Being a Kansas girl, you've heard me say it before, I love sunflowers. So much so that in college and early in my married life I use to collect sunflower decor. Now I don't decorate with sunflowers but I am still attracted to their beauty and have been known to buy a bouquet or two for the house from time to time. Playing with the new Be Wild Stamp set from Catherine Pooler I discovered that I could make a sunflower-like flowers with the stamps in the set. I know sunflowers are fall flowers but I think they are beautiful enough for anytime of the year on a card! :)
I first die cut a circle out of my card panel, making room for the sentiment that I'd add later and then started stamping the outer yellow flower petals from the Be Wild Stamp set with Tiara ink. I then went in and stamped the inside circle with Over Coffee ink. I added the little trio of black dots four times to each circle. I chose the tiniest leaf from the set and used Lime Rickey ink to add in the green leaves.
The first thing about this Be Wild Stamp set that drew my eye was the Sparkle & Shine sentiment. I love it! And that's exactly what a sunflower does! I stamped that sentiment on a piece of green cardstock and then adhered the sunflower panel with dimensional tape to the top. I added some yellow sequins to finish the card off.
