Mojo Monday #163

Hello!  Today I decided to play along with the Verve Monday Mojo sketch challenge!  I haven't done one in a while and I love the sketches!

Edited:  If you were here earlier or saw this card in your Google Reader I changed the color of the sentiment so that it would show up better!

Here is the sketch that this card is based off of.

This card is also for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge.  The challenge theme is "Give Thanks" and we were to create a Thanksgiving card or anything that reflects that theme.  So I went with a fall look and a grateful sentiment.

I picked an unconventional color scheme which I think keeps the fall theme fresh.  I also used PTI's Woodgrain background on the aqua color to reflect a nature feel to the card.  I love the leaf images included in Verve's "Autumn Splendor" set.  There are so many choices!  Lots of fun options!

Here is a closeup of the baker's twine from The Twinery through the button.  I chose a button with large holes and then took each strand through one hole and then tied the bow.  It was super easy to fit the twine through that way with no fraying!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoyed the card!  Have a great day!

Medallion Thanks!

Hello everyone!  How are you?  Today has been a busy day but I did find the time to squeeze in a card and boy did I have fun with it!

I based the colors for this card on WPlus9's color challenge this month! LOVE these colors!  I remember when I was younger I had a gray and pink sweatsuit that I just loved to wear!  Using these colors today brought back those warm & happy memories!
I also used a sketch for this card too because you know how much I love those! :)  This one was from Get Sketchy and it was a fun one to work with!

I just adore these doily stamps from WPlus9 called Mehndi Medallions!  They are so pretty!

For the lace, I stamped the lacey border image on black cardstock in VersaMark, embossed it in white and then cut it out.  Yes, I did say I CUT it out!!  You can pick your jaw up off the floor now! LOL!!  I didn't even pass out from doing it! But, doesn't it look like real lace?  Love it!

Fun, fun colors and a fun, fun sketch!  Thank you for taking a peak today!  I hope you have a great day!

What's the Scoop?

Hi!  I hope everyone had a fun Halloween!  Here in our small town, we trick or treated on the 30th and the weather was beautiful!  We couldn't have asked for a nicer evening!

I thought I'd share a picture of the kiddos before I share my card today.  I have to admit that they were so cute! :)  They both won first prize in their age group at the local costume party.  Mason was a mad scientist and Sadie was a 50's girl.

To keep with the theme of celebrating, I wanted to share a fun card with you!

This is such a fun stamp set!  It has so many possibilities!  If you'd like to see all the images included in this set, you can view them here (they are clear stamps).  Fun, fun!  I also love the yellow and hibiscus burst colors together on this card too.

I cut the little cherry out and colored it with a red glitter pen and then popped it up to give it some dimension.  Pretty simple card!

This card is also for the Wee Memories Free For All challenge this week!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #26

Hello everyone! It's my turn to host the Papertrey Paper Dolls challenge #26 again.  I kept this challenge super simple since I've posted several hard ones before! This one is a sketch challenge!

Here is the sketch and you are free to interpret it any way you'd like...just like it is, turned on it's side, etc!

I kept my sample super, super simple as well!

I used some more of that sparkly fun foam that I found on the circle mat!  This one is a beautiful red glittered one!  I LOVE that it is already glittered and it doesn't come off and get all over everything!  I used a circle nestie to cut it out.

I really like this color combo.  I used Lemon Tart, Smokey Shadow and the Distressed Dots paper again.  It's hard to tell in the photo, but I used my spica clear glitter pen to add some sparkle to the white part of the bird's hat.  So cute!

This card also qualifies for the Wee Memories challenge this week to make a cute holiday card.
