kari Jobe.  I hope you enjoy it and it blesses you on this Easter day!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello!  Today I am joining in on the Spring Coffee Lovers blog hop!  I love a good coffee...well not a BLACK coffee.  My coffee of choice is a White Peppermint Mocha and that is what I drink year round, either hot or cold!  Yum!!  So in honor of my favorite hot drink, I created this card keeping in theme with spring.

Jen Carter Spring Coffee 1

My background was created with the beautiful Quilted Stitched Pattern die from Lil' Inker Designs.  Oh how I LOVE that die!  I thought that the swirls were perfect for the coffee theme. The sentiment is from Lil' Inker too and is from the Coffee Cozy stamp set.  The coffee cups & the puff of heart steam are from PTI's Warm Happiness & Warm Happiness Too sets.  I embossed the heart with Zing Gold Glitter Embossing Powder (very cool stuff) onto PTI's Sheer Basic Vellum
If you'd like to play along or if you'd like to see the other cards that were made for this blog hop, visit the Coffee Lovers Cardmakers blog!

I'm also entering this card in the Anything Goes challenges at Simon Says Stamp Monday & The Pink Elephant.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Sending Hugs!

Hey everyone! I'm stopping in with an entry for PTI's 8th Anniversary Challenge to use a stamp set that hasn't seen ink yet.

Jen Carter PTI Hugs

I love this Big Hugs stamp set from Papertrey Ink!  This card would be perfect to send as an encouragement card or even as a sympathy card.  I started by die cutting the "Hugs" from Pink Paislee's Bella Rouge patterned paper.  I love this patterned paper pack!

Jen Carter PTI Hugs Closeup

I then stamped the sentiment around the die cut.

Super, super simple!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Hey everyone!  I am just popping in real quick today to share a card for the PTI September Blog Hop.

PTI Sept Blog Hop

I loved the inspiration photo that Nichole gave us this month.  It was gorgeous!  I used the colors from the photo as the inspiration for this card.

PTI Sept Blog Hop Angle

I knew when I saw the silver bucket that I had to use silver embossing powder on my card!  It was very hard to capture on camera, but I love the way it shines!  I used the new LID Stitched Mats Rounded Rectangles for my frames.  It's hard to see but I also scored two lines on the left side of my card base with my Scor-pal.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the card!  You can see all of the other participants on Nichole's blog.

Happy Wedding Day!

**Check out my stamps for sale listed in the tab at the top!**

Today I get to go to a wedding...in a barn!  I'm so excited!  Here it is July, usually scorching hot and the temps for the wedding tonight are going to be in the lower 80's to mid 70's!  Couldn't have asked for a better evening for a July wedding in Kansas!

Bubble Wedding

This is the card I made for the wedding.  Her main color is aqua/turquoise (according to my husband who is officiating, so we'll see how close he was)!  I couldn't wait to put the little "bubble" stamps to use from the new PTI Make it Market kit.  I found someone who was willing to part with just the little $5 set and dies from the kit!  Win, win!!

Bubble Wedding closeup

I used the Simon Says Stamp "happy" die and cut it out of gold cardstock.  The sentiment is from PTI's Embellished Elegance stamp set.

I am entering this over at the Curtain Call Anything Goes Challenge to celebrate their one year birthday!

And I'm also entering this at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Spots & Dots!

Thanks for visiting!

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Hey everyone!  I am coming in here at the last minute to add a card for the PTI June Blog Hop Challenge.  I loved the theme this month which was to create a card based on either the inspiration photo, sketch or color combo.  I loved them all but chose to work with the inspiration photo.

Enjoy Butterfly Side

I loved the frames in the photo and so that is where I went with this card.  Although there was a lot of color in the photo, there was also a lot of white which I really liked.  I stamped my background frames with a Framed Out set and Tiny Tags.  They were small enough to make my frames but not overwhelm the background and make it too distracting.

Enjoy Butterfly Closeup 2

I couldn't help but use those beautiful butterfly dies!  This time I layered a white gingham vellum behind the yellow vellum.  It almost looks like the butterfly is actually flying.

Here is the photo that this card is based on:

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge: Have a Beautiful Day

Hello!  Today, at the last minute, I decided I wanted to play along with the PTI blog hop!  It was the perfect day to do so as it was just a quiet, lazy day at home after church this morning and what better kind of day to pull out the craft supplies!

The theme for this month was to create a card using aqua & melon!  I love those colors together!

Have a Beautiful Day

I used the beautiful butterfly dies from PTI called Life is Beautiful.  I LOVE, LOVE the size of the butterflies in this set!  I really like that this one is so large and detailed!  Beautiful indeed!

Have a Beautiful Day Closeup

I had fun creating this background too!  It's so easy to pull out a few key colors but not overshadow the main focal point.  The sentiment I stamped with black StazOn ink and then embossed the "beautiful" in gold.  I really like how you can still see the background through the vellum.

Here's the inspiration piece we were working from.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Thank you for stopping by today!  If you'd like to participate or see the other entries in the blog hop, visit Nichole's blog!

Dies:  PTI Life is Beautiful, PTI Center Stage

Brighter Days!

**Be sure to check out my stamps & dies for sale on the Stamps for Sale tab above ! I just updated with new stamps & dies this week!**

Hey all!  How are things going?  It's the weekend!! Yea!! I don't know why this week seemed so long, maybe because it was so busy!  Now I'm putting off working on my garage sale for next Saturday but as soon as I finish this post I've told myself I have to go back to work on pricing and sorting, pricing and sorting...

I wanted to share a card I've been working on.  I LOVE the cute stamp set that is in the April Simon Says kit (that is the first kit I have EVER purchased!).  I don't know what it is about the light bulb image but I love it!  And the font just calls my name too!  I couldn't wait to use it!

Brighten Day Flowers 1.2

I was also excited to play with PTI's Embellished Elegance set!  I know it seems like an unlikely pair but I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest.

I've seen others like this but how cool are flowers in a light bulb!?

Brighten Day Flowers Closeup Side

I stamped the light bulb (in hindsight I should have embossed it in black because I had a little trouble with the ink bleeding) and then took out my waterbrush pen and Avery Elle's Sea Glass ink pad to watercolor some water into the bottom of the bulb.  I have to say how much I LOVE these ink colors from Avery Elle!  I was the luckiest girl when I won their entire ink collection!  The colors stamp so beautifully and they are gorgeous!

Brighten Day Flowers Side

I was also inspired by all of the flowers that have had black or gray leaves on them lately.  It's a really elegant look!

I'm entering this card into the Simon Says Stamps Clean & Simple challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the card!! Have a GREAT weekend!

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop: High Gloss

**This is my second post for today.  If you are here for my Lil' Inker Designs Release Post, please scroll down!  Thanks!**

Hey everyone!  I wanted to play along with the March PTI Blog Hop.  The theme for this month was high gloss.  I didn't have much time to pull together a card, so I kept it really, really simple!

Happy bday gloss 1.2

I needed a birthday card for a man, so I picked colors that would work well with a masculine theme without going the earthy direction.

Happy bday gloss closeup

It's SO hard to capture in the photo, but the "happy" is embossed in clear embossing powder to give it shine and the "birthday" is embossed with yellow.  The balloon has glossy accents added to the top of it to give it a lot of pop and shine.

If you'd like to join in on the fun, you have a chance to play along all day!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Spring: PTI February Blog Hop

**Check out my Stamps for Sale page by clicking here!**

Today I am participating in the February PTI Blog Hop Challenge.  The challenge this month was to create something with a Spring theme.

Spring Bday 1.2

I used the Circle Scribbles set to make my flowers and added in some greenery from the Mini Blooms set (I liked it better prior to the green being added, oh well!).  I stamped the back side of the scribbles to make the solid images and then embossed the scribbles on top in three different colors.  The "green" flowers are actually yellow but I had a hard time picking up that color in my photo.

Spring Bday Side

I used the Tipped Top dies to cut my white panel and then trimmed the access off of the side.  I embossed the Sweet Speech bubble with aqua embossing powder and popped it up with dimensionals.

I made another card for this challenge but you know how you start playing around and before you know it the card is finished and you realize that it doesn't fit the theme of the challenge at all? Yeah, that happened to me this time around so I started over.  :)  This was the card that I ended up with.

Thanks for stopping by!  You can join in the fun today too if you'd like!  Pop on over to Nichole's blog for more details!

Supplies
Stamps:  PTI Sweet Speech, Circle Scribbles, Mini Blooms

The Smile You Gave Me

**Check out my stamps for sale here!**

I placed a PTI order this month. I haven't done that in quite a while but I really, really liked some of the products that were released this month!

Today I had a short time to sit down and create and I pulled out my favorite set from the release, Circle Scribbles.

Smile You Gave Me Side 1.2

I knew what I wanted to do with this set from the moment I saw the first preview.  I used the scribbles to make "flowers" of sort.  I used the back side of the stamp that is usually against the block to stamp the solid images.  Then, I flipped the stamp over to the "right" side and stamped each of the images with VersaMark ink and then embossed with gold embossing powder.

Smile You Gave Me Angle 1.3

I love how the gold looks embossed on top and how the solid images look water colored.  The sentiments are from the Building Blocks set which I think is a great way to stack sentiments for a different look!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies
Stamps:  PTI Circle Scribbles, Building Blocks
Dies: Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangle
Ink: Fresh Ink Tomato Red & Ginger, Amuse Mermaid & Grass, Versamark
Other:  Zing! Gold Embossing Powder

Always.

Welcome back to another PTI Birthday challenge post!  Today it was all about stripes.  The challenge was to make a card that incorporates stripes in any way.

As soon as I heard about this challenge I knew right away where I would start!  Lil' Inker Designs released Cover Up Die: Stitches & Stripes a few months ago and I couldn't think of anything better to use for this challenge!

Always Stripes

I started out by cutting my LID Cover Up Die: Stitches & Stripes with my current favorite color of cardstock from Michaels called Sugar Candy.  I adhered that on my card base (and unfortunately tore it as I was finishing lining it up, but please ignore that).  I love the stitches on this plate!  Such a wonderful, wonderful detail!

Always Stripes Closeup

I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Stylish Sentiments: Birthday on Soft Stone cardstock with Berry Sorbet ink.  I then added a black Turning a New Leaf (PTI) die cut and adhered three buttons in mint & yellow on top tied with twine & floss.

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday & Button Up
Dies: Lil' Inker Designs Cover Up Die: Stitches & Stripes, PTI Turning a New Leaf & Buttoned Up 1 & 2
Cardstock:  Michaels Sugar Candy, PTI White, Soft Stone & True Black

Crafty Peeps February Card Kit

**Be sure to check out my stamps for sale tab above or click here!  There are lots of new sets up for sale!**

Welcome to my Crafty Peeps Card Kit Club post! This month the kit came from Joan and she filled it full of wonderful supplies!

I made three cards using the contents with the kit!

Gold Heart Skips a Beat

First up is my favorite of the three.  I really like the gold trend right now and throw in some stripes and I'm really happy, lol!  Joan had some wonderful striped washi tape paper and that is what I used for the striped part of this card! Isn't it lovely?

Gold Heart Skips a Beat Closeup

She also included some wood hearts.  I took one and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  Talk about packing a punch! I added in some flat gold sequins to finish the card off.

This card was based on Retro Sketches' Sketch #101.

Love You

Next up is this "Love You" card.  I really liked this patterned paper that Joan sent and it paired up nicely with the blueish gray card base that she also included.  I die cut the "Love" with PTI Headline Alphabet letter dies, tilting the "V" for an artistic look.  I stamped the heart (from PTI Heart Prints)  in between the letters and at the bottom of the card with PTI Autumn Rose ink.  The "you" is from Simon Says Stamp.

I'm entering this into the PTI challenge for today to use a large word as a focal point.

Two Hearts

My last card uses three of the various washi tapes Joan included.  What a fun option!  After using my Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Mats: Rectangles to make the stitching around the card base, I added the washi tape.  I stacked two more of the wood/chipboard hearts.  I colored the hollowed center one black with my ink pad and then used Heart Prints (PTI) to stamp the pattern onto the other heart.  The sentiment is from PTI's Love & Marriage set.

I'm also linking these cards up to the Simon Says Stamp Have a Heart Challenge!

Thanks Joan for sending such a fun set!  I enjoyed working with this kit!  If you'd like to see what Leigh did with this kit, visit her blog here!

It's Your Day!

**I updated my stamps for sale again today!  Be sure to check them out on the tab above!**

Stopping in with another PTI Birthday Celebration Card.  It's almost time for Bunko, so this post will be super quick! Our challenge this time around was to make a birthday card using any of the inspiration we have received this week through the countdown posts.  I chose to work with one of the previous card sketches.

PTI It's Your Day 2

For this card I used Aqua Mist, Terracotta Tile, Rustic White & Melon Berry card stocks.  I cut the heart out of the speech bubble and then popped the speech bubble up with dimensionals.  I also popped up the heart but  with only 1/2 the dimension as the speech bubble.

PTI It's Your Day Closeup

The sentiment was stamped with Amuse Fern Ink and the patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Daily Grind collection.

Thanks for visiting today!
