U Rule!

School has been in session for my kiddos for several weeks now and I've been back at work for over a month now.  Hard to believe!

Since I'm surrounded by all things "school" I decided to play along with this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to make something with a school theme!

Notebook Paper Bag 1

I started with a lined bag.  I love these things!  Then, I used Lil' Inker Designs Notebook Doodle stamp set to create the images.  I added the "U Rule" sentiment because I thought it was perfect for a back-to-school project.  These would make fun gifts for any school event!  I also used some of the stars that were die cut with glitter paper from the "Starry Sky" die and popped them up on the bag.

Inside the bag I placed some colored pencils (since I used a doodle stamp set, it just seemed to make sense to include pencils!) and a ruler (to go along with the "U Rule" sentiment)!  I used a glitter pen to make the planet's rings glittery.

Very simple.  Very fun.

XOXO

***This is my 2nd post today.  To see my Lil' Inker Designs Release post, please scroll down!***

Hello!  Welcome to another fun challenge from The Twinery!  This time the challenge is to create a project with an "x" in it.

X Marks Spot 1

When I thought of using an "x", I decided to make something that could be a love or Valentine's Day card.  I first found two round flair O's to begin the card with.  Flair seems to be all the rage right now, so finding exactly what you want shouldn't be too hard. I happened to find these at Walmart. I positioned the two O's where I wanted them on the card stock panel and then sketched out the X's with a pencil.  I then used a slot punch to punch the slots where the twine would form the letter and threaded the twine through each hole 4 times. For my card I used Blossom, Maraschino & Charcoal twine.

You could use this same technique to spell out a lot of different words!

I hope you'll play along in this fun challenge! We'd love to see how you interpret it!  As always, there are great prizes that you can win just for playing along!  You can link up your card on The Twinery blog.

Hanging Out with Lil' Inker Designs!

Welcome to the last day of our Lil' Inker Designs new release showcase!  I hope you've been enjoying the new products!  I know I have been!   If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from Isha's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog.

I told you on Tuesday that when I was making the cards for this release, I must have been in a "hanging" mood.  Well, today both of my cards feature stars that hang!

Fabulous Stars

If you follow my blog you know how much I LOVE to add color to my creations! This one is no exception!  I paired up some fun patterned papers with several great Lil Inker sets!  First up, those fun new Stitched Star dies.  Oh my!  Aren't they great!?  You may already have some star dies...BUT I bet they don't have that fantastic, textured stitching around the outside AND I bet they don't also die cut that stitch into the negative part!  I'm pretty sure you need these in your collection. I'm not trying to twist your arm or anything, though! I'm just saying! LOL!

Fabulous Stars Closeup

I used the largest star die cut to make that puffy star.  If you would like a tutorial on how to make that star, visit my post here.  I used several of the smaller sized stars too.  For the star "tail" I used a swirl stamp from the Notebook Doodle set and the sentiment comes from "Mom & Dad Sentiments" stamp set.  I hung the star with some Solid Marigold twine from The Twinery.

Congrats Expecting

I made one more baby card using several new products.  Those tiny stars on the blue/green cardstock are the stars that are cut out when you use the Starry Sky die!  Another great feature of this die is that all the stars are like little bonus pieces (and here I used four different sizes of stars)!  The sentiments come from "On the Spot" and the newly released "Snarky Sentiments".  I love those little stamped stars which come from the "Notebook Doodle" set (I seemed to use that set quite a bit for this release!).  And of course I hung the star from Gold Shimmer twine from The Twinery.

I hope you enjoyed this release!  What was your favorite new product?  Comment below (and on the other blogs along the hop) for your chance to win one of two Lil' Inker Design gift certificates being given away during this release!

Your next stop on the hop is again over to Jen Rzasa's amazing blog! Thank you Jen for joining us for this release! It has been so much fun having you post with us!

Boo!

Welcome to Day 2 of the newest release for Lil' Inker DesignsIf you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from Isha's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog.

I have two cards to share with you again today.  The first one features two new products that I haven't showcased yet.

Boo & Scary on

This first card features some new spooky stamps called Bats & Broomsticks Stamps & Dies.  The bats are stamped on their coordinating bat dies and the white embossed sentiment also comes from the stamp set.

I used the Stitched Mats Circles die to make the moon and the cloud dies are from Rainbows & Clouds.

Celebrate Stars

I wanted to use lots of color on this next card.  I used the Starry Sky die to make the stars at an angle on this card front.  I stamped the sentiment from Spot On stamp set and then added a little texture from an impression plate over the entire card front.  I then added some popped up stars from the new Stitched Stars Die Set in various places on the card front and threw in a few enamel dots as well.

These are all available for purchase in the Lil' Inker Designs store now!

As always, there are several Lil' Inker Designs gift certificates up for grabs! Just comment on the posts along the blog hop and your name could be drawn to win one of the prizes!

I'm Seeing Stars!

Hey everyone!! It's release time at Lil' Inker Designs again!

We have some fun new products to add to the Lil' Inker Designs store that I think you'll enjoy!   If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from Isha's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog.

I have two cards to share with you today.

Moon Star Expecting

For this card I went with a baby theme and used several new products.

Moon Star Expecting Top Closeup

See that fabulous star sky?  That is a fun new die that is being released today!  I had so much fun playing with it!  It has so many uses!!  You can use this die as a border, in the middle of your card, on the side, at an angle, etc...you get the point!  To make the moon, I used the 2nd smallest Stitched Mats Circles die to first cut a circle.  Then, I used it again on that same circle to take the "chunk" out of the moon to make the shape I wanted.  The yellow panel is popped up with dimensionals and the raspberry pink dotted paper is flush against the the card to create even more dimension.

Moon Star Expecting Star Closeup

Here I've used two more new products.  The sentiment is from the "Snarky Sentiments" set that had a limited release a few weeks ago (and is currently sold out, sorry!).  And that star...yes!! It is another new set of dies called "Stitched Stars"!  And, if you're wondering, they DO make the stitch on the die cut AND on the negative!  LOVE!! I seemed to be in a hanging mood when I designed this month's release cards as you'll see over the next few days.  I thought it would be fun to hang the star from the moon.

I created a short tutorial on how to make the "puffy" star.  The directions are below.

Here's my last card for today.

Navy Pink Sarcasm

I again used the Starry Night Sky die, only this time I used it vertically.  I scored lines down each side of it for a little extra dimension.  I backed the stars with some fun patterned paper from Echo Park.

I stamped stars randomly with VersaMark ink from the "Notebook Doodles" stamp set.   The sentiment is from "Snarky Sentiments" and the banner is from the Flags & Tags Die set.

Have you seen the product images yet?

These are available for purchase in the Lil' Inker Designs store now (except for Snarky Sentiments which is already sold out, but you can put your name on a waiting list if you'd like), along with a few other new products which I'll be showcasing this week as well.

Now, as always, there are several Lil' Inker Designs gift certificates up for grabs! Just comment on the posts along the blog hop and your name could be drawn to win one of the prizes!

We are sadly saying goodbye to one of our team members this month, Debby Hughes!  I have been so inspired by Debby's work!  I wish you all of the best in your new journey Debby!
