Be a Light in the Darkness

Going to Bible Camp each summer in Ponca, Arkansas was one of my very favorite things to do each year.  Now my daughter looks forward to it each and every day.  This release brings back so many of those feelings!  Days spent with friends, learning about Jesus and nights around a campfire.  

The Summer Nights Release from Catherine Pooler Designs will go live in the shop on Wednesday, May 4th.  Today's sneak peek is one of those cards that while creating it just made me think of summer camp!

I mixed some new with old on this card.  The patterned papers are from the Lumberjack and Paradise Plaid Patterned Paper Packs.  I used the Melon Edge Dies to create the hills.  I also die cut out a circle with the Circle Dies for the sentiment.

I used the Camping Lantern Die as the focal point. I die cut it from red cardstock in my stash and then colored in the flame with Flame & Catching Rays Inks and then I used Tiara Ink on the background for a glow from the flame.  I also used Rouge Ink to highlight some of the areas on the lantern.  The Sentiment and lightning bug are from the new Night in Flight Stamp Set and the sequins are from the Williamsburg Sequin Mix.
