A Refreshing Jar of Lemonade

Hey everyone!  The Shabby Tea Room has a cute inspiration photo for their challenge this week and I couldn't resist playing along!

Jen Carter Lemonade Love 2

I love mason jars and I also love cold pink lemonade on a hot sunny day!  For this challenge I pulled out a die from Frantic Stamper called the Milk Bottle & Mason Jar die.  I die cut it with patterned ombre paper that looked like pink lemonade to me.

Jen Carter Lemonade Love Banners 2

To create the banner, I used one the Medieval Banner dies and cut them from patterned paper.  I first stamped a curved line for them to hang from.  I wanted them to have a little dimension also so I used the trick below.

I applied adhesive to the top of the banners and then I put a small piece of dimensional foam at the bottom.  This allowed the banners to have a little lift and it won't be flattened when it is put in the envelope like it would if I had just curled them up a little.

Jen Carter Lemonade Love Closeup 4

After I die cut the jar with the Dipped Dyed Ombre Paper, I attached a lemon that I had stamped with the Summertime Fruits stamp set from Frantic Stamper and then watercolored it with basic watercolors and an aqua pen.  I cut a tiny slit in the lemon so it could fit inside of the jar like the lemons in the inspiration photo.

Here's the photo I used for inspiration for my card.

Thank you for stopping by!  I think it's time to go grab a refreshing lemonade!

ShowCASe Your Style Color Challenge #18

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

Welcome to another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week's challenge is to use the color inspiration photo that has been provided (scroll down to see the photo).  I thought it fit the ombre trend well!

Jen Carter SCYS Color Closeup

Jen Carter SCYS Color

For this card I pulled out the Smarty Pants stamp set to create the pencil, scribble & sentiment.  This is one of my favorite, go to sets from the Clearly Whimsy line!  I then used three stars from the Birthday Balloon stamp set and stamped them on my cardstock in a triangle pattern.  I thought that this photo fit well with the ombre theme so I added a strip of my favorite Striped Ombre Paper to the side.

I hope you'll play along with us!  We would love to see your creations using stamps from the Clearly Whimsy line, but all products are welcome to be used and no one is disqualified from winning!  The challenge is open for 2 weeks.  You can link up your cards and see the other design team samples by clicking here.  There are prizes up for grabs too, so be sure to check that out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Clearly Whimsy Smarty Pants & Birthday Balloon

Cardstock: PTI Spring Rain
Ink: Fresh Ink Sky Blue & Slate

Masculine Happy Birthday

I saw the cutest inspiration photo for the Cupcakes Inspiration challenge this week and had to play along!  And, it was for a masculine card theme which is always a challenge for me!

Jen Carter Happy Birthday Mustache 2

The inspiration photo had lots of blue & red polka dots & stripes and so I tried to incorporate those elements in various ways in my background.  I used the Spot on Stamps by Lil' Inker Designs to create the polka dots, stamping them on a mat die cut with Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles dies.  I used the "Happy Birthday to You" circle, also from the Spot On stamp set as my sentiment for this card.  I liked how it was small and didn't interfere with the flow of the card.

Jen Carter Happy Birthday Mustache Closeup 2

The adorable hat & mustache dies are from Frantic Stamper's Fancy Sirs Hats & Mustaches die set.  There are several different styles of hats & mustaches in this series so it was hard to choose which one to go with.  I thought that these two fit the inspiration photo the closest.  I also included one of the frames from the Elementals #7: Coved Labels that I die cut with vellum.  It softened down the background just enough to really make the black hat & mustache pop.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed this card!

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above, including lots of PTI!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

Welcome to the June Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  When I saw the photo for this month's inspiration, I knew right away I wanted to play along!

Jen Carter PTI June Peaches Thanks Closeup

There are flowers in the inspiration photo, but I thought immediately of the peaches in Betsy's new Make It Market Mini Kit.   I thought that their ripe, juicy color would be perfect for the colors in the photo.

Aren't those shoes so cute?

Jen Carter PTI June Peaches Thanks

I used the Cover Plate: Stripes Horizontal die to cut the stripes.  It seemed like the perfect backdrop for the peaches.  I added in the "Thanks" die included in the kit and cut three of them to stack on top of each other.  I sprayed the top peach with a little glimmer mist and used a clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen on the peaches in a few key areas but it is hard to see in the photo.  To finish the card off, I added in a few dark gray enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, Rustic Cream, Terra Cotta Tile
Ink: PTI Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse; Fresh Ink Coral Melon; Mama Elephant Fern; Avery Elle Papaya

The Garden of Life

Hey everyone!  Today I have a card to share using a couple clear stamp sets from Frantic Stamper.

Jen Carter Frantic Stamper Garden Watercolor 2

I started by die cutting my white panel with the Elementals #1 die.  Then, I heat embossed with white the flowers from the Scribble Flowers #1 & Scribble Flowers #2 stamp sets.  I die cut the large flower with the coordinating die set, Scribble Flowers Dies.

Jen Carter Frantic Stamper Garden Watercolor Closeup 2

To color the flowers, I used many colors of distress inks and my aqua pen.  I really enjoyed doing this!  You can't see it in the picture, but I added some glitter to the flowers & leaves with my Clear Wink of Stella pen.  To add a little dimension to the background of my card, I cut some 1" strips of black cardstock and attached them to the base.  Then, I popped up the white panel with dimensionals and adhered.

I am entering this card in the Clear it Out Challenge where the theme is to use your stash of your favorite product.  Mine is my Wink of Stella glitter pen & also the distress inks that I've been enjoying lately!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Earning PayPal $$ Easily with Swagbucks!

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

I haven't shared about earning with Swagbucks lately, so I decided to take a crafty break and give you some info on an easy way to earn PayPal gift cards (or other prizes/gift cards of your choice) just by searching the web like you currently do and/or performing other easy tasks.  I've earned quite a bit over the last few years I've been using this program.
Here's the info:

Have you signed up for Swagbucks?  In the last few years that I've been using this program, I've redeemed my points (mostly earned by searching the web) for $100's of dollars in PayPal gift cards! That is basically "free" money to use for my paper crafting hobby! :)

If you haven't signed up yet, what are you waiting for?  LOL!!  Click here to sign up now:

CLICK HERE to sign up & look around!

I also want to share a few easy ways that I get points every day (and periodically too)!

Once you sign up there are MULTIPLE ways to earn swagbucks.

1.  The first thing I usually do is find the "To Do" list that is located on the left side of the page.  You'll need to scroll down slightly to see it.  This is a list that includes multiple ways to earn swagbucks.

2.  The first task I do is click on the "Daily Poll" in the "to do" list.  This is so easy to do.  Answer the question with a click of a button and you earn an easy swagbuck point.  So, just by remembering to do this every day (you can do it from your phone too!), you'd earn 30 swagbucks a month.

3.  Go back to the "to do" list and click on "NOSO".  This will bring you to a set of special offers.  You can click "skip" or "see another offer" each time, usually you'll go through about 6 pages or so, and at the end you will enter a code for another 2 swagbucks.  (Now you've just doubled your monthly swagbuckss form 30 to 90 if you do just these 2 things!)

4.  After you enter the codes in Daily Poll & NOSO it will usually pop up a little icon that will give you additional ways to earn extra swagbucks.  A lot of the time they require you to watch a video. I will play the videos while I'm stamping (almost on mute) and earn swagbucks easily for doing almost nothing!

5. Searching the Web.  The easiest way to rack up  points is by searching the web!  The key is to start on the home page and use the swagbucks "Search & Earn" bar to do your searching.  I try to search once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once sometime in the evening (if I am home and think about it).  Usually it takes just a few searches to earn points.  I earn anywhere from 7 -12 points each time and several times have earned 40 points for one search!  On the average, that is at least 21 points a day, but most often more than that!  Simple, simple way to rack up your points quickly!

6.  Shop & Earn.  This is a really good way to rack up points, especially if you like to shop online.  On the toolbar at the top of Swagbucks, you will see a "Shop" option.  Click on that button.  This will take you to a page that shows you all of the online shops that you can earn swagbucks at by shopping.  Some of the places that you can shop at and earn swagbucks are Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Kohls, Ebay, Target, Cafe Press, Overstock, QVC, Macy's, JcPenney, Nike, Home Depot, etc, etc, etc.  The way it works is that for every dollar you spend, you earn a certain number of swagbucks  and often times they have specials at certain stores where you can earn even more (just be sure to click through from the Swagbucks "shop" link to go directly to the online store to earn  your bucks).  As I write this post,  Walmart (who carries an impressive selection of crafting supplies) has a special that for every dollar you spend online through their link you earn 4 swagbucks.  So if you spend $25, you will earn 100 swagbucks!  It usually takes a few days for these to post to your account.

7.   On your page you will see lots of little boxes with "tasks" that you can do to earn swagbucks.  If I am in the mood to earn some more bucks while crafting, I will look through there and find the ones that don't require me to sign up for anything and do those.  Typically I am looking for the ones that offer "2 SB" because those are typically videos that will play or a website that you have to click on to earn points.

8.  You can also earn points by watching Swagbucks TV  If you are trying to get lots of points so that you can redeem them for a certain prize, this is a way that you can earn points quickly.  Once you watch 10 videos (the animal videos are usually 30 seconds each!!) you earn points.  I often let the videos run in the background on mute while I go about my business. :)

9.  Swag Codes.  Periodically during the day, Swagbucks will release a code that you can copy & paste into the box on your swagbucks homepage that says "Enter Your Swag Code" (next to your profile picture).  These codes are usually only good for a few hours, but if you find them when they are still in use, it is an easy way to get swagbucks!  When there is a swagcode, my phone notifies me so it is easy to enter on the go using the swagbucks mobile app.

10.  Games. If you are a gamer, there are free games you can play to earn swagbucks.  I have to admit that this is one I choose not to do, but if it is something you enjoy, it is an easy way to earn.

11.  Answer.  You will also find this in the blue toolbar at the top of the home page.  You can access the daily poll from here but you can also click on "Surveys" to get more points. You basically get paid swagbucks to take surveys. It will tell you ahead of time how long it is expected to take and how many swagbucks you will earn for taking the surveys so you can decide if it is worth your time or not.

12. Coupons.  You can earn swagbucks by printing & redeeming coupons (under the tab at the top of the page "Discover").  For every coupon that you print and use, you earn 10 swagbucks!  Pretty cool!

10.  Special Offers.  This is also under the "Discover" tab at the top of the page.  This is similar to the square icons that fill your home page. When you get to that page you will see tabs (under the advertisement).  There are lots of different options on what to do here.  You can find lots of easy ways to earn swagbucks.  Again, when I feel like it, I only do the easy ones.  But, if you are interested in the others, you can earn lots of swagbucks.

11. Encrave/Crave.  Another series of videos that you can watch and earn points.  Again, another set it to play and continue to do what I'm doing feature!

12. Earn Bonus Points.  There are daily goals set for you.  You can see what it is by looking at the top left of your swagbucks home page.  If you earn the goal in swagbucks, you'll be awarded extra bonus swagbucks!

I hope that that gives you some ideas on how to make the most of this program!

When you earn enough swagbucks, you can redeem your points for prizes.  I redeem my points for PayPal gift cards but you can also redeem them for lots of other gift cards and prizes!  For example, a $5 Amazon gift card is only 500 swagbucks (a $3 card is 300 points).  A $25 PayPal gift card is 2,500 swagbucks and this is what I save up for!

A Circle of Hi's

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

Hey everyone!  I have a one layered card to share today.

Jen Carters Whimsy Circles Circles Circles Stitched Alphas

This one is very CAS.  I stamped my circles in different colored inks from Clearly Whimsy's Circles, Circles, Circles stamp set.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but those brownish circles are actually gold and they sparkle in real life.  After I had my circles placed where I liked them, I then stamped the "HI" using the Stitched Alphabet Uppercase stamp set.

Thanks for visiting!

Paper Pieced Ombre Friends

**I have lots of new listings for stamp sets for sale on my "Stamps for Sale - Updated" tab above!  Or you can click here.  Take a look if you have time!  Thanks!**

I have some favorite products to share with you that I've used on my card today!

Jen Carter Ombre Lattice Flower

First, on my favorites list is this new Lattice Flower Square Panel Die that Frantic Stamper just released. It has so many possibilities and I have loved this pattern for quite some time! I used this same panel as a border on this card that I shared last week.  I wanted to make a soft quilt-like pattern on this card.  The prints in the Fancy Pants Summer Sun paper pad were perfect (and this is another product that is on my favorite list right now...which is subject to change tomorrow, but I love the texture this paper has!).  I just pieced the papers in where I wanted them (held together with tape on the back side) and then popped the entire piece up with dimensionals.

Jen Carter Ombre Lattice Flower Closeup

The "friends" sentiment is also from a Frantic Stamper die set called Good Friends Daisy Frame.  I die cut the sentiment three times and stacked them on top of each other for dimension.  That is one of my favorite techniques right now.  I love how it adds just the right amount of dimension without having to worry about the pop dots or tape showing underneath.

And that ombre paper.  Yeah, that is on my favorites list right now too!  That is a new release from Lil' Inker Designs and it is one of three ombre paper pads, this one called Ombre Stripes.  The entire collection can be viewed here.   It is the perfect subtle background for this piece.

The top of the card is tied with a piece of solid strawberry twine from The Twinery.  This card is based on a sketch from my Card Sketches Pinterest board.

I'm entering this card over at the Just us Girls #297 challenge which was to use stacked die cut sentiments.

And, I'm also entering this card over at the Paper Sweeties Challenge where I was inspired by the colors
in the banners and also the different patterns in the photo.

And, last but not least I am entering this over at the Addicted to Stamps Summer Colors challenge & Avenue 613 Anything Goes Challenge & Crafting When We Can Challenge to Paper Piece.
Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!
