Lil' Inker Designs April Release: Day 1

Hello and welcome to the April Lil' Inker Designs release! The new products are already available in the Lil' Inker Designs store so you can start shopping now Yay!

Brushed Plaid Hello
Let's start with a Public Service Announcement: If you don't purchase anything else this release, you NEED to purchase the Brushed Plaid stamp set...seriously!! It's that good and so versatile!  You might need to see it to believe it so here you go.

The Color of Spring
For this first card with the Brushed Plaid stamp set I wanted to create a soft feel.

Jen Carter Brushed Plaid Spring Wreath Hello wm

I first stamped the Brushed Plaid stamp background in a soft pink, Sugar by Fresh Ink, and then stamped the gray lines for emphasis, Slate by Fresh Ink.  This is an amazing background stamp!  I love how it looks stamped in bold colors, stamped in rainbow colors and stamped in soft colors too.  Believe me when I tell you that this stamp is calling your name. 😁

For the focal point, I die cut one of the beautiful wreaths in the Spring Wreath die set with white cardstock.  I also die cut a few of the leaves included in that die set and adhered to the wreath.  I die cut the Hello Word Die three times and stacked them together to create dimension.  The Hello die set also includes a shadow for the hello that I didn't use here.

Stronger Together
We all strive to be the best we can be and to love our neighbors.  In today's society it is sometimes hard to find love and unity.  This set promotes coming together, working together, dreaming together and living in peace with one another.  We will all have differences, strive for different goals, have different passions but if we choose to love one another as Christ has loved us, we can make a difference in our world, one person at a time.

Jen Carter One Love  Stronger wm

For this card I started by die cutting the heart with the One Love dies on Midnight cardstock.  I then stamped the heart with the coordinating One Love stamp set and embossed it using Zing Glitter Gold embossing powder. I die cut the Love die and the banner die with the One Love dies and then stamped the sentiment from the One Love stamp set in Aquatini ink.

Catherine Pooler's Celebrate Friends Stamp of Approval

It's time to celebrate friends with a NEW Stamp of Approval Box from Catherine Pooler!  Welcome to Day 1 of the blog hop featuring this fantastic collection of celebration goodies!  For the first time ever you get to pick what is in your box!  Do you want coffee...or tea...or both?  And there's some add-ons that you will also want to grab a hold of too!  This collection will be available on Tuesday, April 24th!

Introducing the Celebrate Friends Collection
This Stamp of Approval box is packed FULL of great products.  And guess what?  There is a NEW INK color (the actual color is a surprise!) included in the collection!  Yippee!!
If you are unsure what the Stamp of Approval Box is, it is a quarterly hand picked, exclusive collection of products that were designed just for the box. The stamps, dies and other fun products in the Stamp of Approval Collection won’t be released for individual sale for several months over at the Catherine Pooler store

Be sure to subscribe to the Wait List so you will be emailed the purchase link when the collection goes on sale on April 24th! These boxes do sell out quickly so if you want I'd suggest getting it now or it may be gone!

Yay! Hooray! Celebrate!
My favorite stamp set in the collection is probably the one I used to create this first card called Punctuated Party stamp set.  There are so many fun possibilities with this set!

Jen Carter CP Punctuated Party Yay

I love the color combo on this card.  Something a little different for me and unexpected and it just works with these stamps.  I used Juniper Mist (this is such a pretty blue!), Party Dress, Lime Rickey, Sauna & It's a Girl to stamp the 1/2 circles on White Premium cardstock.  I offset each one as I stamped.  After I completed the pattern I added in some black dots from the same set.  The cute speech bubble and YAY! are also stamps in the set.

For the bottom portion of the card I die cut the super cute Hooray & Celebrate word dies from the collection out of Catherine Pooler Vellum (I love the thickness of this vellum, it is perfect!) and attached them over the top of the background.

What is in YOUR Cup?
Each of the team members was sent either the tea collection or the coffee collection to work with.  I am representing Team Tea!  I don't usually drink hot tea but I do love cold peach tea...have you tried the peach tree at Olive Garden?  YUM!

A Cup of Tea Solves Everything
I love, love, love the photos where cups are stacked and knew when I first saw the set that that was something I wanted to do with this set.  The tea cups in this set are so cute!

Jen Carter CP Cuppa Tea Scattered Circles Pastel

I started by using the Scattered Circles Stencil in the collection.  I inked it up with Sweet Sixteen, Mint to Be, Shea ButterIt's a Girl making sure to overlap the colors slightly to help with flow. I die cut the tea cuts & tea pot with the add-on Cuppa Tea Dies (I totally recommend getting these, it'll make cutting out the handles so much easier!!) and then stamped the mugs & tea pot with the same colors.  There's possibly a new ink color somewhere on this card, can you find it? :)

I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock with Sweet Sixteen Mint to Be ink, masking off the "solves" so I could stamp it in 2 colors.  This was super easy to do using the Misti.  That cute little aqua border is a border die included in the collected called Bordering Sweet dies (there's 2 in the set).

Spring Sunflowers Thank You // Right at Home Stamps + Catherine Pooler Ink Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello!  I am excited to be a part of a special collaboration blog hop featuring Right at Home Stamps & Catherine Pooler ink.  Right at Home recently started carrying the awesome Catherine Pooler ink line and today we are showing off the inks with Right at Home products!  Be sure to leave a comment on my post because a random commenter will get to choose an item of their choice from the newest Right at Home release.

Spring Sunflowers
I am a Kansas girl and I love sunflowers!  When Right at Home released the Sunflower stamp set, I knew I needed it!  I also knew that I wanted to create with that set for this blog hop but it's Spring now, not Fall when you typically see sunflowers.   Well, needless to say I played with lots of Catherine Pooler ink colors to put together some "Spring" sunflowers while also honoring the traditional colored sunflower as well.

Jen Carter CP RAH Spring Sunflower Thanks

I die cut three of the large sunflowers and using my Misti and the stamping guide that Nicole has put together (found here) started stamping the flowers & leaves in various ink colors.  My favorites, shown here were stamped with:
  • Pink Flower: It's a Girl & Be Mine; Leaves: Mint to Be & Seafoam
  • Yellow: Sauna & Tiara; Leaves: Garden Party
  • Coral: Polished & Tutti Frutti; Leaves: Garden Party & Lime Rickey
Now let's talk about that background!  I really love the Watercolor Background stamp from Right at Home.  Here I stamped it with Tiara ink but once I stamped this one I kept going and going and going and sometime soon I'll show you a whole card set I've put together using these same stamp sets in lots of fun colors!

The sentiment is from another gorgeous stamp set called Script Greetings that has four large script words/phrases and coordinating smaller sentiments to go along with them.

Eat, Sleep, Create Mixed Media Class at StampNation

There is a fun new class going on over at StampNation that teaches all about Mixed Media called Eat, Sleep, Create.  This was a little "scary" for me because it was outside the box but once I loosened up, I had a lot of fun.  This class also includes tips and tricks on Bible journaling and I've shared a sneak peek at the end of this post.  The full project can be seen at StampNation.

Jen Carter CP SN Mixed Media

Here's the card I created for this class.  I used Distress Oxide inks to create the background: Picked Raspberry, Lucky Clover, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers & Cracked Pistachio.  I also sprayed some Sparkle Shimmer on it once it dried to give it some sparkle.  The stamps in the background are from Lil' Inker Designs Unstoppable stamp set.  I added a little gold glitter washi tape also.

The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled and is called Hope Anchors.  It embossed in black on a piece of Catherine Pooler Vellum that was die cut with one of the Lil' Inker Designs Dual Dotted Rectangle dies.  I added some Iridescent Bubbles from Studio Katia to finish the card off.

Here's a sneak peek of my Bible journaling project that I've shared on StampNation.
