School starts here next week and I'm looking forward to a good year for my soon to be 2nd grader! He will have a great teacher and I think we are all ready for school to start (whether he admits it or not).
So, I decided to make a school themed card for the new Papertrey Paperdolls Challenge #17 hosted by Lisa V. The challenge she issued was to make a card based on Dawn McVey's card and to use any new products from last month's Papertrey release.
Here's my card:
It's hard to see but I used the Book Print Impression plate on the aqua piece and the canvas impression plate on the red scalloped piece.
Here was Dawn's inspiration piece that we were working from:
Thanks for stopping by! We'd love to have you join in and play with this challenge!
Supplies (all PTI unless noted)

Paper: Library Ledger Patterned Paper, Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Kraft, Ivory
Ink: Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Tea Dye Duo

When I saw this challenge, I thought how am I going to do those stripes but I like how you just used Dawn's "layout" for your inspiration! I may have to look at this challenge a little differently now!! Great card Jen!!
Nice job on this! I love how you utilized the mat.
This is really cute, Jen! I love the color you chose - that bold red looks great with the pastels.
Very pretty, Jen! Great colors!

Cute card!
My oldest starts 2nd grade next week, and she can't wait...I'm so not ready for my big helper to be gone, however. This card is absolutely perfect! I need to figure out what to do for my daughter's teacher...she has a 'Mr.' this year for the first time. Here's hoping it all goes well!
Jen, I always forget that one can cut out Mat Stacks with patterned paper! Thanks for the reminder with your lovely back-to-school card!
