Rainbow Acetate Card

Hi everyone!  How are you doing?  I have another rainbow project to share with you today.  This one has a bit of a twist because I used a printed acetate for the base!

DSC_7826

I started the card by taking scrap paper strips that I had cut to size and then adhered them to thin computer paper so it wasn't too bulky to cut through. I used the Catherine Pooler Picture Frame Dies to cut out the shape.  I also cut out three of the larger sized frames in that die set with white cardstock (one will be the base of the rainbow, one will go inside the card on the back of the rainbow image & the third will go on the inside of the card for the sentiment).

After I had cut the Picture Frame Die panels I cut a smaller one out of white cardstock to stamp the rainbow and sentiment on.  I stamped the sentiment first using the So Happy Sentiments Stamp Set & then used the Geo Curves Stamp Set to create the rainbow using Party DressCoral CabanaSaunaLime Rickey & Aquatini.  I popped all of the layers up with dimensional tape.

For the base I cut a printed piece of vellum that I had in my stash into the size of a card base, scored it with my scor-pal and then attached the rainbow panel to it.  I attached the second piece of white cardstock frame that I had cut earlier to the back side of the rainbow image so that when you open the card you don't see the back of the image I attached to the front.  I attached the third frame die cut to the area where the sentiment will go.

This was a fun card to put together!

What a truly stunning card! So vibrant with the bright pieces of cardstock pieced together and die-cut, then added to the polka-dotted acetate. Having the see-through element really makes the colored portions shine especially with so much light coming through between the polka dots. I saw this on SCS and had to come to your blog and get more information on how you made this card.

I have one of Catherine Pooler's kits from some time ago. I love how vibrant her inks are, maybe I will be able to someday try them. I do love bright colors, you have used them in a very balanced way which really makes them shine and stand out in a unique way. LOVE this. I will be favoriting this card on SCS.

Blessings and sending my best wishes,

Joanne
