Lil' Inker Designs Release Wrap-Up

Welcome back to the last day of the December Lil' Inker Designs release!  Today I have several more products to feature using the newest releases from LID.  I have heard lots of great things about this release! I'm glad you are liking what you're seeing because I sure do think Laura has outdone herself with this release!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Jingle!! It's been great having her join us this month!  Hasn't her work been spectacular?   If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.  There are prizes up for grabs! To be eligible to win, just leave a comment along the hop.  The more comments you leave, the better your chances are of winning!

My first card today features the Cover Up Die: Love, Love Tags, Floating Hearts Die & the Love Things Sentiment set.  I was looking for a perfect shade of pink for my card and wasn't coming up with what I wanted until...I found in my stash a large stack of origami paper with so many color choices.  In it was this pink paper.  The thing that is really nice about this paper is it is thin and it easily cuts these intricate dies!

I used the cool Love Tags die for my tag.  It's hard to see on this card (especially since Flickr isn't working and my photo is a little blurry) but it impresses hearts all around the tag!  So cute!  I stamped the adorable sentiment from the Love Things set.  The red glittery hearts were die cut from the Floating Hearts die.

This last card is a mini card measuring 4 1/4 x 3 that I die cut first with the Stitched Mats: Rectangle dies.  I then stamped the sentiment from the new set called The Fine Print.  The sentiment reads, "You're Not Just My Friend, You Are My Best Friend Ever".  I stamped the stripes with the Mom Dad Sentiment set and then tied some of my favorite Twinery twine, Gold Shimmer, around the card.

That wraps up our release!  Thank you so much for joining me this week! Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Today, You're the Star!

Hello!  Welcome to Day 2 of the December Lil' Inker Designs release! What do you think of this month's release?  Pretty fun!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Jingle!!  If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.  There are prizes up for grabs! To be eligible to win, just leave a comment along the hop.  The more comments you leave, the better your chances are of winning!

Today, my cards focus on a cool new sentiment set that I love!! It also coordinates very well with the Lil' Inker Stitched Star dies that were previously released!

Jen Far Out Groovy Front

I LOVE the chalkboard look!  When I first saw these stamps, that was the first thing that popped to my mind and so of course, I had to make at least one chalkboard card for this release.  I started with a piece of patterned paper that was already chalkboard like.  I then stamped the star image from Notebook Doodle Stamp Set repeatedly in random patterns and colors (with pigment ink).  The sentiments from the new Shiny Happy Sentiments Stamp Set and the flourishes, also from the Notebook Doodles set, were embossed.  I really like how well these two sets work together!  So fun!

Jen Bright You're the Star

Up next is a very simple card.  This also uses the new Shiny Happy Sentiments Stamp Set.  I LOVE the fonts and combinations in this set!  I added some glitter with the Wink of Stella pen to the light bulb but my photo doesn't capture the shine.  To finish it off I added a small piece of glitter tape to the side.

Here is the new stamp set featured on these cards:

Lil' Inker Love!

Hello!  Welcome to the December Lil' Inker Designs release! Hang on tight because I think you'll fall in love with the products this month!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Jingle!! Isn't it wonderful to have her joining us this month!  I can't wait to see everything she puts together! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.  There are prizes up for grabs! To be eligible to win, just leave a comment along the hop.  The more comments you leave, the better your chances are of winning!

Jen Love Story Glitter

For my first card today I stamped a lovely new sentiment from the Love Things stamp set and then
used the new Stripes Cover Up Die as an impression plate.  I love how it looks this way!  I used a copic marker to outline the bottom of the banner to help it pop out a little.  I also used the new Floating Hearts Die to die cut a glittery red heart that I added under the sentiment.  I really like the different sizes of hearts that you get with the Floating Hearts die!

Jen Love You Arrows

For this last card I used the Striped Cover Up Plate a little differently.  I only used half of it and cut off what I didn't need (which actually cuts it in half and leaves a perfect amount for a second card!).  That just took two tiny little snips with my scissors.  I then masked my sentiment from the Love Things set and stamped it in Raspberry Fizz ink.  The largest heart and arrows were die cut with the LID Of the Heart dies.  I added a tiny little heart cut from the new Floating Hearts die to the center of the gingham heart and finished the card off by tying a piece of Blossom twine from The Twinery.

If you'd like to see more of the new products I've featured on my post today, here they are:

Happy Birthday to Mom

Hello everyone!  My mom's birthday was a few weeks ago and I made a card for her to celebrate her big day.

HB Mom Diagonal

I really like how the card turned out (MINUS my crooked stamping of the sentiment that I didn't even notice until after I assembled everything:  just pretend I stamped it straight, OK?).  I used a lot of Lil' Inker Designs goodies on this card!  I used the "On the Diagonal" die to create the angles for the striped paper.  I LOVE this die!! I have used it in so many ways, so many sizes, for so many purposes!  It is so fun!  I also used the Mom Word Die for the die cut.  I love how it cuts out the heart for the "o".    The sentiment is from Mom Dad Sentiment set.

I am so in love with that minty/turquoisey paper!  It is from Michaels and comes in a multi pack.  LOVE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I  hope everyone is staying warm!  It has been freezing here lately!  When I left for work last Friday it felt like -4 degrees with the wind chill.  The highest I saw it get today was a whopping 17 degrees.  BRRRRRR!!!  I'm ready for a little warmer weather!

Wonderful Christmas

Hey everyone!  I hope you are all doing well!  It has been so cold here in Kansas this week!  Brrrr!!
And that seems like the perfect time to share a Christmas card!!  I can't believe we are less than a month away from Christmas!  The time has FLOWN!

wonderful Christmas 1.1

I think I mentioned recently, how much I LOVE the new die from Lil' Inker Designs called "On the Diagonal"!  This thing has so many uses!  I created this card with that die.  I started with two rectangles that I die cut from the LID Stitched Mats: Rectangles in different patterned papers.  I then used the On the Diagonal die to cut those both apart.  I love how there are two different patterned papers featured now.

Wonderful Christmas Closeup

I embossed the sentiment onto a chalkboard background that was stamped with the Hero Arts Chalkboard Background stamp that I love. I then added some reddish enamel dots and Shimmer twine from the Twinery to tie it all together.  I really like how the colors on this card all worked together.  That dark green cardstock is Pinefeather from PTI and it is the FIRST time I've ever used it that I can recall and I've had it for a long, long time! :)

I'm going to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"!

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope you are staying nice & warm!  Have a good day!

My Favorite: On the Diagonal!

Welcome to the wrap-up of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  I still have a few new products to share with you today and one of them is my FAVORITE of the entire release!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Tracey McNeely! Hasn't she done awesome this week!  I have so enjoyed seeing her creations and how she has used these products!! Thank you so much for joining us Tracey! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.

Mehndi Birthday

The first card I have to share with you today features a new stamp set called Modern Mehndi.  It has beautiful intricate flowers & leaves and fun sentiments too.  I embossed the flowers and leaves on black cardstock and it created a stunning background.  I love how it pops.  I used another new die, my FAVORITE from this release called On the Diagonal to create that diagonal corner.

Let me tell you a little bit about this fabulous die...

It doesn't look like much does it?  When I first got it, I wasn't even sure how to use it.  Once I figured it out, I couldn't STOP using it!  I don't know about you, but I struggle to cut two diagonal strips the same size, at the same angle.  It should be so easy, but it never turns out just right.  This die takes care of that!  It take the guess work out of it.  And...you can make the pieces big or little, depending on what style you are looking for.  You can use just the die piece itself, of you can cut 2 pieces a part and use the 2 negative pieces.  It's awesome!

AND...it cuts that wonderful LID stitching!!  You can't get THAT by just using a paper cutter!

Mehndi Birthday Closeup

So, for this card, I used the On the Diagonal die to cut a triangle border for my card (starting first with one of the Stitched Mats: Rectangle dies to create 2 sides of the triangle). LOVE this option!  I really like seeing that stitching all the way around the triangle!  It is such a simple, yet striking detail.  I popped the triangle panel up with pop dots and then added the strip of cardstock with the sentiment from the previously released Flags & Tags Stamp Set.  I tied a piece of Gunmetal twine from The Twinery to finish it off.

This last card showcases the new Modern Mehndi dies & the new Stitched Mat: Ovals dies

Mendi Diagonal Gorgeous

I started my card base with gray corners created using the On the Diagonal dies again.  I cut the Stitched Mats: Rectangle piece and then I cut that in 3 pieces with the diagonal die.  That created the triangle corners on the card.

Mendi Diagonal Gorgeous Closeup

I die cut several of the Mehndi flowers from patterned paper and then stamped them with the coordinating Modern Mehndi flower stamps.   I layered the die cut flowers to create 3D flowers and also added the leaves (I really like the leaf shape!).  I die cut one of the ovals from the new Stitched Mats: Ovals and then stamped the sentiment from the Modern Mehndi stamp set.

On a sad note, we are saying goodbye to two of our designers,  Isha Gupta & Taheerah Atchia.  I have enjoyed having them on the LID team and getting to know them each a little bit better.  It's sad to see them go, but please be sure to continue to visit their blogs!

That wraps up our release!  Thank you so much for joining me this week!  I'll be back next week to show you another project created with these new projects!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Falling Leaves = Joy

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  There are lots of fun products being released this month and I've heard a lot of great feedback that you are liking what you've been seeing!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Tracey McNeely! Did you see what she created yesterday?  It was adorable! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us today!   If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.  There are prizes up for grabs so be sure to leave comments on the blog posts!

I love Autumn & Spring!  The neutral temps...not too cold, not too hot.  The beautiful changing colors on the trees.  I love when the streets are filled with colorful leaves, undisturbed.  They are just so beautiful!  My card today found inspiration in those changing and falling leaves.

Leaves of Joy

I used a similar concept to what I used on the card I showed yesterday on this card.  First I cut the new Cover Up Die: Leaf  Pattern out of some fabulous new mint green/turquoise cardstock that I can't put down (here's a fair warning that you will be seeing it A LOT on my blog!!). I cut different patterned papers and replaced some of the leaves with the patterns.  I love how some of the leaves on this die are stitched in typical LID fashion!

Leaves of Joy Closeup

I cut the "joy" (have I said how much I like that die??) in black and then added a black strip to ground it.  I love the contrast that the black adds to the card, especially against that mint/turquoise  green.    I added a black rhinestone for the dot on the "j".  Can you believe that there is NO stamping on this card!! That doesn't happen for me very often!

(this "joy" die was released last month)

Swirling Around with Lil' Inker Designs

Welcome to another Lil' Inker Designs release!! There are some products that you're going to LOVE in this release that I'm excited to share with you!

The wind has been blowing HARD today here in Kansas and the leaves are swirling around all over the place!  It seems like the perfect time to introduce a new LID Cover Up Die to you called  Cover Up Die: Swirls.

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest desinger's blog Tracey McNeelyIf you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog

You are a Blessing

I love the options that are available with this die!  I chose to paper piece the cover up die this time using a combination of cardstock and patterned paper.  That sentiment is from a new stamp set called Modern Mehndi.  I used the previously released Folding Tag Die: Original for the tag and impressed part of a circle from Stitched Mats: Circles into the tag to create a place for the sentiment.  I just think that this cover up die is so original and fun!

Caring Hearts Card Drive

Hey everyone!  I am here with a very special post today for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  If you are following along in the hop, you should have come from my Lil' Inker Designs team member Isha Gupta's blog!  This drive is to collect holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes.  With the holidays quickly approaching, there are many elderly who live in these homes who really feel lonely or are missing their family. Wouldn't it be so awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

This is especially personal to me this year as my Grandma is sitting in a nursing home at this very minute.  And my faithful and loving Grandpa sits with her, every day, even though she cannot respond to him.  He's my hero.  So for them, for me, this is personal!  I'm so thankful that I can be a part of this this year!

For all the details on the card drive, you can visit Vera Yate's blog.

I created a holiday card for this drive using lots of Lil' Inker Designs goodies.

Joy 1.2

I started by making the chalkboard background and then I diecut the Joy word die from the mat.   I stamped some snowflakes from the Winter Greetings Stamp Set & the  Jolly & Joyful stamp sets.  The holly leaves were die cut with the Holly Jolly dies.  And last,l I tied a little piece of Platinum Shimmer Twine from the Twinery to the front.

What do you say?  Do you like to craft?  Do your kids like to craft?  Why not send some cards for this drive and be a blessing to someone who needs some love this Holiday season!

For details on how to participate, visit this post.

There are a lot of prizes for this hop (and even bigger prizes for the card drive itself)!  Winners will be selected from comments left on the participant's blogs (randomly), so the more blogs you comment on, the bigger your chances of winning will be!

To continue on in the blog, be sure to visit Sarah Jay's amazing blog!

A Little More Joy

Today is the wrap-up day for the Lil' Inker Designs holiday release!  I hope you've really liked the products that you've been seeing the design team showcase!  I know I sure had a lot of fun working with them!

I have two last cards to share with you today!  Bur first, if you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from Jeanne Jachna's blog!  Hasn't she impressed you with her work this week?  What a joy to have her joining us! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.

Traditional Joy

This card combines some other previously released products with the new "joy" die.  I used the Starry Sky Die to cut the stars in the Flags & Tags Banner die.  I also used the Spot On circle stamps with the Connected Circle Die to create a traditional Christmas colored banner.  The "joy" is cut with glitter paper (of course!).  To add a little more sparkle, I tied some Gold Shimmer twine from The Twinery around the middle.

Glad Tidings 1.1

This last card is way outside of my normal.  I don't usually use these colors but I was going for a more vintage look for this one.  I stamped several of the images from the Jolly & Joyful Sentiments set onto my patterned cardstock.  I embossed the sentiment, from Instant Camera Christmas, in gold.  The large Jingle Bell die was die cut and hung with shimmer twiner from The Twinery.

Thank you so much for joining us for this release!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Sparkle & Shine with Lil' Inker Designs!

It's Day 3 of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  I hope you've enjoyed what you've been seeing this week!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Jeanne Jachna! Isn't her work terrific?  If you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog.

Up today, I am showcasing another new stamp & die set that I have used on a few cards this week already, the Jolly & Joyful Sentiment stamp & Christmas Bits die set!

Sparkle & Shine

I love the little tree image in this stamp set (and there's a tree die to match!).  I stamped the tree repeatedly and then added some fun chunky glitter below. The sentiment is from a previously released set, Winter Greetings.  And that bow...ahhhh, so cute!  It is also a previously released die, Bow Die Mini.  I die cut it from white glitter paper.

Pink Christmas

When I make Christmas cards, I tend to like to use non-traditional Christmas colors.
For this card, I started with my pink base and added the sentiment from the Jolly Joyful Stamp set. I die cut "joy" from patterned paper and then added the enamel dots.

Pink Christmas Closeup

I added the new Christmas tree die to a snow hill that I created. I added a tiny die cut star from the previously released Starry Sky Die to the top of the tree. Isn't the tree so cute?

That's all I have for you today!  Be sure to come back one last day to see more projects from this release!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win one of two gift certificates to the Lil' Inker Designs store!!

Christmas Cover Up Die

Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs holiday release! If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Jeanne Jachna! Isn't her work terrific?  If you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog.

Today I am showcasing a new Christmas Cover Up Die!  It is very detailed and I think you're going to like it!

Glassine Christmas 1

Pretty cool die, huh!?  I die cut the Christmas Cover Up Die from patterned paper and attached it to a glassine bag.  I also die cut the medium sized new Jingle Bell and popped it up with dimensionals.

Glassine Christmas Side

The sentiment "to you and yours" and that pretty orange snowflake are included in the new Joyful Jolly Stamp set. Inside the bag I have a cookie!  It is a quick & easy gift!  The bag is closed with the clothes pin.

Christmas Cheer 1.3

I also used this cover up die on the front of a card.  I die cut the cover up die from a piece of glitter cardstock (I used a metal shim since the paper is a little thick and it worked perfectly!)  You don't need to add much to the card because the cover up die stands easily on its own.

Christmas Cheer Above

I added a few strands of colorful twine from The Twinery and that wonderful Lil' Inker Snowflake Die, die cut from white glitter paper, that I popped up with dimensional.

The new products that I featured in this post are:

It's time to send you on for more inspiration from the team!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win one of two gift certificates to the Lil' Inker Designs store!!
