Sparkle & Shine

Today I'm sharing two cards using one layout but 2 color schemes.  The set that I've used is Be Wild by Catherine Pooler. 

Here's the set of cards.  You can see that I've used very similar layouts for each one.  I started by stamping the sentiment from the Be Wild stamp set in the corner and then I started adding the flowers around it.  

For this first card the color scheme I used was: Limoncello, Flirty Fuchsia, Be Mine, Orange Twist, All that Jazz, Tiki Torch, Garden Party & Lime Rickey.

For this card I used Flirty Fuchsia, All that Jazz, Royal Treatment, Tiara, Pixie Dust, Sweet Sixteen & Mardi Gras ink.  

New Ink Colors

All four new ink colors have now been introduced!

Hello Spring...Please Stick Around!

A few days ago it was Spring.  Today it sounds like Spring outside as I listen to the rumbling thunder and hear the rain coming down in sheets but it does not feel like Spring at all!  It's only 45 degrees outside. The sandals I wore to work this morning were not appropriate attire for this weather!  That's a cold Spring day in Kansas!  However, I still want to celebrate Spring and am dreaming the 60's and 70 degree weather back soon so how about a butterfly card?  There's nothing that says Spring and renewal better than a butterfly!

Hello Spring...Please Stick Around!

For this card I started by stamping the background with the BFF Background stamp with Be Mine ink.  While it was still wet I quickly embossed the design with Wanderlust Embossing Powder (still my favorite embossing powder ever!).  This gives the background such a nice shine and sparkle!  I die cut into the background using the In Flight Butterfly die and then inserted a butterfly that I had die cut with the Scroll Butterfly die.   They fit together so nicely! 

I was able to turn the inside piece into a shaker card by adding a piece of acetate over the top of the In Flight Butterfly cut out piece before adhering the Scroll Butterfly insert on top.  I used some chunky glitter that I've had in my stash for years as the filler for the shaker card.  It works perfectly with the Wanderlust Embossing Powder!

Here's another view of the shaker portion of the card.  The sentiment is from the Faithful Flutterings stamp set (ON SALE NOW!!!) and I stamped it using Juniper Mist ink.
