Wild & Wonderful by Catherine Pooler Release Day!

Welcome to release day for Catherine Pooler's Wild & Wonderful product line!  Products are NOW AVAILABLE for purchase in the Catherine Pooler store including THREE new ink colors!  Yippee!! You all know how much I love Catherine's inks!  Today Grape Crush & Limoncello inks are releasing and the much anticipated Be Mine ink that was included in a previous Stamp of Approval box is also releasing!  Yippee!!  These three inks are part of a new collection of inks in the Party Line called Carnivale that also includes All that Jazz which ranks as one of my all time favorite CP inks!  Check out the Carnival Bundle here.

Today's cards are popping with color!

Wonderful Wildflowers Bold & Striped
I love bold floral images with black & white stripes!  The Wonderful Wildflowers stamps definitely pop against the stripes in this first card.

Aren't the flowers in the Wonderful Wildflowers stamp set gorgeous (there are coordinating dies also)?  I love how many color combinations you can make with these.  I am sharing another card tomorrow that uses the same flowers but they are subtle and elegant.  My color combinations for the flowers & leaves are (ink colors linked below): Flirty Fuchsia & Grape Crush, Limoncello & Orange Twist, Bellini & Party Dress, All that Jazz & Something Borrowed, Lime Rickey & Grass Skirt.  The centers of the flowers are also stamped with Party Dress & Limoncello.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set called Note of Thanks.  The black & white striped paper is from the Black Tie Gala Patterned Paper Pad which is one of my favorite paper pads!

Focus on the Good Duo

This next set of cards are very similar.  The only real difference is that on one I used the coordinating die cuts and popped up the images and on the other one the images are stamped directly on the cardstock.

  

I die cut my card base to 4 1/4 x 8".  I stamped the fun new Kaleidoscope Background on to the Smoke & Mirrors gray carstock with VersaMark ink. 

I die cut a circle with a die from my stash and then started stamping the flower & leaf images using the new Focus on the Good Floral stamp set.  I stamped the images with lots of CP inks (individually linked below): Be Mine, All that Jazz, Limoncello, Party Dress, Bellini, Orange Twist, Black Jack, Daydream.  The sentiment is also in the Focus on the Good Floral stamp set.  

On the 2nd card I used the coordinating Focus on the Good dies and popped them up with dimensional tape.  

I also used a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add glitter to the centers of the flowers, stems and to the leaves.

Faithful Flutterings Die Release & More - YAY!! 🦋

I really enjoy using the Faithful Flutterings stamp set by Catherine Pooler and today she released coordinating Faithful Flutterings dies and some other fun products to the store!  YAY!!

I made a trio of cards to share today featuring the new dies.  I am planning to use these cards for graduation.

For each of the cards in the set I started with the background and used the long stripe in one of my other favorite stamp sets Eat Sleep Create to create the stripes.  Tip for lining the stripes up: start by stamping the first stripe in the middle, then the two stripes at each bottom/top and then stamp the stripes in between.  I die cut the panel with one of the stitched dies in the Postage Stamp die collection that was available in the Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval box.  The butterfly was stamped with the layered Faithful Flutterings stamp set in Fiesta Blue, Flirty Fuchsia & black ink.   The sentiment is from the Zen Feather stamp set and is a perfect compliment to the Faithful Flutterings stamp set.

After I stamped the black ink I quickly poured Wanderlust Embossing Powder over it and then heat embossed.  I LOVE the glitter it added to the butterflies.  If you don't have this embossing powder I highly recommend it!  It is exclusive to Catherine Pooler.

This card was made the exact same way as the first card.  The butterfly is stamped with Party Dress, Be Mine & black ink.

For this card I used the large and small butterfly.  They are stamped in Shea Butter & Sauna inks.

Layton's Legacy NICU Fundraiser

Welcome to the Layton's Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser for NICU Parents blog hop.  

Our Lil' Inker Designs team member Lea Lawson recently lost a son after 5 months in the NICU. Her journey has led her to have a passion for meeting the needs, physically & emotionally, for other parents who find themselves fighting for their child's life in the NICU. In honor of Layton's birthday, she is rallying the papercrafting community to raise money to purchase Starbucks gift cards that can be given to these parents as they find themselves thrust into NICU life.

Why Starbucks? 

There is one just across the street from the hospital that Lea & her family spent so much time in with sweet Layton, and she can attest that some days you just need to step out of the hospital for a moment, get a breath of fresh air, see some natural light & regroup. She was given a Starbucks card that had been donated to the NICU during the time Layton was a patient and getting that gift card felt like someone was also thinking about them, and trying to help take care of them too.

For my card I started by stamping the Brushed Plaid Background on red paper with black ink. I love the woodsy feel it created. I used the Instant Camera die to create the scene. The tress in the background were stamped with Spruce & Eucalyptus inks with stamps from the Rustic Christmas stamp set. I really like how the inks stamped on the kraft paper. I used the Stitched Mats Circles dies to create the sun.

I just love playing with the Hey Foxy die set & the coordinating Hey Foxy stamps! For this little guy I just stayed pretty traditional with the colors. The sentiment is from the All About Ampersand stamp set.
