Give Thanks!

Hi again!  I promise that this is my last 2x a day post for a while! LOL!! Be sure to scroll down as I've updated quite a few times to get all the Verve sketches done by the deadline!

I'm back again with my last verve sketch for the Verve World Card Making Day Release challenges!  These have been so much fun!  If you didn't have a chance to play along, you have until Friday at midnight to get your cards linked!  If you don't have time to play, print out the PDF file of all the sketches and keep it in your inspiration binder for later!

I have to say that this layout challenged me the most out of all of the sketch challenges issued!  That circle just really got me!  But, I think I came up with something fun!

So...instead of a cardstock circle, I used a large flower!  The cardstock that the Verve verse is stamped on is something that I've had in my stash a really, really long time and I have no idea where it came from but I think the design on it is so pretty!

It is really hard to see in these photos, but I stamped an image from PTI's In Bloom stamp set with VersaMark on the brown panel.

I also tried something that I haven't done in a really long time.  I embossed the top layer of Kraft with a Quickutz embossing folder and then mounted it with pop dots on top of another layer of Kraft cardstock.  I lightly distressed the edges of the top layer of Kraft to break the color up just a little.

Thanks for stopping by today (again)!!  I hope you enjoyed this card!

You can see all of my sketches for the Verve challenges on posts below this one.  Not sure if you saw them all?  Below are some small samples of each card!  Be sure to check out each individual post to see all the details!

Hello Again

**I updated yesterday with 2 posts!  Be sure to scroll down and check those out!!  Thanks**

Hi everyone! I have another Verve sketch card today to share!  This means only one more to go!   This is from the Verve World Card Making Day Release challenges.

This time I used sketch #1 which is shown below.

Another fun sketch!  Here is how I interpreted it!

I have been wanting to use a 3D object on a card for a while now and so I decided that I would try a snowflake for this card.  If I were to put this in an envelope, the snowflake could lay flat. I think that this is such a fun element!

I die cut 4 snowflakes and glued them together (except for the back ones that I glued directly to the circle mat).  Then, I used stickles to cover the top 3 snowflakes with glitter.  It sparkles so much in real life!  I do wish I would have sponged the edges with ink before I glued them together to hide the white edges, but I made a mental note so I'll do that next time.

You can see that the polka dots (Quickutz Embossing Folder) also have some color.  After I embossed the Kraft cardstock, I took a Aquatic Splash VersaMagic Dew Drop and gently ran it over the dots and also around the edge of the cardstock to soften it and give it even more added dimension.  I like the look it created.  The ink pads are spongy so it is very easy to do this.

I'm sorry that I don't have a supply list for this card or for the last one!  I will try to get back and update that as soon as I can!  But, it is late and I'm so tired so I'm going to head to bed and update that later.  I promise that I'll list the supplies on my future cards, so no worries!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed this card!  Have a great day!

You are Such a Joy

Hello! This is my second post for today so I'll keep this very short!  Please scroll down to see my previous post!

I am back with another Verve Sketch for World Cardmaking Day!  This is sketch #5 and for this one I turned the sketch on its side!

Here's my card!

I love these colors together!  This is paper by Cosmo Cricket called DeLovely.  The patterns are so fun!

The frame I used on this image was a free stamp from Verve when I placed a qualifying order.  Isn't it fun too?  The sentiment is also from Verve.  Love, love the fonts in this set!

Thanks for stopping by (twice) today!!

Hello From the Heart

Hi everyone!  How are you all doing?

I have another card to share with you today using another of Verve's World Card Making Day sketches! I love their sketches!  They have a new one each week but for this special day they had 5 that you could choose from and I like them all!  This one is based on sketch #3.  I love Verve's stamps and wasn't thinking when I created this card...I didn't add in any Verve stamps!  Oops!!  If you've never checked out their stamps, you have got to take a look at their store!

I thought it would be fun to use the wreath from PTI's "Wreath for All Seasons" on this sketch.  Instead of using the traditional berries, I found that a heart fit perfectly in the "holes"!  It added a fun little twist to the wreath.  Wonder what else might fit in that space too!?

Here you can see a little better that where the single "holes" for the berries were, I added pearls.  I love the little dimension it gives!

Thanks for stopping by today!  If you'd like to play along with the Verve sketches, you have until Friday to add your creations to their site by clicking on the link above!  They are super fun and addicting so watch out!!
