Winnie & Walter Leading Lady: Take One

Hello!  I am so excited to be Winnie & Walter's February Leading Lady!  I was so fortunate to meet Shay at a craft retreat almost a year ago and I can't say enough wonderful things about her kind & generous spirit!  I'm always amazed by the products that she puts out through the Winnie & Walter line!  It's an honor to be able to share with you each Saturday this month.

My first theme this month is using the overlooked stamps in our stamp sets.  Basically, take a look at the tiny stamps in your sets and make them the star of the show.  I challenged myself even further and used Christmas/Winter themed stamp sets to make non-holiday themed cards.

Wishing You a Bright, Brilliant Birthday

Jen Carter Winnie Walter Winter Wishes Wishing You Dots

For this first card I wanted to make a bright, fun, party card.  I loved the little solid circles in the Winter Wishes with Evelin T Design stamp set. I also really liked that the circles had outline stamps to match as well!   So I pulled out a palette of bright inks (listed in the supply section) and started to randomly stamp the little circles with the largest size at the top, working my way down to the tiniest of circles.  I used a gray ink and the coordinating outline circle stamps to outline a few here and there.

The sentiment is from the Wishing You with Evelin T Designs stamp set.  After stamping the second sentiment strip in bright colors I attached it to the panel with dimensional tape.

I wanted to add a little more dimension to my card so I die cut some of the circles in different sizes using the Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs Cutaways, stamped them with the coordinating sized circle stamps and popped them up with dimensional tape.

On Your Special Day

Jen Carter Winnie Walter Warm Wishes Sentimental Gift Hearts

For my second card I wanted to focus on the adorable steam hearts in the Warm Wishes to You stamp set (this set will be released in 2018 and was the free gift with purchase stamp set during the last release).  To start I created the background paper using the smallest & largest heart and stamping with VersaMark ink.  For the rainbow panel, I chose my ink palette and then started stamping the hearts in a row. I embossed the sentiment from Sentimental: Gift with white ink onto black cardstock and then hand cut the ends of the banner to make a pointed end.  I placed the sentiment banner onto the heart stamped panel with dimensional tape.  The heart panel is also adhered with dimensional tape to the card base. I added some colorful sequins to finish the card off.

I hope you've been inspired to take another look at some of those tiny stamps in your collection and think of ways to use them as the star of your card or project!

Happy Birthday Catherine!

Today is Catherine Pooler's birthday!  The design team wanted to shower her with love and I wanted to share the card I made for her special day!

Happy Birthday Catherine!
This month we are also celebrating Stamp Nation's birthday so this card is not only for Catherine's birthday but for the Birthday Card Stash Done! Challenges going on.  Today's tutorial and sponsor comes from Winnie & Walter so I featured some products from their store too!

I knew I wanted to incorporate as many ink colors into this card as I could because when I think of birthdays I think lots of fun colors!  For the background I used Winnie & Walter's Mini Scenery: Spotty stamp that I love!  I stamped it with Pixie Dust, Bellini, Tiara, Rockin' Red, Party Dress & Mint to Be inks.  I used one of the bold stamps & the matching outline stamp from the In a Word: Happy stamp set, stamped in Bellini & Black Jack ink.  The sentiment below, from the same stamp set, is stamped with Pixie Dust. Both sentiment panels are popped up with dimensional tape. The balloons are from a Simon Says stamp set called Birthday Balloons.

It's hard to see but I added glitter to the top of "happy" with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen.

Happy birthday Catherine!  I hope you feel loved this birthday!! You are truly a kind, loving person and I'm so blessed to be on this team with you!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #365

Hello everyone!  I have a fun announcement to make today!  I was chosen to be on the Cupcake Inspirations Design Team and today is my first post!  This is a challenge blog that I've admired and participated in.  The challenges vary between theme challenges & color challenges and there are prizes every week for the winner! I'm excited to be working with this team!

Today's challenge features products from Winnie & Walter.

For my card I used the Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet stamp set to create the flowers.  I first stamped each flower with ink and then embossed the top, more detailed layer with white.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold and You Stamp Set which has lots of fun mix & match sentiments.  I added some sequins and an ombre pattern paper strip at the bottom to finish the card off.

The inspiration photo that we are using this week is a very pretty one!

You can make any card with flowers.  Let the photo be your inspiration starting point...or not.  Any flower card qualifies.  I hope you'll play along!  The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift certificate from Winnie & Walter!  You can find all of the information about the challenge on the Cupcakes Inspirations Blog.

I hope you'll visit the other design team member's blogs and check out their creations too!

Thanks for joining me!
