Lil' Inker Designs Release: Interactive Cards!

Hello everyone!!  It's time again for the Lil' Inker Designs Release festivities!  Yea!! All of the products being shown are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store already!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Campbell's blog and if you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

I have quite a few photos for today's post, so hang with me for some exciting announcements at the end!

Peek a boo Happy 1.2 wtmk2

One of the new stamp & die sets that LID is releasing this month is so fun!  It is one of my favorites!  I LOVE interactive cards, they are so fun for the recipient and this stamp/die set has so many options on how it can be used!  The new Unscramble This stamp set and the coordinating Peek-a-boo die have lots and lots of possibilities as you'll see as the design team reveal their projects!

For this card I embossed the sentiment from the set on the peek-a-boo die cut-out (it scores a line and cuts out 3 sides so you can lift the flap!).  The puzzle is on the outside and when you lift the flap...

Peek a boo Happy Open 1.1 wtmk3

On the inside when you lift the flap, the answer to the puzzle is "Congratulations".  I used another new product on this card as well!  See those sequins?  Yes, that is a new die too called Scattered Sequins!  You can use the sequins flat or you can shape them into a cupped shape.  I found for the glitter paper that I liked them the best flat.  Can you imagine all of the papers you can use with this die?  Now there's no need to have sequins in every imaginable color, you can cut your own to match your project!  And, the other fun part with this die is that the "negative" part of the die is a rectangle with stitched circles so you can use that piece in a totally different way!

After I "finished" my projects for this release (or so I thought) I had another idea for an interactive card I wanted to make.

Waterfall Front wtmk

I love waterfall cards!  LOVE!! They are so fun.  But the style seems dated to me.  So, I got a little inventive and found a way to change up the old waterfall card to make it "new" again!  Here's the start of the card.  To make the tag I used the Folding Tag Die and cut off the folding part.  I stamped another sentiment included in Unscramble This on the tag and then adhered two of the Puzzle Piece dies from another new die set (and yes, they do fit together)!  There is no need to put a paper strip clear up to the top of the card front but I decided for this design I like it best this way.

I added a few different sizes of the sequins from the Scattered Sequins die to the front.  See that little half circle tab?  The recipient pulls on that.  (That was cut with the smallest Anytime Tags die.)

Waterfall Page 1 wtmk

When they pull on the tab it opens to the next page where they find another interactive element.  I die cut the 2nd to smallest Stitched Mats Rectangles die for this piece.  I stamped the sentiments from the Unscramble This set.

Waterfall Page 1 Open wtmk

When you lift the flap, this is what you find.  The heart is embossed from the Stay Beautiful stamp set.

Pull that tab again and you get the last page and a little message on the pull tab!  This smallest tab was die cut from the Stitched Mats Rectangles smallest die. (In hindsight, I wish I would have added patterned paper to the back of the 2nd tab so it had some color and not just the rustic white cardstock.

Here's the card in action and my first video! :)

Would you like to see the new products I've used?

We have some exciting news to share!  We have THREE new team members joining us this month!

Please welcome three talented ladies:

Sadly, this also means we are saying goodbye to another talented LID designer, Suzanne.  I love her work so much and will miss her contributions to this team!  And let me tell you, she is as sweet in person as she is on her blog too!  I wish her much happiness in all she does!

The challenge over on Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is Anything Goes and if you have Lil' Inker Designs products to use them on your card.  I'm entering these cards over there!

Don't forget to comment to win!  The more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!  There's plenty more inspiration to see using these sets and we'll be showcasing projects through Wednesday!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!
