You're One of a Kind

So far on my blog this week I've covered Fall & Christmas and now I'm going to share a card that is just plain fun! :)

Donuts About You wm

I have to admit that I kind of love this card!  I mean donuts with eyes?  How can you resist that?  LOL!  When I got my Lil' Inker Designs Eat More Donuts stamps and dies, this was the first card I made using them. The paper with the sprinkles just seemed to fit so well with sprinkled donuts too!

I love the little die that cuts out sprinkles too!  So cute!!  And the sentiments in this set are adorable!

I used this photo for inspiration.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend!!

Triangle Trees

Did you get a chance to check out Clearly Whimsy's new release last week?  There were a lot of great new sets released! One of my favorites which is SO very versatile was the Tremendous Triangles set. I really like this set and so I pulled it out to make a Christmas themed card this time around.

Jen Tremendouse Triangles Christmas

I stamped various sizes of the triangles and embossed them.  Some I stamped directly on the card base and some I die cut out using the coordinating Tremendous Triangles die set and then stamped on to the die cut and embossed.  I also embossed several of the different sizes of snowflakes from the Sparkle & Shine stamp set in white.

I made a snowy, glittery hill using one of the dies from the Stitched Border Die set.  From this angle you can see the dimension of the trees and hill.  The sentiment stamped in gray at the bottom is from the Scandi Christmas set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Flying By to Say Hi!

Hello everyone!! Boy is it windy today here in Kansas!  It reminds me of Pooh's Blustery Day that my kiddos use to watch when they were really little! :)

I found a perfect challenge to play along with for this Fall, blustery day!  This week at The Card Concept the theme is "Thank" Fall.

It didn't take too much to be inspired by this theme considering when I step out the door there are leaves blowing everywhere!

Birch Flying By to Say Hi

I pulled out my Frantic Stamper Small Birch Tree die and cut it out with white cardstock to make the birch trees. I also cut the trees in the dark gray cardstock that I used for my outer frame to fill in the "holes" in the bark.   I love the photos of birch trees with yellow leaves so that is the direction that I went with this card.  I cut "leaves" from 3 different shades of yellow.  I needed small leaves but didn't actually have a leaf die the right size until I realized that the hearts in the Singing in the Rain die set would work perfectly! Score!  I adhered them with micro glue dots which I love to use to adhere small die cuts and sequins with!

To make the leaf trail I used a tool that has been gathering dust lately, my Paper Piercer.  I cut my dark gray layer and my light gray layer out with the Elementals #1 die set.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but I popped up the light gray inside stitched panel with dimensionals so it is slightly raised from the frame.  I cut out the outside frame 3 times and glued it together so it has a slight dimension to it as well without adding a lot of bulk.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Flying By set which I embossed with Mustard Zing Embossing powder.

I'm also suppose to explain what card style I used for this card.  That is hard for me but I'm going to say Clean & Layered.

Clearly Whimsy Stamps Release Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Clearly Whimsy October 2014 Stamps Release!

Today we have some more great sets to share with you!  All of the new stamps & dies that we are sharing are available now in the Whimsy storeMy post today is all about the holidays.  Since yesterday was Halloween I am going to start there!

Jen Carter 11.1 Scandi Christmas, Penguin Fun

When I was playing with the Penguin Fun dies I noticed that one of them looked an awful lot like a ghost.  I love getting more bang for my buck so I took that die and stamped the penguin eyes onto it.  I also used a light gray copic marker to outline the ghost.  I used the new Scandi Christmas stamp set to decorate the tag.  I stamped one of the borders included in the set repeatedly in Halloween colors, some of which are covered up by the ghosts.  I cut the "sweet" with the Sweet as Candy Large Word Die.

Now moving on to Christmas...

Jen Carter 11.1 Scandi Christmas, Christmas Die

I love making non-traditional Christmas cards with non-traditional Christmas colors.  I love celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, but I just get so tired of red & green.  I like mixing it up a little!  So that is what I did with this card.  I used one of the border strips from Scandi Christmas and embossed each row in a different color.

I added some vellum, attaching it by wrapping the backs around the backside of the card mat.  I then attached the beautiful Christmas Large Word die that I cut out of red glitter paper.  I embossed the 'Merry" from the Scandi stamp set and then added some groupings of colorful sequins to match the embossed stripes.

Along with this release Clearly Whimsy is also announcing a new challenge blog called ShowCASe Your Style Challenge blog with the first challenge starting TODAY!!  Here's a little about the challenge: "Our new challenges will be dedicated to Clean & Simple stamping and card making and is brought to you by Clearly Whimsy Stamps. New challenges will post every other Saturday by 8am ET. Our awesomely talented design team will be using Clearly Whimsy Stamps clear sets and coordinating dies on all of their challenge inspirations. Today's challenge is to make a card using 3 of the items from the tic-tac-toe grid.

For the card above, I chose to use the sentiment, red & emboss squares on my card!  We'd LOVE to have you play along!
