Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 2

Jen Carter Foiled Closeup 11

Welcome to day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Release!  All of the products being shown today are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Hoffman's blog.

Today I have 2 cards to share using the new Encouraging Words Stamp Set, Encouraging Words Dies, Cover Up Die: Hello Beautiful & Fringe Scalloped Tag Dies.

Card #1

Jen Carter Foiled Enouraging Words Fringe Tag Hello Beautiful 2 wm

I love this new Encouraging Words Stamp Set and Encouraging Words Dies a lot!  The flowers in the set are just so pretty and the sentiments speak to me.  For this card I colored the flowers with Zig Real Brush Markers.  I added some glitter to the flowers with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer brush.  After diecutting and coloring the flowers, I attached them to a vellum tag that I had die cut using the brand new Fringe Scalloped Tag Dies.  I also embossed the sentiment from the set using a gold glitter embossing powder.  There is A LOT of sparkle, glimmer & shine on this card!

Let's talk about that background.  It's. So. Pretty.  I used the new Cover Up Die: Hello Beautiful to create a stencil (I used a thin acetate but you could also use cardstock if you wanted to).  Next, I taped the stencil in place and used a knife to spread out Deco Foil Transfer Gel onto the stencil.  Once the paste was completely dry I took a sheet of foil and then ran it through my Minc machine (you can also use a laminator).  This is what resulted!

This short video (30 seconds) show you the shine, shimmer & glitter on this card that is hard to capture in the photos.

Bible Journaling: Project #2

I'm trying my hand at something new to me for this next project, Bible Journaling.  I'm not a doodler.  Ok, I like to doodle but it never looks like anything so I've always been a little intimidated by it.  But I also realize that Bible journaling isn't just doodling. It's using stamps, ink, paint, etc too.

This is my humble first attempt at Bible Journaling.  The Encouraging Words Stamp Set just seemed so perfect for this project.  I stamped the flower & hearts & sentiment from the set and then colored all the images in with palette watercolors.  I added some white pen for the detail on the largest flower and some washi tape at the bottom.

Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 1

Hello!  It's time for the next Lil' Inker Designs release! The new products are already available in the  Lil' Inker Designs storeIf you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Hoffman's Blog!

I have two cards to share today, both with a birthday theme.

Card #1
First up is a bright and fun card featuring the new Modern Mandala Stamp & Modern Mandala Die sets.

Jen Carter Modern Mandala Ombre 1 wm

To create this card I started with a white piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Then using one of the beautiful and detailed images from the Modern Mandala Stamp Set I embossed the images with white embossing powder and a heat gun.  To make them line up easier, I stamped & embossed just a couple at a time so I could more easily see where to place the next image.  Then using bright inks (listed below) & a sponge applicator I began sponging the inks onto the cardstock & blending as I went.  Once I was completely finished I used a white rag to rub off the ink from the white embossed images which allowed the white to more fully pop.

I then inked up another little section of white cardstock and stamped & embossed the image again and this time I die cut it out with the coordinating Modern Mandala Die. I attached that to my card front with dimensionals.  I then diecut the little sentiment plate, also included in the Modern Mandala Die Set, from black cardstock & embossed the sentiment from the Modern Mandala Stamp Set in white.  I used some black twine to attach the sentiment plate to the card front.  I love how the black pops against the bright ink colors & white images!

Card #2
This next card is much softer in color and uses several new products including the new Eat Cake Stamp set, coordinating Eat Cake Die Set, Ever Stamps & Ever Word Die

Jen Carter Ever Eat Cake Birthday 2 wm

For this card I started by taking a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and blending an area of pink & yellow inks (listed below).  I then die cut that piece with one of the Eat Cake Dies and stamped the sentiment from the Eat Cake Stamp set and embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.  I used a white gel pen to add the stripes on the candles and used Glossy Accents to make the flames shiny.

To assemble the panel I die cut the Rustic Cream card panel with the previously released Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles. I then die cut the large, gorgeous Ever Word Die out of gold glittery cardstock.  Once I placed that on the panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Ever Stamp Set.  Then, I placed the cake on top of the sentiment with dimensional tape.  After wrapping some gold thread around the card base, I attached the entire panel with dimensional tape.
