Focus on What Matters: Clearly Whimsy Release Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps May 2015 release!

Over the next 3 days we will reveal our *BRAND NEW* Clearly Whimsy Stamps release! We are releasing 4 new clear stamp sets and 7 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!!

Jen Carter Whimsy Focus Matters 1

For this first card I went bright & bold!  I started by stamping the individual film strip image from the new Say Cheese Stamp set over and over in different ink colors.  I then embossed my sentiment from the same set on the bottom of the card and stamped a few stars as accents.

I die cut the new Say Cheese Film Strip die twice and adhered it to the top of my card.  I like how the black really pops off of the card.  I added a small touch of twine from the Twinery to the strips.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left here and on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered into the drawing.

Your Time to Soar!

This past weekend was our high school's graduation and I made several different varieties of graduation cards.  Below are two of them, almost the same, just slightly different.

Jen Carter Soar Graduation Card Frantic Stamper 1

I like lots of color so for this card I started by scribbling my watercolor crayons directly on to my watercolor paper and then using an aqua pen to spread the color around.  I love how vivid it is.  I then stamped my sentiment with black VersaFine ink and heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.

The graduation hat is a die from Frantic Stamper called Graduation Ensemble.  It was the perfect accent for the occasion and the sentiment!  I also added the Congrats die, also from Frantic Stamper to finish off the sentiment.

On this second card, the only thing I did differently was that I didn't watercolor quite as much as I did in the first card.  I think I like the first one, with more color, the best.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lil Inker Designs Monthly Meet Up May

Hello and welcome to Lil' Inker Designs May Monthly Meet-up Challenge!  Details on the challenge are below.  If you participate, just by designing something (ANYTHING) using Lil' Inker Designs, you could have the chance to win a prize!

Jen Carter Faceted Heart Thanks Card Lil' Inker

For my card today I focused on the Cover Up Die: Faceted that is so popular right now!  I first used the die to cut some gold paper.  Once I had that glued down, I then cut some floral paper (Dear Lizzy Serendipity) and paper pieced the heart (isn't it SO cool that there is a heart hidden in the design???).  Each of the floral pieces is popped up with dimensionals.  The vellum tag was die cut with the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag die set & then I embossed the sentiment from Send Pretty Greetings stamp set on top in turquoise.

Here's a closeup of the heart (looks like maybe I didn't get one of my pieces adhered too well).

So, how can YOU pay along?

Hoot, Hoot, Hooray!

I have school and the end of the school year on my mind so today's card has a little of that influence behind it.  It's hard to believe that the year is coming to a close in the next few weeks! Yea!! :)

Jen Carter Whimsy Hoot Hoot Owl

For this card I pulled out several different stamp & die sets from the Clearly Whimsy line.  I started by stamping the lines from the Basic Backgrounds & Borders stamp set.  I then stamped the book images on top of that from the Smarty Pants stamp set which is perfect for teacher cards.  The owl is die cut and then stamped from the  Hoo Loves You stamp set and coordinating Owl Outline Dies.  The sentiment, also from the Hoo Loves You set is stamped inside a speech bubble from the Say What? Speech Bubbles Die Set.  I colored the owl with copics.

Thank you for visiting my blog!
