Feel Better

Hello!  Today I have a card to share just for fun!

Jen Carter Happy Bird Feel Better

I love the new WPlus9 Happy Birds set!! When I first saw it, it just kept calling my name.  The funny thing is that coloring images has never really been my thing but for some reason this set was different!  I played with a friend's Zig Pens and loved them and this card was born!

Jen Carter Happy Bird Feel Better Closeup 1

I needed some get well soon cards, as my stash was low, and I thought an upside down bird upsetting a pile of leaves seemed like the perfect thing to cheer up someone who was feeling a little down.  The sentiment I used is from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Hand Lettered Encouragement".  The watercolor panel is die cut from a Lil' Inker Designs Dual Dotted Rectangles die.

I'm entering this card in this week's Cupcakes Inspirations Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Amazing

****This is my second post today.
If you are here for my Lil' Inker Designs post, please scroll down!  Thanks!*****

Hey!! I hope you are doing well and staying warm!  We are having a lot of snow right now.  My husband just shoveled the sidewalks and driveway and no sooner is he finished than it is covered again.  Good news...NO school today so the kids and I are home! Yippee!  So, you know what that means...time to stamp!

Stamps & Inks For Sale:
I listed quite a few new stamp sets & some Amuse/Fresh Ink Pads that I have for sale today in my Stamps for Sale tab above. Be sure to check them out!

Birthday Celebration
WPlus9 is having their 4th Birthday Celebration and I made a card to play in their first challenge which is "Comfort Zone".  We were asked to make a card in our signature style using our favorites.  I chose my all time favorite WPlus9 stamp set, a favorite new layout and a favorite new color combo!

Wplus9 Simply Amazing 1.1

I can't even tell you how many pictures of this card I took before I got one that you could see OK!  Since I chose to stamp the sentiment in a light mint colored ink it was hard to capture in the picture.

This was my first set from WPlus9 and I still love it!

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a great day!

Floral Thanks

Hello! Ever have one of those days where nothing goes as you had planned?  Well, that was today!  We were suppose to head to Wichita and do some shopping, eat out, etc but my 5 year old daughter had other plans.  She was a crabby little thing and I knew going out with her today would not work.  At. All.  So...I had a chance to stamp instead (which isn't a bad thing!).

I decided to play along with a couple of challenges which I've really enjoyed doing lately.  I combined two challenges, the Pinspired Challenge #11 and the Cloud9 Blog Hop challenge.

Flower Garden Thanks

This is what I came up with for the challenges.  I love stamping those WPlus9 Fresh Floral flowers!  I had so many inks open on my desk!  The "thanks" die is from Paper Smooches, I think it is so fun!  I am really enjoying the word dies lately!

This is the Pinspired challenge photo that I based my card on.

I'm also entering this in the Cloud9 Blog Hop.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you all have a happy Father's Day!

Two Hearts Become One

Hey everyone!! I wanted to share a card I made for a new challenge blog for WPlus9 called Cloud9.

I needed a card for a wedding and I thought that this set was the perfect thing to use! The card is super simple but still elegant.  I think that this Mehndi Medallions set was the first set I ever purchased from WPlus9 and it is still my favorite!   There are just so many options on what can be done with it!

This is the inspiration photo that we were basing our cards on.  I used the colors from the photo as my inspiration and also the different sized flowers.

If you'd like to join in and play along, you still have time!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wee Memories Challenge #82: Mini Cards

Welcome to another challenge for Wee Memories where I have the privilege of guest designing this month.  If you didn't see Jenny's announcement earlier in the week, you might want to take a peek here as this month will be the last month for the Scrappy Saturday Challenges.  :(  So be sure to play along!

The sponsor for this week is My Favorite Things.

This was a fun theme this week and it is hosted by my dear friend Amy Kolling!  We were to make mini sized cards.  Mine are all 3x3 and I made a set of 5.

I tried to stick with a consistent color scheme and also with the pockets being front and center on each card.

This is probably my favorite of the group.  I love this little snowman peeking out of the pocket!  It looks like he is surprising someone with a special delivery.

Here are the other cards in the set.

I love that with minimal work I now have a set of cards on hand that are the perfect size to attach to a gift!

I hope that you will play along with this challenge.  Check out the challenge post for all of the information and be sure to link your cards up this week!

Just a Note

I had the BEST weekend!! Laurie, Barb, Eva and I traveled to Amy's house and we spent the weekend shopping and stamping!  I finished 9 cards (and trashed several attempts too!!)! :)  We had so much fun together!! We try to get together a few times a year and I'm already looking forward to the next one!  I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends who enjoy stamping/papercrafting!   We also got to meet up with Jinny Newlin for dinner at Bo Lings (WONDERFUL Chinese!!)!  How much fun to meet another stamping friend!

I'll be sharing some of the cards I made with you over the next few days, although some are for special posts at a later date.

This card was one of my favorites (that I can show you now anyway)!

I've had this tree set, Funky Foliage, from WPlus9 for a while now and I can't believe that it didn't see ink until this weekend!  Let me tell you, there are so many possibilities with this cute set!  I used my Stella & Rose patterned papers to paper piece the trees.

I love, love, love that sentiment!  That is from Kim Hughe's Sentiment Sampler set.  I think I used that sentiment set on the majority of my cards this weekend.  So. Fun!  The bottom border stamped on PTI's Ocean Tides paper is from PTI's Retro Background set.  Another great set!

I'm going to keep this post short tonight because I have tons to get caught up on and have to get to bed soon!  Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoyed the card! Have a great day!

Paper: Stella & Rose, Basic Grey (for the grass), Ocean Tides, Kraft

Everything But the Kitchen Sink & a Bday Bash

Hello everyone!! Sorry I've been MIA for a few days!! I have been busy working on projects and have neglected my blog!!

I have a card to share with you today.  I made this several days ago for the Everything But the Kitchen Sink color challenge & Wee Memories Birthday Bash challenge but have had a terrible time photographing it!

I love this color combo!  Gray is so hot right now and paired up with Hawaiian Shores it is such a striking combination!

Here's a closeup of the white and silver pearls!  I love adding them to these medallions!  The polka dotted paper is a dark gray even though it almost appears black in the photo.  I am loving, loving these lacy circles from Nestabilities!  So much fun!  This one was layered onto a white circle to change up the look a little and make it more doily like to match the medallion.  I used my copics to color in a few select sections of the medallion.

The color scheme we were to use from the Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge was:

And the Wee Memories Birthday Bash Challenge:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoyed today's card!  Have a beautiful day!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my parent's wedding anniversary and I wanted to make them a card.  I wanted to make it elegant and to incorporate the colors from the Off the Wall Craftiness color challenge this week which were black, orange & white!  I know, maybe not your traditional anniversary colors but that is why it is a challenge right!?  LOL!!

So, here is my card:

I think it turned out OK!  I stamped the medallions in VersaMark and then embossed them.   The contrast of the white and black is so striking in real life.

Here are the challenge colors:

I don't know if you can see in the picture or not, but I used the PTI Linen Impression Plate to give the white some texture. This makes such a huge difference! I used a PTI Fillable Frame die and stamp and cut the frame in half, stamped the sentiment on it and then tucked it under the bow.

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed this non-traditional anniversary card!  I hope my parents enjoy it too!  Have a nice day!

Supplies (all PTI unless noted)
Stamps: WPlus9 Mehndi Medallions, PTI Fillable Frames, Round & Round
Paper: White, True Black
Ink: True Black, VeraMark, Persimmon VersaMagic
Other: White Embossing Powder, PTI Linen/Canvas Impression Plate, Fillable Frames Die, Ribbon

Medallion Thanks!

Hello everyone!  How are you?  Today has been a busy day but I did find the time to squeeze in a card and boy did I have fun with it!

I based the colors for this card on WPlus9's color challenge this month! LOVE these colors!  I remember when I was younger I had a gray and pink sweatsuit that I just loved to wear!  Using these colors today brought back those warm & happy memories!
I also used a sketch for this card too because you know how much I love those! :)  This one was from Get Sketchy and it was a fun one to work with!

I just adore these doily stamps from WPlus9 called Mehndi Medallions!  They are so pretty!

For the lace, I stamped the lacey border image on black cardstock in VersaMark, embossed it in white and then cut it out.  Yes, I did say I CUT it out!!  You can pick your jaw up off the floor now! LOL!!  I didn't even pass out from doing it! But, doesn't it look like real lace?  Love it!

Fun, fun colors and a fun, fun sketch!  Thank you for taking a peak today!  I hope you have a great day!

Paper:  PTI Smokey Shadow, Sweet Blush, True Black & White

"Kind Words" Very Mini Blog Hop

My friend Laurie of Soapbox Creations and I decided that since we like to make cards so much and we are both bad about sending them, we would challenge each other to send at least one out a week!  So this card is made with that purpose in mind.  And, we are doing a VERY mini blog hop together today to showcase our first cards (and we just happened to use the same sentiment)!

This card is for a special friend of mine who is always such an encouragement to everyone around her.  It is so wonderful to hear how the Lord is using her both in her personal life and in her work life.  People are just so attracted to her because she is such a loving and warm person.

Recently I found this wonderful, bright colored twine by the Twinery that I fell in love with!! And, the colors match PTI colors so well!!  See that one that matches Hawaiian Shores?  SWOON!!! :)  (hint, hint, if you like, it, I bought a bunch and might consider cutting some up and adding it to my Etsy store at a great price.  Are you interested?)

I punched holes in the tree branch, knotted the twine and slipped it through the holes.  Isn't that sentiment wonderful!! Oh my how I do love it!!

Here's one last one to show you the dimension a little better:

Aren't these colors so wonderful together!  I saw them featured on a challenge and remembered them.  The challenge is called Color Cue by WPlus9
Thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to visit Laurie's blog too and let her know how wonderfully beautiful her card is (and it IS gorgeous, just wait until you see it!!).

**Edited to add that I am so happy to have been chosen as Jinny's pick on the Color Cue challenge!  Yea!! Thanks Jinny!!**
