Monsters Ink

Oh my goodness! The new Monsters Ink stamp set and Monsters Ink coordinating dies are adorable.  Adorable.  And the new Boo Balloons stamps are super fun too!

For this card I wanted to create a little window scene.  I started by die cutting the square with the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Squares dies.  I then added the new Stitched Mini Chevron Border die for the grass.  That CUTE monster (he's my favorite from the group!!) is die cut with the Monsters Ink dies and stamped with the Monsters Ink stamp set.  The sentiment is from that stamp set as well.  I colored him with copics.  The clouds in the background are die cut with the Rainbow & Clouds dies.

For the balloons I stamped the images with the Boo Balloons stamp set onto balloons that had been die cut with the Balloon dies.  Under the yellow star balloon I stamped the striped image from the stamp set.  The balloon strings are from the Love You More Heart & Balloon die set.

A Monster Birthday
I couldn't resist making a card with a little monster being silly now could I? :)  

This was so much fun to put together!  I stamped all the monsters from the Monsters Ink stamp set on the card front being sure to leave room to stamp the silly monster where I wanted him before adding all the others.  I then die cut out 3 of those silly monsters out with the coordinating Monsters Ink dies and colored them with copics.  I popped them up on the card front with dimensional tape.  

The sentiment also comes from the Monsters Ink stamp set.  I layered it on top of a purple piece of patterned paper that was die cut with one of the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles dies.  I then die cut two of the Stitched Mini Chevron Border die in orange and green and layered the sentiment on top of that.

Aren't the monsters the cutest????? 😁

Home for the Holidays Stamp of Approval Video Hop

Introducing the Home for the Holidays Collection

It's time to celebrate a NEW Stamp of Approval Box from Catherine Pooler called Home for the Holidays with a video hop! More information about Stamp of Approval is at the end of this post if you are unsure what this collection is all about.

YouTube Video Blog Hop featuring Wood Slice Ornaments 

Today some of the Design Team are participating in a video hop and I hope you'll join me over on my YouTube channel.  If you leave a comment on my video on my YouTube Channel you'll have a chance to win the entire Stamp of Approval Collection!!  

The wood slice ornaments are fun and easy to make!  I hope you enjoyed seeing the process! 

Here are some close ups of the wood slice ornaments on packages.

Tips: 

• Paint 3 coats of acrylic white or black paint on each ornament for best results
• Use a juicy VersaMark pad for best results (or re-ink the pad you have)
• If you want your image to be brighter when you stamp a design you can either paint one coat of Mod Podge on the bare wood and then paint 3 coats of white acrylic paint next OR you can paint 3 layers of acrylic paint & then paint one coat of Mod Podge on top (see in the video the difference it makes on what layer you paint the Mod Podge on)
• If you leave the wood untreated the ink soaks into the wood so quickly that it is very hard to stamp and/or emboss on the bare wood (speaking from experience here).  If you want the natural wood look I'd suggest using a matte Mod Podge first on the surface and then stamping and embossing. 
• When embossing on top of the black acrylic paint if you use WOW embossing powder you will not need to use an embossing buddy/tool to make your powder not stick where it isn't suppose to be, therefore reducing the white powdery residue left behind.
• If you use an embossing buddy/tool to help keep the embossing powder from sticking where it isn't suppose to, use a soft wet rag to dab the powder off when you are finished.

Merry Christmas

For this card I used a few of the sets in the new collection.  I created the outside frame using the Festive Trimmings stamp set (available 9/19/18) using Rose Petals, Peppermint Scrub, Green Tea & Eucalyptus inks.  I stamped the gorgeous sentiment using another set included in the collection called Holiday Mix stamps.  It has such gorgeous fonts!  I died some black twine around the panel and attached it with dimensional tape to the card front.
