Whimsy Stamps Release Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to the Clearly Whimsy Stamps June Release BLOG HOP! I have had such a great time being a Guest Designer this release with Whimsy Stamps

All 6 new clear stamp sets AND 6 coordinating die/die sets are now available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and the Design Team and Guest Design Team are celebrating the release with a GRAND BLOG HOP!

The hop starts today and ends on Sunday, June 30th at midnight EDT.

If you would like to hop along with us today, please CLICK HERE to start the hop at the Whimsy Stamps blog. You'll find the entire order at the bottom of this post!

Today the design team is sharing the final set of stamps and dies from this release - TIME FOR TEA & TIME FOR TEA ADDITIONS - which you've been seeing on my blog the past few days.

Today, my inspiration is based on my experience. I have been the Chairperson of our Women's Ministry at our church for quite a few years now and I'm finally taking a break to focus on other things. But my mind is still always looking for and thinking of cute themes to work with women's events. This tea set is the perfect item to use for a women's event (or just as a gift to someone special too)!

Tea Cup Set 1.2

Here is the set I created. Can you just image a cute little teacup at each place setting as the women come in to your event?

Tea Cup Set Cup 1.1

The Time for Tea set makes it easy to create your own custom tea bag decorations! And, it's quick & easy too! I found this pretty tea cup at a thrift store years ago, so you can get them fairly inexpensively too! I hand cut my frame, but to speed things up even more there is a coordinating die to match that frame available!

Tea Cup Set Bag Side 1.1

And as a favor as the ladies head out the door, why not decorate a cute little glassine bag that is filled with flavored tea? What woman doesn't enjoy a little parting gift? For this bag I used the tiny teacup stamp from the Time for Tea set and the fun little sentiment from the same set. These bags would also be fun to fill with instant tea too for those who don't like hot tea.

I'll let you in on a little secret! My favorite drink right now is instant tea. I mix one package of Crystal Light Peach Tea with one package of Crystal Light Raspberry Green Tea together. It is SO good and refreshing! Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Are you up for some prizes? One lucky hopper will win 2 stamp sets and 1 die set from the Time For Tea line. To enter the drawing, simply leave a comment at EVERY stop along the hop!

Clearly Whimsy Release: Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to DAY 2 of the Clearly Whimsy Stamps release! I have the honor of Guest Designing this week!

Whimsy Stamps is releasing 6 new clear stamp sets and 6 coordinating die/die sets, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and Whimsy Stamps retailers TOMORROW.

Yesterday the team introduced HAPPY EVERYTHING and DISTRESSED BACKGROUND AND INK SPLATS, and today they are showcasing SMARTY PANTS and SCHOOL SPIRIT stamp sets and dies! Hop on over to the Whimsy blog to take a peek at the new products.

I am sharing using a set that you'll see more of tomorrow from the Design Team called Time for Tea & Time for Tea Additions and coordinating dies.

Everything Better

For this card I went in a totally different way with the set which hopefully shows its versatility. I used the banner stamps included in the Time for Tea sets for my background. I chose four ink colors and stamped my triangles in a random pattern, covering my card front.

Everything Better Closeup

I stamped my sentiment and then added the little tea bag (SO CUTE!!) and my favorite stamp in the entire set, the cute little lemons! They are so adorable!

Red White Blue Party 1.4

Using the banners again I created this card This time however I used them in the traditional way to make a homey, patriotic card. All that's missing is some fireworks and watermelon and we're ready for a party! To line up my banners I used a pencil and drew a line where I wanted them to go and then stamped. When my ink was fairly dry, I erased the line and had my row of banners nicely lined up.

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered into the draw:

Clearly Whimsy Release: Day 1

Hello!! I have some fun news to share!! I am Guest Designing with Whimsy Stamps this week for their newest release! I'm so excited to get to play along with these fabulous products!

Over the next 3 days the design team will reveal the new June 2014 Clearly Whimsy Stamps products. Whimsy Stamps is releasing 6 new clear stamp sets and 6 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday!

Today the team is revealing the HAPPY EVERYTHING 4x6 stamp set together with its coordinating die sets, PLUS the DISTRESSED BACKGROUNDS AND INK SPLATS 4x6 stamp set. Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

For my projects this week, I will share with you using a couple of stamp sets with coordinating dies that the rest of the team will share later in the week called Time for Tea & Time for Tea Additions!

A Cup of Thanks Bag

The first thing that came to me when I saw the stamps I received was that they are perfect to make gifts and gift bags with! With the Time for Tea & Time for Tea Additions set I created this tag for my bag.

A Cup of Thanks Bag Closeup

I stamped the beautiful scrolled banner with gold ink and also stamped the tea cut with gold ink as well after it had been die cut. Aren't the fonts for the sentiment so pretty?

You're My Cup Tea 1.1

Next up is a vintage styled card using the set. I stamped the large frame on vellum and then embossed it with pink embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment inside and also embossed it in gold ink. I always find it hard to adhere my vellum to my card, so for this one I used a sheet of vellum adhesive that covers almost the entire back of the frame and you can't see it at all! You can't tell from the picture, but after I colored the "tea" with my copics, I added glitter with my Spica pen on top!

PRIZE ALERT ... We have hidden a fabulous prize of a $15 GIFT CERTIFICATE at one of the stops on today’s hop! We will draw the lucky winner from the comments left on today’s design team posts (listed below), so be sure to visit everyone and leave a comment to be entered:

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Hey everyone! I am coming in here at the last minute to add a card for the PTI June Blog Hop Challenge. I loved the theme this month which was to create a card based on either the inspiration photo, sketch or color combo. I loved them all but chose to work with the inspiration photo.

Enjoy Butterfly Side

I loved the frames in the photo and so that is where I went with this card. Although there was a lot of color in the photo, there was also a lot of white which I really liked. I stamped my background frames with a Framed Out set and Tiny Tags. They were small enough to make my frames but not overwhelm the background and make it too distracting.

Enjoy Butterfly Closeup 2

I couldn't help but use those beautiful butterfly dies! This time I layered a white gingham vellum behind the yellow vellum. It almost looks like the butterfly is actually flying.

Here is the photo that this card is based on:

Can You Solve This Puzzle?

Hey everyone!! We just returned from a week of vacation! It was so nice to get away! We went to Branson, Missouri for the week and saw several shows including a new magic show, The Revollusionists which we all enjoyed and the Dixie Stampede! We've been at the Dixie Stampede three times now and it never gets old! What a great family time!

Now we are home and back into the busy schedule of things! We have swim lessons, t-ball games, Summer Music Camp and more on our schedule this week. Bring it on! We're ready!

Now back to all things crafty! I seem to struggle to make masculine cards. It's not because I can't, it's just that they aren't as much fun it seems - which is really just in my head, because they are just as much fun as any of the others really. But, I always NEED them and then don't have them on hand. I need to change that!

Solve This Puzzle Front

So with masculine in mind, I created this card. I love this fun stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs called Unscramble This! There are so many possibilities! AND it's great for young kids, adults, males & females! You know how much I like versatility!

Here's a close up of the tag. I love how the paper worked so perfectly for the tag and created a wonderful place to stamp the sentiments.

When you lift the Peek-a-boo die flap, this is the answer you find!

I'm linking this card up to the Retro Sketches Challenge #120, using the sketch below as inspiration. I changed it up just a tad.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful summer day!

Thanks in Watercolor

Hello! I'm back today with a super simple card that I made using a new Lil' Inker Designs brush stroke die. These new dies are wonderful!!

DSC00995

I started by painting my background with some watercolors. I actually used a set by crayola of all things, but I just loved the teal color in the set! I then brushed on some gold shimmer watercolors on top which is from a wonderful set that I picked up at Hobby Lobby with a coupon!

DSC00998

My "thanks" is die cut with DCWV glitter paper and then I stacked it on top of two other thanks die cuts to add the dimension. This is such a quick card when you need to whip out some thank yous!

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is to use paint on your card!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Crafty Peeps Card Kit So Cool!

Hi everyone! I hope your summer is going well! Today I am sharing a post with a couple cards made with the kit that my friend Leigh Penner sent for the Crafty Peeps Card Club! I loved the colors in this kit! It was a kit that called for some masculine cards, which I tend to need but never have on hand.

DSC00987

I knew as soon as I saw this paper that the first card I made had to use this paper in some way! Leigh also included this cute sentiment from Reverse Confetti that was begging to be paired with the fans!

DSC00992

I added in some enamel dots and a cute little wooden sprinkle from Jillibean Soup.

Another item that Leigh included in the kit that I knew I had to incorporate in a card were these cute wooden shapes. They worked well with the die cut sentiments (don't you love that "hello" from Simon Says Stamp?). I die cut the circles with Lil' Inker Designs Dual Stitched Circles dies.

I added in one of the buttons Leigh sent and some enamel dots.
Be sure to stop by Leigh's blog to see what her and her sweet daughter Sage put together!

I'm linking these cards up over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! The theme this week is Father's Day/Masculine Cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 3: Brush Word Dies

Hello! I am so excited to share this next post for Lil' Inker Designs release week with you! We have saved the best for last! If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Campbell's blog and if you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

Today you will see three new dies that haven't been previewed yet on the design team blogs. If you've checked out the store, then you've probably seen them there. Hot on the watercolor/brush script trend LID is introducing three new word dies: smile, thanks & hello!

hello wtmk

First up is "hello". This card couldn't have been simpler! I cut the hello out of watercolored paper and then again out of black paper and adhered them together so that the black made a little bit of a shadowed outline. I then adhered them to a piece of patterned paper and added enamel dots. SIMPLE!!

hello closeup wtmk

Isn't a brush script word die COOL!!?? Love it! And, glittered enamel dots aren't too shabby either, heehee!! And, can you believe that there is NO stamping on this card...or the next one either!

smile side wtmk

Next up is another simple card. I die cut the "smile" out of several pieces of cardstock. The turquoise smile I layered on top of two smiles that I had die cut from black cardstock to make it thicker and easier to pop up on the card.

Smile wtmk

I adhered the die cut smiles to patterned paper that was first die cut with a Stitched Mats Square die, added some enamel dots and a strip of colored cardstock across the card base and the card was done! Again, super simple but it packs a punch!

Thumbs w wtmrk

Moving in a different direction, I have one last card to share with you and this one uses the new Thumbs Up stamps. I stamped the thumbs and then added in some doodles from the Notebook Doodle stamp set. I stamped the sentiment, also from the set, at the bottom of the card. You can't see it in this picture, but I went over the stars and hearts with a Wink of Stella glitter pen. This is such a fun and unique stamp set! It makes great masculine cards too as I'm sure you've seen from the other design team members the last few days.

Well, that's all for me today! Don't forget to leave a comment to win! The more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning! There's plenty more inspiration to see using these sets today! Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Thanks again for stopping by and for leaving your sweet comments the last few days!
