Wonderful Christmas

Hey everyone!  I hope you are all doing well!  It has been so cold here in Kansas this week!  Brrrr!!
And that seems like the perfect time to share a Christmas card!!  I can't believe we are less than a month away from Christmas!  The time has FLOWN!

wonderful Christmas 1.1

I think I mentioned recently, how much I LOVE the new die from Lil' Inker Designs called "On the Diagonal"!  This thing has so many uses!  I created this card with that die.  I started with two rectangles that I die cut from the LID Stitched Mats: Rectangles in different patterned papers.  I then used the On the Diagonal die to cut those both apart.  I love how there are two different patterned papers featured now.

Wonderful Christmas Closeup

I embossed the sentiment onto a chalkboard background that was stamped with the Hero Arts Chalkboard Background stamp that I love. I then added some reddish enamel dots and Shimmer twine from the Twinery to tie it all together.  I really like how the colors on this card all worked together.  That dark green cardstock is Pinefeather from PTI and it is the FIRST time I've ever used it that I can recall and I've had it for a long, long time! :)

I'm going to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"!

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope you are staying nice & warm!  Have a good day!

My Favorite: On the Diagonal!

Welcome to the wrap-up of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  I still have a few new products to share with you today and one of them is my FAVORITE of the entire release!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Tracey McNeely! Hasn't she done awesome this week!  I have so enjoyed seeing her creations and how she has used these products!! Thank you so much for joining us Tracey! If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.

Mehndi Birthday

The first card I have to share with you today features a new stamp set called Modern Mehndi.  It has beautiful intricate flowers & leaves and fun sentiments too.  I embossed the flowers and leaves on black cardstock and it created a stunning background.  I love how it pops.  I used another new die, my FAVORITE from this release called On the Diagonal to create that diagonal corner.

Let me tell you a little bit about this fabulous die...

It doesn't look like much does it?  When I first got it, I wasn't even sure how to use it.  Once I figured it out, I couldn't STOP using it!  I don't know about you, but I struggle to cut two diagonal strips the same size, at the same angle.  It should be so easy, but it never turns out just right.  This die takes care of that!  It take the guess work out of it.  And...you can make the pieces big or little, depending on what style you are looking for.  You can use just the die piece itself, of you can cut 2 pieces a part and use the 2 negative pieces.  It's awesome!

AND...it cuts that wonderful LID stitching!!  You can't get THAT by just using a paper cutter!

So, for this card, I used the On the Diagonal die to cut a triangle border for my card (starting first with one of the Stitched Mats: Rectangle dies to create 2 sides of the triangle). LOVE this option!  I really like seeing that stitching all the way around the triangle!  It is such a simple, yet striking detail.  I popped the triangle panel up with pop dots and then added the strip of cardstock with the sentiment from the previously released Flags & Tags Stamp Set.  I tied a piece of Gunmetal twine from The Twinery to finish it off.

This last card showcases the new Modern Mehndi dies & the new Stitched Mat: Ovals dies

Mendi Diagonal Gorgeous

I started my card base with gray corners created using the On the Diagonal dies again.  I cut the Stitched Mats: Rectangle piece and then I cut that in 3 pieces with the diagonal die.  That created the triangle corners on the card.

I die cut several of the Mehndi flowers from patterned paper and then stamped them with the coordinating Modern Mehndi flower stamps.   I layered the die cut flowers to create 3D flowers and also added the leaves (I really like the leaf shape!).  I die cut one of the ovals from the new Stitched Mats: Ovals and then stamped the sentiment from the Modern Mehndi stamp set.

On a sad note, we are saying goodbye to two of our designers,  Isha Gupta & Taheerah Atchia.  I have enjoyed having them on the LID team and getting to know them each a little bit better.  It's sad to see them go, but please be sure to continue to visit their blogs!

That wraps up our release!  Thank you so much for joining me this week!  I'll be back next week to show you another project created with these new projects!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Falling Leaves = Joy

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  There are lots of fun products being released this month and I've heard a lot of great feedback that you are liking what you've been seeing!

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest designer's blog Tracey McNeely! Did you see what she created yesterday?  It was adorable! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us today!   If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog.  There are prizes up for grabs so be sure to leave comments on the blog posts!

I love Autumn & Spring!  The neutral temps...not too cold, not too hot.  The beautiful changing colors on the trees.  I love when the streets are filled with colorful leaves, undisturbed.  They are just so beautiful!  My card today found inspiration in those changing and falling leaves.

Leaves of Joy

I used a similar concept to what I used on the card I showed yesterday on this card.  First I cut the new Cover Up Die: Leaf  Pattern out of some fabulous new mint green/turquoise cardstock that I can't put down (here's a fair warning that you will be seeing it A LOT on my blog!!). I cut different patterned papers and replaced some of the leaves with the patterns.  I love how some of the leaves on this die are stitched in typical LID fashion!

Leaves of Joy Closeup

I cut the "joy" (have I said how much I like that die??) in black and then added a black strip to ground it.  I love the contrast that the black adds to the card, especially against that mint/turquoise  green.    I added a black rhinestone for the dot on the "j".  Can you believe that there is NO stamping on this card!! That doesn't happen for me very often!

(this "joy" die was released last month)

Thank you so much for joining me today!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog

Swirling Around with Lil' Inker Designs

Welcome to another Lil' Inker Designs release!! There are some products that you're going to LOVE in this release that I'm excited to share with you!

The wind has been blowing HARD today here in Kansas and the leaves are swirling around all over the place!  It seems like the perfect time to introduce a new LID Cover Up Die to you called  Cover Up Die: Swirls.

If you are following along in the blog hop, you should have come from our guest desinger's blog Tracey McNeelyIf you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit Laura's blog

You are a Blessing

I love the options that are available with this die!  I chose to paper piece the cover up die this time using a combination of cardstock and patterned paper.  That sentiment is from a new stamp set called Modern Mehndi.  I used the previously released Folding Tag Die: Original for the tag and impressed part of a circle from Stitched Mats: Circles into the tag to create a place for the sentiment.  I just think that this cover up die is so original and fun!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize from the LID store!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

Caring Hearts Card Drive

Hey everyone!  I am here with a very special post today for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  If you are following along in the hop, you should have come from my Lil' Inker Designs team member Isha Gupta's blog!  This drive is to collect holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes.  With the holidays quickly approaching, there are many elderly who live in these homes who really feel lonely or are missing their family. Wouldn't it be so awesome if we can bring a smile to their face & brighten their holiday season simply by sharing our love of card making? A simple gesture to let them know that they are not forgotten.

This is especially personal to me this year as my Grandma is sitting in a nursing home at this very minute.  And my faithful and loving Grandpa sits with her, every day, even though she cannot respond to him.  He's my hero.  So for them, for me, this is personal!  I'm so thankful that I can be a part of this this year!

For all the details on the card drive, you can visit Vera Yate's blog.

I created a holiday card for this drive using lots of Lil' Inker Designs goodies.

Joy 1.2

I started by making the chalkboard background and then I diecut the Joy word die from the mat.   I stamped some snowflakes from the Winter Greetings Stamp Set & the  Jolly & Joyful stamp sets.  The holly leaves were die cut with the Holly Jolly dies.  And last,l I tied a little piece of Platinum Shimmer Twine from the Twinery to the front.

What do you say?  Do you like to craft?  Do your kids like to craft?  Why not send some cards for this drive and be a blessing to someone who needs some love this Holiday season!

For details on how to participate, visit this post.

There are a lot of prizes for this hop (and even bigger prizes for the card drive itself)!  Winners will be selected from comments left on the participant's blogs (randomly), so the more blogs you comment on, the bigger your chances of winning will be!
