Happy Fourth!!

Mason has been so excited for this day all week long! Dwight has been gone all week and he comes home today--YEA!!--and he gets to go swimming--one of his FAVORITE past times--AND he gets to do fireworks (had to wait on daddy for that one!!).

So, in honor of this exciting day and to celebrate our country's independence I thought that this would be the perfect time to share a recent project that I made. I entered it into The Angel Company's monthly contest and WON!!! The category was Patriotic Paper Play and I won last month. So exciting!! You can see it on TAC's website here but I also wanted to share some pictures of it that I took before I sent it off. The supply list is at the bottom of this post.

To create the blue & white paper I used a piece the blue piece of Lilly Anna and stamped the stars on the front side of it with Reflection Blue Palette ink. Then, I turned the paper over and stamped my images to make this a double sided paper. If you don't have double sided patterned paper, it is easy to create your own!

To attach the centers of the pinwheels, I pressed a thumb tack into the eraser of a pencil (I covered the pencils with white floral tape to hide that it was a pencil). Then, I used a pop dot to attach the button with a ribbon tied through the holes. The pinwheels really do spin!

Here is the supply list:
Lilly Anna Paper
Scarlet Paper
Premium White Paper
Linear Sentiments Stamp Set
Simply Christmas Stamp Set
Reflection Blue Palette Ink
Sunflower Palette Ink
L’amore Red Palette Ink
Sky Blue Scrapper’s Floss
Audrey Embellishment Jar Buttons
Cha Cha Eyelets
Pop Dots
Ribbon
Bucket
Star Nestabilities (used with my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine)
