Welcome to another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week's challenge is to use the color inspiration photo that has been provided (scroll down to see the photo).  I thought it fit the ombre trend well!

Smarty Pants

Birthday Balloon

For this card I pulled out the Smarty Pants stamp set to create the pencil, scribble & sentiment.  This is one of my favorite, go to sets from the Clearly Whimsy line!  I then used three stars from the Birthday Balloon stamp set and stamped them on my cardstock in a triangle pattern.  I thought that this photo fit well with the ombre theme so I added a strip of my favorite Striped Ombre Paper to the side.

Welcome to another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week's challenge is to use the sketch that has been provided (shown at the end of my post).

I decided to pull out a set that showcases one of my favorite summertime fruits for this sketch!  The sentiment was made using the large "sweet" stamp from the Sweet as Candy: Sweet Sentiments stamp set.  I inked it up on my block and then spritzed it with water to get the watercolor look to match the "xoxo's" that were on the top of my patterned paper strip.  After I finished that I stamped the "friend" from the Into the Woods set.

For the strawberries I watercolored using distress inks.  I used my water pen to pick up colors from three different ink pads and scribbled them onto white watercolor paper.  I then used the cool strawberry die from the Fruit Trio Die Set (gotta tell you that I love this die!!) to die cut the strawberry bottoms.  I used the same technique (only one ink color) for the strawberry tops.  To finish them off I added a tiny bit of glue and sprinkled some glitter on them.

ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #14

Welcome to another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the challenge is to make a project using the color combination shown at the end of this post.

I took this challenge pretty literally.  When I saw the graphic I thought it would be perfect with Clearly Whimsy's Distressed Backgrounds & Ink Splats stamp set.  After cutting out the panel, I stamped one of the background images with 5 different colors of purple & gray ink.

I really like this Sweet as Candy Large Word die from Clearly Whimsy!  I cut it out twice and offset the top die just a hair to create a little colored shadow.

Welcome to another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the challenge is to make a project with "thank you" as the theme.  

I knew right away what I wanted to do for this challenge!  I started by stamping clouds from the Happy Hello set in both white and blue inks to create a shadow.  

I die cut the Thanks Large Word Die with glitter paper and then adhered it to a few more die cut words to make it thick so it would be easy to tie the balloons onto it without tearing. I die cut and then stamped the balloons from the  Happy Everything stamp set & the Party Time Die Set and then adhered them where I wanted with the string attached.

ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #10

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the theme is a color challenge and you can find the inspiration color photo at the end of my post.

I am sneak peeking a new set that will be available in the Whimsy Stamps store, through the Clearly Whimsy line, next week on Thursday, March 12 called Circles, Circles, Circles!  

When I first saw the inspiration photo all I could think about was how perfect these new stamps would work with it!  There are so many sizes and kinds of circles to choose from and so many ways to use them!  For this card I pulled out my aquacolor crayons.  I scribbled the colors I wanted to use on the back of an old CD case and then lightly squirted them with water.  I then dipped the different sizes of circles in the mixture and stamped on watercolor paper and this is what I got.

I die cut the Hello Word Die (available now) from patterned paper and stacked several other hellos die cut from cardstock underneath for dimension.  I adhered a raspberry stripe of cardstock behind my focal image and added some sequins to finish the card off.

ShowCASe Your Style Flying High

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the theme is based on an inspiration photo that I have shared at the end of the post.

I took inspiration from the photo by using the hot air balloons & clouds and also through the colors in the photo.  I stamped the balloons from the new Clearly Whimsy Up, Up, & Away stamp set and cut them out (there is a coordinating die set available here too).  I stamped the fun little banner onto the largest balloon that is included in the stamp set.  The sentiment is from Up, Up and Away Sentiments.  I also die cut those wonderful clouds using the new Stitched Clouds die set.  I love those swirly clouds!

ShowCASe Your Style Color Challenge

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the theme is based on colors!

I love this color scheme!

This card uses the same style from a card I made two weeks ago for the last ShowCASe Your Style challenge. You can see that card here.  This time I used the new colors and birthday stamps and moved everything over to the right slightly.  I love how choosing a few different items can transform a card with a new look!  The more versatile, the better!

To create this card, I once again used the wavy Stitched Border Trio die to create the shape on the front.  Then, I stamped the balloons on the cardfront with the Happy Everything set.  I die cut the balloons with dies from the Party Time die set.  The sentiment comes from the Sweet as Candy - Sweet Sentiments stamp set.  For the finishing touch, I stamped a line using the Basic Backgrounds & Borders 1 set.

I lined the inside of the card with turquoise paper to give it some contrast and pop of color.

A Whole Lotta Happy!

It's time for another challenge from the ShowCASe Your Style Challenge blog!  This week the challenge is based on a sketch. 

I used this adorable penguin from the Penguin Fun stamp set & coordinating Penguin Fun die set for my focal image.  I colored his feet & beak with copics.  I really like how this set includes several options for things to put on his head: earmuffs, hat & antlers! 

The sentiment is from the Happy Everything stamp set which is so very versatile!  Here I embossed it in white.  My snowflake background was created with embossing paste and a Heidi Swapp stencil.  My patterned paper is from the Basic Grey paper pack Evergreen.

ShowCASe Your Style: Merry & Bright

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style blog challenge!  This week the challenge is based on a photo!

 From this photo I was inspired by the bulb ornaments & some of the colors of the bulbs.

I went in a pastel route with the color scheme for this one.  I stamped the light bulb cord from the Clearly Whimsy Sparkle & Shine stamp set.  I then stamped each light bulb with white pigment ink and then stamped the colored light bulbs on top of the white to help it stand out more.  

The sentiment, also from the Sparkle & Shine stamp set was embossed with pink embossing powder.

ShowCASe Your Style Color Challenge

Hello!!  Today starts Challenge #2 for the new ShowCASe Your Style challenge blog!  The theme for the next two weeks is a photo inspiration and it is a gorgeous photo!

Here is my card based on the photo.

Whimsy Stamps has the perfect die for this photo challenge!  It's called the Holiday Gift Tag die set and it is on sale for $3.00!  I used embossing powder and washi tape to make the stripes on the ornament.  I also made one stripe with scor-tape and glitter.

The "Merry" was stamped in black and is from the Christmas Greetings stamp set. I die cut the Christmas Large Word die from gold metallic paper.  To finish the card off I added sequins in assorted sizes.

Now I do have to say that this isn't the cleanest card I've ever made.  I was so focused on the inspiration photo that I forgot to keep it clean.  I'll try to do better next time! :)
