Clearly Whimsy Release, Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps January 2015 release!

We are releasing 6 new clear stamp sets and 8 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they are available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store RIGHT NOW and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers tomorrow!!

On to the cards, shall we?

For today's card I stamped one of the background stamps from the new Basic Backgrounds & Borders 2 in strips on my light gray cardstock one at a time with watermark ink.  Then, I embossed each one (each color separately) in a different color.  I stamped the sentiment on vellum from the new Birthday Balloon set that was showcased yesterday and embossed it in silver.  I really love that banner sentiment!  So that I didn't have to adhere my vellum to the front of my cardbase, I scored it on each side, wrapped it around my card mat & then adhered it to the backside.  A great tip that I learned from my friend Amy!

Last up today is a card that I made with a few more new products!  I stamped the "plus" sign from the Get Well Soon stamp set randomly on my cardstock in different colors of ink.  This was inspired by a patterned paper from Pink Paislee that I really like and wanted to recreate a similar look.  It made a nice frame for the sentiment!

The new Love Word die is gorgeous!  I really like that scripty font!  I die cut it here from magenta glitter paper.  To finish the card off, I added a few clear sequins.

Clearly Whimsy Release, Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps January 2015 release!

Over the next 3 days we will reveal our *BRAND NEW* Clearly Whimsy Stamps release!  We are releasing 6 new clear stamp sets and 8 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!!

Today we are revealing the Birthday Balloon 3x4” stamp set together with its coordinating Birthday Balloon die, a Birthday word die, Up Up and Away 4x6” stamp set and its companion Up Up and Away Sentiments 3x4" stamp set, together with a coordinating Up Up and Away die set and a Stitched Clouds die set.  Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

 

 

For this card I used one of the sentiment stamps from the Birthday Balloon set and stamped it over and over in different ink colors onto the gray cardstock.  I added one polka dotted stripe, from Basic Backgrounds & Borders that will be showcased tomorrow, to the bottom of the card.  I die cut the Birthday Word Die from vellum and attached it over the sentiments.

For this next card I used two new stamp sets and a new die set.  I stamped the sun rays from Up, Up & Away onto light yellow cardstock.  I used one of the previously released Stitched Border Die Trio dies to cut the landscape.  

Isn't that swirly cloud die cool?  That is from the new Cloud Die set!  I love how you can paper piece it with different patterned papers is you choose to!  The balloon stamp is from the Up, Up & Away stamp set and the sentiment is from the new Up, Up & Away Sentiments set.

Love at Home

Hey everyone!!  I have another lovey card to share today! :)  I have been anxious to play with some house dies from Frantic Stamper and I finally had the chance this weekend!

I wanted to use them in a unique way and with a lovey/Valentine's theme (although this could be used for a new home, a new neighbor, a new addition to the family, etc).  I cut the Suburb House dies out of some text paper and then added the hills that I cut with two of the new Stitched Scene Builder Edgers dies.  This card is a little artsier than most of the cards I make but I think it's fun.  

The little hearts coming out of the chimney are from the Elementals #2 - Lacey Hearts Frames (set of 4).  They are the perfect size for heart smoke puffs!  And the love...sigh...I LOVE this die! :)  It is gorgeous!  It is actually part of a set of 2 (the word "you" is also included) and is called Handwritten Love You.  Seriously...I wish I had handwriting like that! :)

A Perfect Pair: Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 3

Welcome back to day 3 of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Erin Schreiner's blog and if you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog!  There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning! 

First up today is a pair of cards.

Both of these were made with the super cute Perfect Pairs stamp set.  Now, I'm not one who usually enjoys coloring images but I have to honestly admit that I had a lot of fun with these!  They are small and very easy to color and so super cute that who can resist them?!  So, if you are not a colorer at heart, these may be the perfect sized set for you!

For this one I used the Cover Up Die: Center Point Chevron as an impression plate.  (Someone asked last time how to do this.  All you have to do is change your cutting plates to how you would for an embossing folder.  My sandwich using the Big Shot is my multi-purpose platform with no tabs, cutting plate, rubber mat, cardstock, die facing down, cutting plate on top.)   

I cut the tag with one of the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag dies and then used the single line from the Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangles set to "stitch" the line.  I colored the images with copics and added details with Sakura Gel pens.  For the fries, I first added a light yellow with the gel pens and then I colored over the top of that with several layers of yellow copics.  I liked that it made the fries nice and bright and vivid and also gave them a little texture. 

This card is very similar obviously.  I did cut my card base a little less wide than usual so my tag could fit over the side and still fit into an envelope.  I used my copics to color the images again.

For my last release card, I cut those cool side stitches into my card base using the new Stitched Mats: Side-Stitched Rectangles.  I love how the largest one just stitches the slits into the card base and doesn't actually make a cut.  I embossed the sentiment from the Love is All You Need stamp set onto the card base (using Judikins Pink Twinkle embossing powder) and also embossed several different colors of lips onto vellum from the Smooches set and cut them out.  I placed the lips in an envelope included in the previously released Mini Envelope Dies & Accessories set.
