Floral Favorites & Custom Scalloped Borders Tutorial!

I love the new TAC set called "Floral Favorites"! I was on a roll with it right before Valentine's Day and used it over and over again. I meant to post these cards before Valentine's but just didn't get around to it so I hope that you don't mind seeing them a little late! You could use these ideas to make wedding cards or engagement cards too.

The card posted above is one of my favorites and I loved playing with this color combination! I used Black Bazzill paper, TAC Kraft and the rest is all DCWV: Raspberry 1, Robin's Egg 2, & Green 2. The rest of the recipe is posted below.

Stamps: TAC Floral Favorites, TAC Sentimental Boxes, TAC Oh How, TAC Running Stitches
Paper: Listed above
Ink: Claret Palette, Moonlight White Brilliance, VersaMark
Other: Scalloped Scissors, Mega & Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, 1" Hole Punch, Edge Distressor, Green Souffle Pen, Blue Stardust Glitter Pen, Pop Dots

This next card is one we made at my open house. I used the same colors that I posted above.

Stamps: TAC Floral Favorites, TAC Date Disks, TAC Floral Dingbats, TAC Love Doodles
Paper: Listed above
Ink: Claret Palette, Cote d'Azure Palette, Black Palette
Other: Mega Scalloped Circle & Square Punches, 1" Hole Punches, Green Souffle Pen, Blue Stardust Glitter Pen, Pop Dots, Ribbon
The card below is just another version of the one I posted above and basically uses the same supplies.
And last is one more using the Floral Favorites heart. This one is called a kickstand card because it "stands" up using the scalloped circle punches. Another fun thing about this card is how the white scalloped border at the bottom of the card was made. I'll tell you about that below!!

Stamps: TAC Floral Favorites, TAC Sentimental Boxes (hearts in background), TAC Oh How, TAC Running Stitches
Paper: Black & Burgandy Bazzill, TAC Kraft, TAC Ultrasmooth White
Ink: Bordeaux Palette, VersaMark
Other: Mega & Giga Scalloped Circle Punches, White Souffle Pen, Edge Distressor, Hole Punch, Corner Rounder (for white scalloped border), Scalloped Scissors
Here's what the card looks like when you open it up. See the white scalloped border, now at the top of the photo? This was made using the NEW TAC cornder rounder!! See below for a tutorial on how to make your very own!

1. This is how the corner rounder looks when you get it.
2. It has removable tabs on each side and you'll need to take those off in order to make your border. 3. Line your punch up with the edge of your paper. Make sure that the bottom "circle" part of the punch is lined up with the bottom of the paper.

4. Here's what your cardstock should look like after the first punch. (And, this will probably take some practice.)

5. Line up your punch again. Since your scallop kind of looks like a smiley face now, you'll want to make sure that when you line the punch up, you line it up with the top corner of the smiley from the last punch that you made. They will overlap.

6. Here's what the next punch will look like when it is finished.

7. Continue to do this until you have completed the section you want to be scalloped. Here is a final product.

Once you play around with it for a while, it does get a lot easier! And, this is such a great way to add another little decorative element to your card or scrapbook page!!

Those are great cards and I love how you showed our corner rounder! Awesome! I haven't ordered ours yet and wondered what it looked like and if it would do the scalloped border...now I know! TFS!

I never thought to color in the floral heart. That looks fabulous! Thanks for the tutorial for the scalloped border. I've got the punch but hadn't tried the border yet.
