Shining Star

Here's a card that is based on the one I showed yesterday only with a different color scheme and background.  If you remember yesterday's card I used swirls for the background and this time I chose polka dots.  For some reason, I am really enjoying using more gray colors.  Isn't that "star" font just awesome!  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Star Thanks

Here's a simple, simple card I made with PTI's Star Prints stamp set and a retired TAC stamp set.  It doesn't look like it in the photo so much, but the ink on the star and the orange paper (Terracotta Tile) match perfectly!  The swirls ares stamped with VersaMark ink.

This would be a super simple card to make multiples of!  And, if you don't like stars, just add a flower or button or other shape where the star is.  It could be made with any of your favorite color combinations as well!

Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Supplies
Stamps:  PTI Star Prints, TAC Swoops & Swirls (retired)
Paper:  DCWV Gray, TAC Ivory, PTI Terracotta Tile
Ink:  VersaMark, PTI Terracotta Tile, Charcoal Palette
Other:  Pop dot, Fiskars Border Punch

Thank you Berry Much

Here's another thank you card for you.  It is missing something and when I figure out what, I'll fix it.

I've admired this particular strawberry image for a long time now.  Isn't it cute!  I love how the top is stamped seperately from the bottom of the strawberry so it is so simple to ink each with whatever color I choose!  And, being able to see through the stamp it is so easy to place them exactly where they fit nicely together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  I am back today participating in an Angel Company blog hop hosted by Paperwings!  The theme this time around is Valentine's Day and I have two cards to share with you for this event.

This one is my favorite of the two cards.  I really like how soft and femine it is.  Oh, and the ribbon doesn't hurt either.  That's another find from Hobby Lobby!  This card uses the Angel Company's "I Heart You" set and "Sending a Latte".

Up next is another valentine's day card but at the very end, I ended up adding a "thank you" sentiment, also included in the "I Heart You" stamp set since I tend to need more thank you cards than anything else.

The background is from the Level A hostess set "Build a Background".  I think I would have liked this card better if I would have used a softer color for the background hearts.  I used a VersaMagic ink pad around the outside of the card to try and soften it up a little.

In the photo above you can see the layers a little more easily.  I used a very thin pop dot to pop up the kraft label because the ribbon wouldn't allow it to lay completely flat.  The large heart is also popped up on pop dots.

And, here is the inside:

I just kept this super simple inside.  I really like the "Thank You" sentiment that is included with this set.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed the cards.  I'd love to hear what you think!  You can find the supply list at the bottom of this post.

Sneak Peeks

I was asked to design with 3 sets from The Angel Company's newest release "Serendipty Street".  Many of my favorite samples weren't used in the publication, and I wanted to share a few with you now!  So, here we go!

This was my FAVORITE sample!  I just loved how the "ribbon berries" turned out!  I had the panel all colored and just felt it was missing something and then this idea just struck!  I punched small holes in the panel, pulled the ribbon through the hole and then knotted it and pulled the other end back down through the hole to the back.

You can also see that the bird is paper pieced.

I colored the leaves and branch and the bird UNDER the paper pieced part with my colored pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS).

In the photo above, you can see the dimension on the card.  The bird is popped up and so is one layer of the nestabilities label die.  The ribbon is tied between the two nestabilities layers.

This next sample uses my FAVORITE TAC set "Victorian Elements".   I was so thrilled when I was asked to design with this set.

I just love the feel of this card.  All the elements together just make me happy! :) I wish I still had it. LOL!

The main tag image is embossed with white embossing powder and the background is stamped with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  The wavy edges on the tag and border are cut with my Cloud scissors and I punched tiny holes in the scalloped edge on the tag.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll share more samples that didn't make it later on!  Be sure to stop back Sunday evening for a Valentine's Day blog hop!

The buttons are just so much fun!  How cute are they as flower centers!

Above is a closeup of the card.  You'll notice that I again stamped the background on the melon berry & aqua mist cardstock.  I LOVE how it looks like I purchased it in the store!

A 5-Minute Card

I love simple & fast!  Here's a simple 5-minute card for you!

Don't you just love those colors together?  The background is stamped with PTI's "Simple Valentine" in Claret ink.  I think I repeated it about 4 times.  That's it and you have your own background paper!

Here's a closeup of the main image.  The circle "love" is also from the "Simple Valentine" set and I stamped it in Palette Noir so it would pop.

Now wouldn't it be easy to make a bunch of these?  And, you could use this same theme for any number of occassions...wedding, valentine's day, etc.  Thanks for stopping by!  I'd love to hear what you think!

Here's a closeup of the flower buttons:

Little Bird Thanks

This is a very unlike "me" card I think!  Very busy and just...different.  I challenged myself to use gray on my card...gray cardstock and gray ink. The bird image is from TAC's newest Serendipity publication and it includes scripture verses with the set which I like.  I was fortunate enough to get to design with this one for the newest publication, but my card wasn't chosen.  I will show you the cards I made with this set soon I hope.

The background is from PTI's "Turning a New Leaf"' set which I just happen to {heart} so much!!  SOOOO many things that you can do with this set.

And, did you see the fun ribbon?  Well, let me give you a closeup!

The ribbon has rhinestones on it!  I went ribbon hunting at Hobby Lobby recently and I picked up 3 rolls of unique-to-me ribbon.  The first roll you saw on a card the other day...that YUMMY brown and white striped ribbon.  This is the second roll. The third roll you will see very soon.  This ribbon was pretty hard to work with because it is so stiff.  As I kept trying to tie a pretty bow with it, eventually some of the rhinestones fell off and I had to throw that piece away.  Finally I improvised and made my ribbon look like a bow although it's really just folded over and then tied in the center with the scrapper's floss and a button.  I adhered it to the card with glue dots...which are a MUST HAVE item!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Let me know what you think of this so-unlike-Jennifer card!! :)  Have a good day!

Thank You..in Dots!

Here's another simple card.  I really like this color combo!  Blue & green is always a good one, but this time I added a splash of red.

How about some tiny, tiny polka dots this time.  I used the polka dot theme in many elements on this card...the background, the frame, the apple.

Thanks for coming by!

It's All About the Ribbon

I made a card tonight and designed it around this ribbon!  I know, how funny!  BUT...I am LOVING all the striped ribbon I have been seeing on cards lately and today after being locked in the house almost all week long with sick kids, I finally had a few hours on my own this afternoon!!  So, my first stop was to search for striped ribbon!

I was disappointed when I could only find the ribbon I wanted in 1 1/2 inch width but I am thrilled with how it looks on this card.  (Hey!  It's not the ribbons fault that I glued my layer on crooked! LOL!!)

Isn't it pretty?  I love using stamps to make my own background!  This background is made with a stamp from PTI's "Turning a New Leaf" set and Belle Rose Palette ink on a soft pink Bazzill cardstock.  I love the look it made!

Here's another view:

Isn't that ribbon soooo pretty!?  I LOVE it!!  I am going to have to go back to Hobby Lobby and buy it in some other colors too!  But, since I use brown all the time, I figured that that was the color to start with!

Hope you enjoyed this card!  Thanks for coming by!  I'd love to hear what you think!

From the Heart

I've been having so much fun lately creating cards.  This is one that I started yesterday and put the finishing touches on today (in between taking care of my sick little girl).  I am loving this color combo and paper!

The stamps come from several different companies:  Paper Trey Ink (PTI), Verve & The Angel Company.

I love that big scallop at the bottom of the card!  And see those bright white dots on the circle scallop?  That comes from one amazing white gel pen!  You can order them, with FREE shipping, from this store, Trendy Right Now.  Thanks again to Laurie for sharing that great find!

Thanks for stopping by!  Let me know what you think!

Oh, and you might have noticed my new punch...that's a Christmas present from my brother (via a Joann's gift certificate...istn'that nice!!).  It's the Crest Border punch from Fiskars.

Appreciation

I am just loving this card...and these stamps!  This card uses all Verve Stamps.  Isn't the color combination pretty?  I started with a piece of patterned paper that I've been hoarding because I love it so much.  But, my friend Laurie made a card that ROCKS (LOL!! Sorry, Laurie that was for you!) using patterned paper and she inspired me to pull mine out and put it to good use!  After I picked my patterned paper, I just played the matching game until I found a color combo that I loved.  I think I scored!

The coral patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Cherry Hill collection.  I stamped a background onto the blue paper.  The sketch is from Page Maps. Isn't the ribbon pretty?  It's from Really Reasonable Ribbon and they have LOTS of ribbon to choose from at very affordable prices!

Above is a closeup of the layers.  I used a very thin pop dot to pop up the large coral circle so that it would lay better with the ribbon under it.

Hope you enjoyed this card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Treasure Your Friends

This is a card I made for two challenges:  a color combo challenge by Laurie and Heather's sketch challenge.

The color challenge was to use these colors on a card:  Turquoise, Brown, Kraft & Ivory.  This is one of my FAVORITE color combos (I'm sure you've probably noticed)!  I'm not very happy with how the colors photographed (they aren't this harsh in real life and they really do all match).

Here is the sketch I was going off of:

And, here's my card (a little blurry too, sorry about that)

I used the flower punch to punch out two different patterns of paper and then crumpled them up.  Then, I adhered them, slightly off center with glue dots and added the button with scrapper's floss on top.

I tried a new adhesive this time and it stick well and fast...too fast.  Thus, my top layers are crooked.

Hope you're staying warm!  We're heading for a hard freeze and am so tired of it being cold all the time! :)

Stamps: Thinking of You
Inks: Haystack & Burnt Umber Palette
