Snow Globe Noel
The new Snow Globe die set is a fun one! If you like shaker cards it makes them super simple to create! And if you don't like shaker cards that's OK too because you can do so many things with this die set!
For this card I started by taking a piece of the Smoke & Mirrors cardstock and stamping the Flourishes Background stamp with VersaMark ink onto it. I love the shadow effect it gives! Next I started assembling my globe. I used the two circle dies included in the set to make the pieces for the shaker.
For the globe shape I die cut:
- one large circle out of Premium White Cardstock to stamp the background on
- one large circle out of acetate for the window
- I used the two circles together to die cut the white trim around the edge of the globe
- the base out of Smoke & Mirrors cardstock (several times to make it thicker). I also stamped the Woodgrain Background stamp onto the base with VersaMark ink to get the woodgrain look.
- The NOEL included in the snow globe die set, sponged with Samba ink.
On the large circle that I had die cut with Premium White Cardstock I sponged the blue background with the new Suede Shoes ink and then spritzed water onto the Flourishes Background stamp and stamped on top of the blue background. This made the cool background effect for the sky. On top of that I stamped the birch trees and the bird from the Winter Woodland stamp set and used Twilight (stamped off once) & Rockin' Red ink.
I cut some white glitter paper for the hills. The deer, from the Snow Globe die set, are die cut from Sand Dunes cardstock and I added some little white dots to their bodies and feet. I felt like the top of the snow globe needed something so I stamped & die cut the little hanging ornament from the Holiday Charm stamp set. I colored the image with Samba, Suede Shoes, Tiara, Green Tea & Eucalyptus inks.
