A Twist on a Window Card

Hello!! I can't believe it's been a week since I've updated my blog!  Wow!!

Today I have a card to share with you that is a twist on the traditional window cards.  When you first see it you may wonder how it qualifies for a window card in the first place...and maybe it doesn't! LOL!!
I won't keep you in suspense any longer!

This is a very CAS card and I have to mention that I like it even more in person.  I don't think the photos do it justice.  (The purples also look better in real life too!)

Here's a close up of the framed piece on the front.

I cut the frame 3 times.  Once with the patterned paper that you see now, once with another piece of patterned paper and once with the Hawaiian Shores Cardstock.  Then, I took the Sentiments Flag dies from Lil' Inker Designs and cut out the flag shape from the cardstock mat.  I adhered together the two pieces of patterned paper so that each side shows the pattern (you'll see why in a minute).  Then, I popped up the cardstock piece on top of the patterned paper with dimensionals.

I have to admit that I am sometimes lazy when it comes to decorating the inside of my cards until I am ready to give them away.  This time I went ahead and got it ready to send out.

See that little decorative piece on the left-hand side?

I die cut a flag out of the card and then the front panel is on top of it.  The patterned paper shows through when you open it.  That is why I said it was a twist on a window card.  Kind of a fun element of surprise and it adds COLOR to the inside and you all know how much I love color. :)

I wasn't going to create a separate panel for the sentiment piece but you know how you have to hide something when you mess up...well, yeah, this is why the added panel. :)  I took some of the flag images from the set I mentioned previously and stamped a border for added interest.  (It almost looks like it could be a sky scape looking at it now doesn't it?  That wasn't on purpose but I think I'll jot that down for future refernce!)

So, that is my very Clean & Simple card with a twist on windows!! I am entering this into the Wee Memories Clean & Simple challenge for the week.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great (cool) day!!  (STILL hot here!!) :)
