I know that the new Catherine Pooler Release is all about Christmas, but I am always thrilled when a stamp set has lots of versatility so today I want to share how to use the new Garland Borders Stamps to make non-Christmas cards!
But, first, let's talk a little bit about the release. The newest release from Catherine Pooler Designs will be on Wednesday, September 15th at 9 AM. Or, if you are a StampNation Member you get to shop early which is TODAY at 9 AM EST!
I love strings of lights! When I saw this particular stamp set, Garland Borders, in the This Christmas release, I knew I wanted to make something using it as string of lights but outside of Christmas. This particular look is very popular on wedding invitations and so I kind of took that idea and ran with it. I LOVE sunflowers, being a Kansas girl and knew that this would be a great look to pair with the lights. I first embossed the string of lights in Pearl Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter from Wow! on top of birch patterned paper in the Through the Woods Paper Pack. The congratulations at the top is from the Build-a-Bunting Stamp set.
I stamped the sunflowers and leaves using the Shine on Sunflowers Stamp Set and die cut with the coordinating dies. The ink colors I used are Sauna, Over Coffee, Icing on the Cake, Eucalyptus & Spruce. I popped the middle sunflower up with dimensional tape.
I love that this is such a versatile stamp that I can see adding details to lots of cards in the future! It would be fun to decorate an envelope with as well!
