As you can see I stamped the images inside the square pieces to create a scene.  I popped up one of the little mushroom pieces and added a sequin.

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

A Little Bunting...

Well, hopefully the card I am sharing today has already made it to it's recipient!  I told you earlier this week that I spent some time sewing over Spring Break (I'm a secretary at our elementary school).  In fact that sewing project set off a series of events at our household that my husband might say was a series of unfortunate events.  You see, after I spent time sewing I wanted to do some redecorating which required moving some shelves.  No big deal.  Until we realized we would need to patch the wall and we didn't have any paint left to cover up the patch...oops!  So, guess what!  We ended up painting the living room & hallway.  Not my husband's favorite thing to do.  I did a lot of painting on Saturday & Sunday and I promised to spend some more time on it during the week.  But this required his help and that meant not working out in the garage on his race car.  Big props to my hubby! :)

Jen Carter Whimsy Hello Banners

So, back to the card...I had sewn some banners to hang in my home and also sewed some for a friend who, like myself, missed out on getting some when they were on sale.  Although, truthfully, I would have made my own anyway.  So this accompanied a small gift of banners to hang in her new crafty room! :)

Jen Carter Whimsy Hello Banners Closeup

I used the Clearly Whimsy Tremendous Triangles stamp set to create the banners.  I hung them from a string I stamped with the Basic Backgrounds & Borders 1 stamp set (I had previously cut two of the stitched lines apart to make 2 stamps instead of  1).  The sentiment is from the Happy Hello set.

Here's a little sneak peek of the bunting I sewed.  It isn't a great picture (and it was dark when I took this) but once I get my redecorating done, I'll share some better pics of it hanging where it is suppose to be!  I hadn't cut these down yet either.

I'm entering this card in the SSS Wednesday Blog Challenge: Anything Goes.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!  I hope you have a great day!

ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #11

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the theme is based on an inspiration photo!

Jen Carter Whimsy Into the Woods Dear Friend SYSC11

I used the Into the Woods stamp set & the Woodland Critters dies to create the animals & mushrooms in this scene.  They are the cutest little animals!  The sentiment is also from the Into the Woods stamp set.

The hills were made using the Stitched Border Die Trio.

Here is the inspiration photo that the card was based on:

Clearly Whimsy Designs March Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Clearly Whimsy Stamps March release Blog Hop!

The Clearly Whimsy design team have been sharing creations made with these new stamps and dies over the last couple of days, and today we are celebrating their release with a Grand Blog Hop!

On Thursday, we released 4 new Clearly Whimsy Stamps clear sets and 2 new coordinating crafting dies.

Jen Carter Whimsy Watercolor Circles Circles Thanks

Today I have another watercolor card to share using the Circles, Circles, Circles stamp set.  I had a lot of fun making cards with this set!  For this set I colored several different colors of aquacolor crayons onto an old CD case and then spritzed it with water.  I dipped the stamps in several of the colors and then stamped onto the watercolor paper.  I really like how it turned out!

Jen Carter Whimsy Watercolor Circles Circles Thanks Closeup

I then watercolored onto another piece of paper and then die cut the Thanks Large Word die from that paper and adhered. I finished by punching a few tiny holes in the paper and tying a piece of silk ribbon onto the front.

New Products:

We will draw one winner from the comments left on each hop post and that random person will win a $25 gift voucher to the Whimsy Store. Remember to comment on all the blogs in the hop in order to be eligible for the drawing.  You have until Wednesday, March 18th at midnight EDT to comment.

Jen Carter Whimsy Circles Circles Stitched Alphas Bright Front

For my card today I am featuring the new sets Circles, Circles, Circles & Stitched Alphabet Uppercase.

I really enjoyed playing with all of the different types of circles in this set, both solid & outline.  I used various sizes to create the flowing circles and  highlighted a few of them using the outline circle stamps.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment "Shine".  Such a fun alphabet set!  I cut the yellow wave on the side using the previously released Stitched Border Trio Dies.

Jen Carter Whimsy Circles SYSC10

If this card looks familiar it is because I featured it on my blog as a sneak peek last week!  It also uses the Circles, Circles, Circles stamp set & the previously released hello word die.  You can find more information on this card here.

Hoot, Hoot Hooray! - Clearly Whimsy Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps March 2015 release!  Over the next 3 days we will reveal our *BRAND NEW* Clearly Whimsy Stamps release! We are releasing 4 new clear stamp sets and 2 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store TODAY and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!!

Jen Carter Whimsy Into the Woods

For my first card I used the cute Into the Woods Stamp set.  It has adorable images in it!  I had so much fun putting them all together to create this little scene!  The tree was made using 3 stamps from the set:  the tree branches, the cluster of 2 leaves and the large leaf.

Jen Carter Whimsy Into the Woods Closeup

I also used the bunny & birdie die from the coordinating Woodland Creatures die set.  To create the grass I used a previously released die, Stitched Border Die Trio and adhered it with pop dots.

Jen Carter Whimsy Hoot Hoot Glasses 1

Yes, this card is a little crazy silly.  I just couldn't resist putting these way oversized glasses on that sweet little owl from the new Hoo Loves You stamp set.  I die cut him using the coordinating Owl Outline Dies.  The moon was created with two of the stamps from the Circles, Circles, Circles stamp set.  I stamped the solid circle first and then in VersaMark ink I stamped the dotted outline around it just to give it a little depth.

The tree comes from the Into the Woods stamp set.   I used the previously released Say What? Speech Bubble dies to cut the speech bubble and then stamped the sentiment from Hoo Loves You inside.  Those ginormous glasses are from the previously released Glasses & Bracket die set.

Here's a look at the stamps & dies I used on my cards today.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left here and on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered into the drawing.

ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #10

It's time for another ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  This week the theme is a color challenge and you can find the inspiration color photo at the end of my post.

I am sneak peeking a new set that will be available in the Whimsy Stamps store, through the Clearly Whimsy line, next week on Thursday, March 12 called Circles, Circles, Circles!

Jen Carter Whimsy Circles SYSC10

When I first saw the inspiration photo all I could think about was how perfect these new stamps would work with it!  There are so many sizes and kinds of circles to choose from and so many ways to use them!  For this card I pulled out my aquacolor crayons.  I scribbled the colors I wanted to use on the back of an old CD case and then lightly squirted them with water.  I then dipped the different sizes of circles in the mixture and stamped on watercolor paper and this is what I got.

Jen Carter Whimsy Circles Closeup SYSC10

I die cut the Hello Word Die (available now) from patterned paper and stacked several other hellos die cut from cardstock underneath for dimension.  I adhered a raspberry stripe of cardstock behind my focal image and added some sequins to finish the card off.

I hope you'll play along with us!  We would love to see your creations using stamps from the Clearly Whimsy line, but all products are welcome to be used and no one is disqualified from winning!  The challenge is open for 2 weeks.  You can link up your cards and see the other DT samples by clicking here.  There are prizes up for grabs too, so be sure to check that out too!

We also hope you'll join us for the Clearly Whimsy release next week, March 12 - 14th where you will see the full reveal of the stamp set I used above, Circles, Circles, Circles & many more fun product introductions!

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello!

Hello!  I hope you had a nice weekend!  They go so fast don't they? :)

Jen Carter Whimsy Say What Hello

I really like how today's card turned out and it was super simple to put together!  I used only one die on this card and it is from Clearly Whimsy's Say What? die collection.  There is a little "hello" die that is included with the dies and it made putting together this card really easy.

Jen Carter Whimsy Say What Hello Closeup

To make sure all of the dies lined up exactly the same, I used a piece of post it note tape (I LOVE this stuff!!) and lined it up with the edge of the card.  After I applied it to the entire left hand side of the card front, I lined the hello die up using the tape as my guide for placement.  I started by cutting the center "hello" and then cut two above it and two below it and then removed the tape.  Then, I just popped the entire card front up with dimensionals on top of patterned paper, added some enamel dots and that was it!

Here's the Say What? die set that includes the hello, to give you an idea what it looks like!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you enjoyed the card!

ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #9

Hello!  Welcome to ShowCASe Your Style Challenge #9!  Today we have a fun theme that I hope many of you will play along with: Birthday!

Jen Carter Whimsy Birthday Balloon Up Up Away

I have been so inspired by a lot of rainbow cards I've seen recently!  I LOVE color and so for this card I wanted to create a rainbow myself!  I thought that the rainbow coming out of the sentiment looked kind of like a spotlight announcing a big event.  I started by stamping the sweet sentiment from the Birthday Balloon stamp set.  I colored the "awesome" in with gel pens.

Jen Carter Whimsy Birthday Balloon Up Up Away closeup

I did do a little stamp surgery to put this card together.  I took the rays from the Up, Up & Away stamp set and trimmed one of them carefully away from the other two.  I still have 2 rays that I can stamp together and 1 ray that I can stamp separately!  I love lots of options!  I stamped each ray in a different color and then added coordinating sequins to really brighten things up & make it festive!

I hope you'll play along with us!  We would love to see your creations using stamps from the Clearly Whimsy line, but all products are welcome to be used and no one is disqualified from winning!  The challenge is open for 2 weeks.  You can link up your cards and see the other Design Team samples by clicking here.  There are prizes up for grabs too, so be sure to check that out as well!

Thanks for coming by!  Have a great day!

*This card has a similar design as Kristie's card here.  Be sure to check out how she used these Whimsy stamps as well!*

(Don't) Let it Snow!

So earlier this week I posted a Spring card and now I'm going to post a winter card!  Much like the roller coaster of Kansas temperatures we've had over the last few weeks, my blog posts are the same way!  LOL!   Well like it or not, we have several weeks or months left of winter.  I guess if I'm really honest, I wouldn't mind a few snow days to have a day off from school! :)  But then it needs to melt right away.  Conditions, conditions, I know!

Jen Carter Whimsy Sparkle & Shine 1.1

For this card I pulled out the Clearly Whimsy Sparkle & Shine stamps.  I embossed the snowflakes with pink embossing powder.  I then took out the Scandi Christmas set and stamped the little "snowflakes" with VersaMark ink.

Jen Carter Whimsy Sparkle & Shine Closeup

It is really hard to see on the photos, but if you look closely, you'll see a "swoosh" above each of the large snowflakes.  I stamped those with VersaMark ink from the Smarty Pants stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Sparkle & Shine stamp set.  I added a few cream sequins to finish the card off.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Hot Stuff!

Hello!  Welcome to another edition of the ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  Today we are working with a sketch that I just happened to sketch.  Yep, first time doing that!  I hope you'll choose to play along!

Jen Carter Whimsy SCYS9 Get Well Soon Closeup

Our challenge blog is in association with Clearly Whimsy Stamps and is sponsored by Whimsy Stamps, who are generously offering a $10 gift certificate to the randomly-selected winner of each challenge. (If the winning entry uses Clearly Whimsy Stamps products, the gift certificate will be increased to $15).

Jen Carter Whimsy SCYS9 Get Well Soon

For my card today, I used a new stamp set called Get Well Soon & also the coordinating dies, Get Well die set.  I chose four colors of ink for the thermometer and then in the last one added a coordinating enamel dot.  The sentiment is also from the Get Well Soon stamp set. I like that the sentiments in this set make it versatile for more than just get well cards!

To create the border at the bottom of the card, I used one of the dies from the Stitched Border Die trio set.  I punched a hole under the "hot" sentiment and then tied my ribbon through that.  I like that there is a small little extra there that didn't need to continue down the whole card front.

I hope you'll play along with our challenge!! I love seeing your entries every week!  You have 2 weeks to enter the challenge and you can link up your cards here.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a day full of blessings!
