Damask Birthday Tag

Last month PTI had a blog hop and the theme was tags.  I didn't read the instructions carefully enough the first time and so instead of making a holiday tag like I was suppose to, I made a birthday tag.  So, I made a holiday tag for the blog hop and never posted this original tag.

I love the color combination of Scarlet Jewel, Rustic White & Ocean Tides!! I have got to use this one more often!

To create the tag I cut a rectangle and then rounded the corners.  For the top of the tag, I used the banner borders die to cut the top shape of the tag.  How easy is that!!  I also added another die cut from the banners borders die to create the border.  I hid the seam where the two borders came together with Martha Stewart twill and then attached buttons with Cappuccino twine from The Twinery.  I love the button at the top of the tag!  Isn't that one such a pretty one! It matches the design of the twill so well too!

For the bottom I stamped the damask image with Aqua Mist ink which coordinated perfectly with the Ocean Tides cardstock.  A little bling around the image adds a little touch of elegance.

Thanks for coming by! Have a wonderful day!

Jen, this is an absolutely stunning tag! I mean the colors...I don't think I've ever thought about these together but they are gorgeous! I am so glad you made an "oopsie" birthday tag last month because I LOVE this! I think that wonderful MS twill we bought matches Ocean Tides perfectly!

Beautiful tag! I love the color combo!

You asked if I put an eyelet in my jar lids to prevent fraying...no, I didn't. I thought about it, but the eyelets usually split at the back and so I figured there would be more of a chance for it ruining the twine than if I left it with the even edge of the hole. {Hope that makes sense.} Using the twine from the jars now it does scrape against the sides a bit, but I haven't noticed any major issues with it.
