Today is a special day! It is Laurie's birthday and we are having a mini-blog hop in her honor!
What can I say about Laurie? I am so lucky because we only live about 5 minutes from each other. We met when I was selling Usborne books and she was a customer and then when I started demoing for a stamping company she hosted a party for me. The rest is history!
Laurie is a super-talented stamper! I'm sure you've all seen her work! She also takes amazing photos too (and not just of her cards). Honestly, I don't know how the girl does it because she is busy, busy, busy! She is very involved in her daughter's school (always amazing them with her wonderful talents), she is on the women's ministry team at her church (also amazing them with her talents) and also works a part time job (and that is just the tip of the iceberg). She is a great friend and it feels weird if we go a few days without talking, texting or chatting on MSN. She makes me laugh a lot too...she has sent me some pretty funny emails through the years!
So, enough talk, let's get to the card!
I just couldn't resist pulling out that vine from the "With Sympathy" set. No, we are NOT mourning that Laurie is another year older, LOL!! I just think that vine is so beautiful and it felt like it should be used to celebrate something.
Honestly, I probably should have used silver pearls on this card somewhere because Laurie is the Queen of Silver Pearls! She does beautiful things with them. But, instead I placed clear rhinestones on the purple flowers and colored them purple with my copics.
Laurie, I hope you have a fantastic birthday! I am so thankful that our paths connected all those years ago and then connected again! I know that God was right in the middle of that and I am so thankful for our friendship! Happy birthday!

ReplyDeleteYou all are the sweetest friends to be holding this birthday blog hop. Laurie and you are so lucky to be not only friends, but stamping friends, just down the street.
ReplyDeleteThis card is both whimsical and elegant, quite a combination to pull off. Wonderful choice of colors. And the sentiment strip is fabulous.
