Welcome to the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop! This is a hop all about spreading cheer and encouragement and also a call to send those cards out that you are making (note to myself: SEND those cards!). There are 31 sponsors and over 150 bloggers participating in this event! If you are following along on the hop you should have come from Carly Tee Minner's blog. If you would like to start at the beginning, check out Catherine Pooler's blog post who is also a sponsor of this event! Thanks also goes out to Hedgehog Hollow who helped Catherine organize this event!
For this card I created my own patterned paper. I used one of my favorite Catherine Pooler stamps sets to create the cherry piece! The stamps are from the Whimsical Blooms Stamps Set and it was easy to stamp this piece quickly since the cherries and leaves are separate. I stamped them using Samba & Lime Rickey inks. I then die cut the side of the piece with the pretty Bordering Sweet die.
I layered the cherries on top of a piece of cardstock that I had stamped with the must have Angled Square Background Stamp (I LOVE this stamp!!), stamped in the fabulous Catherine Pooler Tiara ink. The sentiment comes from the Sunscreen Required stamp set. I tied some Grass Green twine around the bottom panel to finish the card off.
The next stop on this blog hop is to Effie Cho's blog with The Ton. If you get lost along the way, visit Catherine Pooler's blog for a full list of participants.
Leave a comment about what you've found that's encouraged you or brightened your day during this difficult time in our world for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate on my blog! There are TONS of other prizes along the blog hop too but just by commenting on my blog you are in the running for a $20 Gift Certificate to the Catherine Pooler Designs store! Thanks Catherine! The deadline to enter to win this and all of the other prizes is Friday, April 24th.
Also, check out all of the 31 fantastic sponsors:
There are chances to win prizes from these companies all throughout the blog hop, so the more blogs you comment on the better your chances are of winning! The prizes will be randomly drawn from all the participating blogs and all the comments left. (Except for the prize that I'm offering on my blog of course and that winner will come only from the comments left on my post!) Winners will be announced on Monday, April 27 on Catherine Pooler's blog and on the Hedgehog Hollow blog.

ReplyDeleteLove the cherries with the yellow! Hmmm...many things have encouraged me during these times but I think one of the most encouraging/hopeful has been watching so many people gather together to make masks and face pieces for our front line workers. it warms my heart.

ReplyDeleteThat's easy! I am compromised and have not left the house since March 12th. Making and receiving phone calls from most everyone I have known, the reconnecting, the suprise in the voice when you call, the sincerity of happiness a phone call brings. That's golden! But my favorite heart warming is my precious hubby who has had done everything to keep me safe and in my "bubble". And you know what I do hermit very well. Thanks for the hop. Please be well!

ReplyDeleteLove how you created your own paper... the geometric squares are perfect under the little cherries. What encourages me is that the majority of people are staying home and when they go out, they wear masks to prevent spread of the covid virus!

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this darling card. I forget how nice it is to make our own "patterned paper". I am working from home during this time and I miss the personal interaction with my co-workers. So one thing I find brightens my day is when I catch a "live" on my lunch break or in the evening. It gives me a total distraction from the current state of things.

ReplyDeleteAwesome CAS card. I continue to remain upbeat because I've been making cards everyday! I'm still working from home during the day, but as soon as I'm off, I start working on my cards and disappear into my happy place of creativity. I always like to look at the positive things in life. I live day to day and when I wake up in the morning, I say thank you and today is going to be a good day! I also design cards for 3 different sites, so that keeps me busy too. LOL! Thanks for spreading some joy today and being part of this amazing hop!
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, I love your happy card, the cherries are so bright and cheerful and the colors go so well together! I am a nurse and I work night shift so to answer your question about what makes me happy and brings me joy... seeing my kids faces in the morning and knowing we are all safe and ok. Thanks for some brightness in this dreary situation!

ReplyDeleteI'm calling this time period the pandemic pandemonium. I'm encouraged by the number of people who are stepping out of their comfort zone to help others, to cheer others, and that we are having more conversations about God and how He is in control. Your card is lovely and would certainly make someone smile when they opened their snail mail!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely card. I like the colours and the design.

I will have to add that I like your side bar ads because I enjoy seeing where other people get their inspiration and their products. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThis card is so cheerful, I love the patterned paper that you created. The thing that has literally brightened my day is the sun.
