Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 1

Hello!  It's time for the next Lil' Inker Designs release! The new products are already available in the  Lil' Inker Designs storeIf you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Hoffman's Blog!

I have two cards to share today, both with a birthday theme.

Card #1
First up is a bright and fun card featuring the new Modern Mandala Stamp & Modern Mandala Die sets.

Jen Carter Modern Mandala Ombre 1 wm

To create this card I started with a white piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Then using one of the beautiful and detailed images from the Modern Mandala Stamp Set I embossed the images with white embossing powder and a heat gun.  To make them line up easier, I stamped & embossed just a couple at a time so I could more easily see where to place the next image.  Then using bright inks (listed below) & a sponge applicator I began sponging the inks onto the cardstock & blending as I went.  Once I was completely finished I used a white rag to rub off the ink from the white embossed images which allowed the white to more fully pop.

I then inked up another little section of white cardstock and stamped & embossed the image again and this time I die cut it out with the coordinating Modern Mandala Die. I attached that to my card front with dimensionals.  I then diecut the little sentiment plate, also included in the Modern Mandala Die Set, from black cardstock & embossed the sentiment from the Modern Mandala Stamp Set in white.  I used some black twine to attach the sentiment plate to the card front.  I love how the black pops against the bright ink colors & white images!

Card #2
This next card is much softer in color and uses several new products including the new Eat Cake Stamp set, coordinating Eat Cake Die Set, Ever Stamps & Ever Word Die

Jen Carter Ever Eat Cake Birthday 2 wm

For this card I started by taking a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and blending an area of pink & yellow inks (listed below).  I then die cut that piece with one of the Eat Cake Dies and stamped the sentiment from the Eat Cake Stamp set and embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.  I used a white gel pen to add the stripes on the candles and used Glossy Accents to make the flames shiny.

To assemble the panel I die cut the Rustic Cream card panel with the previously released Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles. I then die cut the large, gorgeous Ever Word Die out of gold glittery cardstock.  Once I placed that on the panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Ever Stamp Set.  Then, I placed the cake on top of the sentiment with dimensional tape.  After wrapping some gold thread around the card base, I attached the entire panel with dimensional tape.

Happy Birthday Shaker

Jen Carter Happy Bday Circle Confetti Streamers 1

Happy Birthday to You Shaker

Hello!  I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card using Frantic Stamper's Reverse Cut Happy Birthday Circle die.  After die cutting the circle into a panel that I had die cut using Elementals #14: Scalloped Square Basics I put the shaker together.  I wanted it to look like a balloon so I snipped off a tail piece from a die cut from the Big Balloons die set.  I then used one of the streamers from the Streamers Die set for the balloon string.

For today's card I used Lil' Inker Designs fun Pretty Painted Alphabet Stamp Set & Coordinating dies.  I love this font and the possibilities are endless!  I incorporated LOTS of color into this card as you can see. :)  The multi-step flowers are from the beautiful set Best Blooms Stamp Set and it also has coordinating dies, Best Blooms dies.  I added some dew drops as accents.

Thinking of You

Jen Carter Thinking of You 2

Thinking of You

Welcome!  I wanted to share this card I put together for a friend.  I stared with a background die from Reverse Confetti called Large Eyelet Cover Panel.  I love the look of this die!  I then die cut a Lil' Inker Designs tag from the set called Anytime Tags.  The sentiment is also from Lil' Inker Designs called Greetings & Salutations. I really like the look of this sentiment set!  Such nice sized sentiments!

For the flowers I used Catherine Poolers Lovely Flowers Stamp Set (Love the design of these!) and the coordinating dies Lovely Flowers & Banners Dies.   Do you just LOVE those vibrant ink colors?  Swoon!  Seriously my new favorite dye inks!

These are the Catherine Pooler ink colors I used for this card:

May Your Day Be a Splash

Hello!  Happy mid-July already!  The summer seems to be flying by!  Have you had a chance to check out the newest July Frantic Stamper die & stamp release yet?  I've used a couple new products from this release on my card today.

May Your Day Be a Splash

Jen Carter Rolling Wave Whale Splash

I think that the whale is so cute!  It is a new die set called Spouting Whale.  I attached him with foam tape on top of panel strips that I die cut with the Rolling Wave Card Panel Die that I really like!  I only used the inside pieces from that die and attached them with foam tape also.  For the sentiment I die cut one of the banners from the Double Fishtail Labels die set in yellow.  Then I used the rectangle piece from the Striped Frame & Insert to stamp the sentiment from the Under the Sea Stamp Set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Be the Reason...

Jen Carter Be the Reason wm

Be the Reason

Hey everyone!  Today I'm sharing a card using Lil' Inker Designs Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today stamp.  I started by embossing the sentiment with white embossing powder onto the black cardstock.  Then, I took copics and colored directly over the embossed image to create the colored parts.

For the background, I die cut several different colors of cardstock from one of the dies from the Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangles die set.  To finish the card off, I attached the center image panel with dimensional tape and added some colored sequins.

So much for stopping by today!

Many Wonderful Things

Jen Carter Birch Flutter Wonderful Things 1

Many Wonderful Things

I love these layered dies from Birch Press Designs.  Recently at our Stamping Away Retreat I got to play with more designs from this company that my friend Tracey McNeely brought & shared.  This one is called the Flutter Plate Layer Set. I really enjoyed putting together the various layers and finding color combinations to use with these gorgeous butterflies.  It's so simple to put together and yet it really makes a statement.  I paired the butterflies with a beautiful sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Best Mom Ever stamp set.

I'm going to link this up over at the SSS Wednesday Challenge, Summer Sunshine, because butterflies definitely remind me of summer days!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!

Oceans of Love

Jen Carter Bubble Submarine Oceans Love 1

Frantic Stamper has another new release out this week and the theme is nautical, under the sea (see all of the new dies here).  One of the dies that I was especially drawn to was the Submarine die.  I wanted to go a little outside the box and make my submarine with fun colors so that is how this color combo was born...just thinking outside the box which to me said that submarines should be yellow, which of course they aren't, LOL!  I die cut my background patterned paper (Bella Blvd Secrets of the Sea) with the new Bubble Oval die which made a nice frame for this card.  I stamped the aqua background with a new 6x6 rubber stamp called Simple Waves.  I then took a piece of turquoise vellum and die cut waves at the top with the new Stitched Waves die (3 dies in the set & turned the other way they make great clouds too!)  I love how you can still see the stamped waves background through the colored vellum.  My sentiment is from the new clear Under the Sea Mermaid Stamp set.  I added a tiny enamel heart to finish the sentiment panel off.

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for visiting!

Happy July 4th!

Happy July 4th!  I love seeing Red, White & Blue and everything Patriotic! Independence Day is always such a special day to me!  Today I have a card to share with that theme in mind.

Just Because

Jen Carter Mason Jar Flowers Patriotic 1

For this card I stamped and die cut the jar image with the Jar of Flowers Stamp set and coordinating dies from white woodgrain paper. I wanted it to look like it had been painted with white distressed paint.  I die cut and stamped the flowers from the same stamp & die set. I attached all of them onto a panel that I had die cut with one of the Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles dies.  The patterned paper that I used is from the Pebbles Americana paper pad.

Happy July 4th!  Enjoy your day!
