Mr. & Mrs. Bridal Couple

Jen Carter Bridal Couple Champagne 3

I meant to post this card last week for Valentine's Day but time got away from me.  If you are looking for a fun die set for upcoming weddings, wedding showers, proms, etc then this is a die set that you are going to want to add to your collection!  The Bridal Couple Card Builder is so fun to work with!  I added various pieces with different colored cardstock and then made a little boutonniere for the groom too.

I stamped a little message on the inside of the card with the Wedding Wishes stamp set.

Have a nice day!

Stitched Love

Stitched Love
Are you ready for Valentine's Day?   It's getting so close!  Today's card is one for not only Valentines but for anyone you want to show love to or even for weddings or wedding showers.

DSC_4959

For this card I started by cutting the Forever Heart Die Layer 2 into dark gray cardstock.  I really like how this die stitches the heart and border around the card base!  It also has a coordinating die called Forever Heart Die Layer 1.  I die cut the "Love" from the Love is Love die into the bottom of the card base.  The little hearts in the center of the Love and coming up from the top of the "O" are from the extras in that die set.

For the background of the Love I stamped and embossed in white the wreath from the Love & Honey stamp set and then colored it with Zig Real Brush pens.  I popped the entire gray cardstock up with dimensional tape.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady: Take One

Hello!  I am so excited to be Winnie & Walter's February Leading Lady!  I was so fortunate to meet Shay at a craft retreat almost a year ago and I can't say enough wonderful things about her kind & generous spirit!  I'm always amazed by the products that she puts out through the Winnie & Walter line!  It's an honor to be able to share with you each Saturday this month.

My first theme this month is using the overlooked stamps in our stamp sets.  Basically, take a look at the tiny stamps in your sets and make them the star of the show.  I challenged myself even further and used Christmas/Winter themed stamp sets to make non-holiday themed cards.

Wishing You a Bright, Brilliant Birthday

Jen Carter Winnie Walter Winter Wishes Wishing You Dots

For this first card I wanted to make a bright, fun, party card.  I loved the little solid circles in the Winter Wishes with Evelin T Design stamp set. I also really liked that the circles had outline stamps to match as well!   So I pulled out a palette of bright inks (listed in the supply section) and started to randomly stamp the little circles with the largest size at the top, working my way down to the tiniest of circles.  I used a gray ink and the coordinating outline circle stamps to outline a few here and there.

The sentiment is from the Wishing You with Evelin T Designs stamp set.  After stamping the second sentiment strip in bright colors I attached it to the panel with dimensional tape.

I wanted to add a little more dimension to my card so I die cut some of the circles in different sizes using the Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs Cutaways, stamped them with the coordinating sized circle stamps and popped them up with dimensional tape.

On Your Special Day

Jen Carter Winnie Walter Warm Wishes Sentimental Gift Hearts

For my second card I wanted to focus on the adorable steam hearts in the Warm Wishes to You stamp set (this set will be released in 2018 and was the free gift with purchase stamp set during the last release).  To start I created the background paper using the smallest & largest heart and stamping with VersaMark ink.  For the rainbow panel, I chose my ink palette and then started stamping the hearts in a row. I embossed the sentiment from Sentimental: Gift with white ink onto black cardstock and then hand cut the ends of the banner to make a pointed end.  I placed the sentiment banner onto the heart stamped panel with dimensional tape.  The heart panel is also adhered with dimensional tape to the card base. I added some colorful sequins to finish the card off.

I hope you've been inspired to take another look at some of those tiny stamps in your collection and think of ways to use them as the star of your card or project!

Today & Always

Jen Carter Today Always Diamond 3 wm

Hello!  Today's card features a wedding card.  I started by using the super creative and beautiful Cover Up Die: Diamond Lace from Lil' Inker Designs and then backed it with pink cardstock.

Tip: If you'd like to see an easy and quick way to get all of those little circles out of your cardstock after you cut it, you can watch my video here: https://youtu.be/3XQS3_E__b8.

I then die cut the Today & Always Greeting Die from ivory cardstock for the focal point.  The flowers are die cut and stamped using the Awesome Blossom stamps and coordinating dies.

I'm entering this in the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #214 to use the following sketch.

Color Blocking Die: Celebrate

If you followed along during Lil' Inker Designs February release, you might have seen the video I made (you can view it HERE) showing some ways to use the new Color Blocking die that I've fallen in love with.  There was one technique that I shared and I wasn't sure if I explained it well enough so I am coming back today to share some pictures on how to easily do the technique using the die.

First, let me share the card with you that I'll be creating.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die Celebrate

Like one of the cards I showed in the video, I also used the Cover Up Die: Diamond Lace on this card.  I love the lines in it and it works so well with the color blocking die.  I only used one cut of the die for this card but it makes putting this card together so simple and getting exactly the right cut (and that great finished edge!) each time.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die 1

So to start, I lined up my washi tape with one of the dotted lines cut into the cardstock.  For this card I want my patterned paper to line up with the line of holes that is under the washi (so basically these larger holes will be covered with the paper once it is cut).

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die 2

I put my patterned paper right on top of the blue cardstock so that I can see the washi tape ends peeking out.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die 3

I line the die up with the top edge of the washi tape.  I found post-it note tape holds the die in place nicely.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die 4

I ran the paper and die through my die cut machine, removed the tape and voila! the piece is cut exactly where I needed it to be.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die Celebrate 1

Here is the finished card again.  I die cut the heart with the Sweet Celebrations die set (matching stamp set can be found here).  I also die cut the Celebrate Word Die a couple of times, adhered them together and then attached them to the card.

Jen Carter LID Color Block Die Celebrate Closeup

For my heart, I didn't want it hanging over the side without any support so I cut it in half and adhered half to the patterned paper and then adhered the other half to the cardstock.

I'm going to enter this in the Sunday Stamps Challenge to use the colors scheme below.

I'm also entering this card in the Stick it Down Challenge to use the provided sketch.

Thanks for joining me today!

Gold Love

Today I'm sharing a card that I made some time ago but never posted.  With Valentine's Day coming very soon, it seemed appropriate to share it now.

Jen Carter Faith Love 1

I started by using the largest die in the Country Hearts die set to die cut the large heart.  I added an arrow die cut with the Arrow Card Sketcher die set at the top of the heart.  The love is die cut from a die in the Faith Words #4 set.  To finish the card off I added some sequins and a cork heart with glitter in it.

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Jen Carter  Kitty Hugger Bow wm

For my first project today I have a fun (and easy) Valentine's Day idea for you.  I've used the Kitty Hugger Die Stamp Bundle to create this adorable little cat.  The face, whiskers & ears were stamped using the stamps that come in the bundle.  I added a super cute bow that was die cut with the Bow Die Mini.  I love using this little die to add a little extra "something" to projects and it fits this cat perfectly!  I stamped a sentiment from the bundle onto a Wonky Rectangle die cut base.  This would make adorable valentine favors for school, neighbors, friends and family!

Jen Carter  Kitty Hugger Bow Side wm

Since the sucker is so bulky, I needed to add some extra dimensionals behind the cat to help her stand out from the card base a little.  Here's a look from the side.

Jen Carter Today Always Greeting Gold 11 wm wm

My last card is a gold foil dotted wedding card using the new Today & Always Greeting Die.  I die cut the foiled base with the Stitched Mats: Rectangles die.  Then, I attached a piece of striped vellum to the front and secured the Today & Always sentiment on top.   I finished it off with a gold silk ribbon.

Jen Carter Hello Beautiful Be You 2 wm

First up today is a fun new build a bird set called Hello, Beautiful! I started by creating the background paper using one of the images from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set.  I then cut it apart using the new Fringe Scallop Border Builder dies.  The banner is from the Warm Welcome Die Set and the sentiment is from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set.

Jen Carter Hello Beautiful Be You Closeup 2

Putting the bird together was a lot of fun!  When I went looking for bird color examples I was absolutely amazed at the beautiful birds in the world!  Two of my favorites I pinned here and here. Using some of the colors from those pins, I put together this colorful bird.  First, I die cut her with the Hello Beautiful Die Set & then stamped the coordinating images.  I then added a flower from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set to her hair.

Jen Carter Wreath Welcome Family 2 wm

I was inspired to make this card from a picture I found here.  I started by making sure I had space for the sentiments at the bottom.  I die cut the Welcome Word Die & the label from the Warm Welcome Die Set.  I stamped the sentiment from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set.

Next, I die cut the flowers from the Warm Welcome Die Set & the previously released Fresh Cut Flowers Die Set.  I then stamped them with their coordinating stamp sets Warm Welcome & Fresh Cut Flowers.  These sets intermix so well!  To finish the card off I added in some stamped dots and sequins.

Watercolored Wedding

Hello everyone!  Are you busily preparing for Christmas?  I can't believe how close we are to Christmas!  I have so many presents I need to wrap!

Today I have a break from Christmas cards and am sharing a wedding card instead.

Jen Carter Wedding Wishes Flower

I used a new die from Frantic Stamper called Scribble Roses to die cut the flower and then colored it with watercolor paints and an aqua pen.

The gorgeous sentiment was stamped & embossed with a new wedding stamp set called Wedding Wishes which I think is so pretty!  The sentiment is stamped on a label from the Elementals #7 Coved Labels die set.  It's perfect for using as a tag.
