Oh my goodness! I've had so much fun with this April Showers Bring... new release from Catherine Pooler Designs!

As I was playing with this release I decided to go outside my box and create a barn for the cute little rooster in the Rise & Shine Stamp Set. It was simple really and I'll let you know how I did it!
We'll get to the barn in a minute, but let's talk about the rest of the card first.
I stamped the rooster from the fun Rise & Shine Stamp Set and masked off each area so that I could make him multi-colored. I used Twilight, Samba and Orange Twist for the rooster. After I stamped the Samba parts I went over it with a copic to smooth out the color a little. I cut out his wing from patterned paper from the Great Start Patterned Paper Pack and then popped it up with dimensional tape. The sentiment comes from a previously released set called One Liners Sentiments Stamp Set.
If you look closely you can see that there are hills behind the barn. Those are stamped with the new Morning Borders Stamp Set. I stamped them in Grass Skirt and Lime Rickey. The sun at the top of the barn, also from the Rise & Shine Stamp Set, is stamped in Tiara Ink.
Let's move on to the barn. No, I didn't use a die. I googled "barn silhouettes" and found a free barn shape I wanted for my card. To make it as easy as possible, I sized the barn to the size I wanted it for my card. It couldn't be too small because that rooster already looks pretty big, but they have "big heads" anyway right? LOL! I traced that onto cardstock and cut it out and then added the door and window with thin strips of white cardstock. It was really quite simple and makes a great addition to many of the images in the Rise & Shine Stamp Set!
