Bravo! Hooray! Happy Birthday!

Hello and welcome to my blog today!  I wanted to share a fun and colorful card using some of the latest Frantic Stamper dies and stamps from the Summer Carnival Fun line.

Bravo! Hooray! Happy Birthday Card

Jen Carter Circus Skyline Tent Bday 1

The latest release from Frantic Stamper has some fun new and unique dies and stamps that revolve around a circus & carnival theme.  For this card I used the Circus Tent die that has so many mix & match possibilities.   Of course my tent needed to be bright & colorful, lol!  Once I assembled the tent I die cut the Carnival Skyline in black to place behind it.  For the sentiment I die cut one piece from another new die called the Stitched Notched Oval Frame Die Set.  I used this piece for my sentiment and stamped & embossed sentiments from new clear Circus Stamp Set & from the previously released Many Happy Birthdays stamp set.

I'm entering this card in the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thank you so much for joining me today!

For Lovely You

Jen Carter Mason Jar Flowers Patriotic Lovely You

Today I am playing along with the Fusion Card Challenge.  I knew when I first saw the Lil' Inker Designs Jar of Flowers Stamp set that it wouldn't be long before I made patterned Mason jars with the stamps & dies. I die cut the jar with the Jar of Flowers Die set and then stamped the outline with the coordinating stamp set.  I wanted to add flowers but didn't want them to be inside the jar so I die cut and stamped the flowers from the same set and added them onto the jar as decoration.  The little blue & gray flowers are the same die and same stamp so you can see how you can get quite a different look using the same stamp.

I attached the jar to two pieces of layered printed papers that I die cut with the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flags die set.  To finish the card off I tied some twine around the lid of the jar and added some enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by!

Today I have two more cards to share with you.

Card #1: Hi
I used a technique on this first card that I have used before, but I love the look.

Jen Carter Polka Dotted Hi 12 wm

I started by cutting thin strips of colored cardstock and then adhered them to a piece of scrap paper.  I then die cut the white panel with one of the Dual Dotted Rectangle Dies. I took the new Hi Word Die and die cut it out of the white panel and then tucked the striped paper behind it.  I adhered the entire panel with dimensional tape to Bella Blvd patterned paper.

Card #2: You are Sweet & Lovely
I just love these large sentiment sets that Lil' Inker has released lately!  They are so fun and you can fill up an entire card front with them if you'd like so they can make quick & easy cards too!

Jen Carter You Sweet Lovely Rainbow 2 wm

You probably know how much I like to use lots of color, and I thought that this particular stamp set would look great in a rainbow of color!  This stamp set is called Lovely & Sweet but I turned that around to create a sweet & lovely card. :) On this particular card I used 8 stamps.  I lined them all up on my Misti in the order I wanted them and then stamped each color individually.  I used the same layout, still on my Misti, to create four other cards at the same time too. I'll share those at a different time.  Super easy but such wonderful end results!

Lil' Inker Designs June Release: Day 2 & Sale

Welcome to day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Release!  All of the products being shown today are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Hoffman's blog.

Did you hear about the sale?
The sale only goes through June 18th so be sure to take advantage of it soon!

Card #1 Inspiration
When I first pulled out the new Jar of Flowers Stamp set with coordinating Jar of Flowers Dies, I knew I wanted to create at least one card based on those adorable pins I've seen in the past where the artist had painted Mason Jars and then painted faces on them.  Here's an example that I based this card on:

(Unfortunately the link on Pinterest only goes to the picture, not the blog post so I don't know who to credit.  If you know the source, I'd love to add it to my post!)

I decided to create my card with the same colors and same theme and the card below is what came of it all.

Jen Carter Mason Jar Faces Whoops Birthday 1 wm

I started by die cutting four of the jars from the Jar of Flowers Dies.  I then used the jar outline stamp from the Jar of Flowers Stamp set to emboss the outline.  I enjoyed looking through my various LID stamps to find different faces for my jars!  I used the Piece of Me Stamp set (pink), Kitty Hugger Stamp Set (yellow), Boo & Faces and So Prickly (aqua) & So Prickly again (purple).

After stamping the faces I attached them with dimensional tape to a piece I had embossed with the new Quilted Stitched Basket Weave die.  The sentiment is die cut with the new Whoops Word die & then stamped with the Whoops stamp set.

Card #2
For my second card today I used a new beautiful stamp set, Blossoms & Banners, and the coordinating die, Blossoms & Banners die set.

Jen Carter Blossoms Banners Thinking You 1 wm

I started this card by diecutting the white & purple cardstocks with the Quilted Stitched Basket Weave die.  I cut small strips of the purple to use as accents on my white card.  I then die cut the banner with the Blossoms & Banners die set and stamped the coordinating image with the Blossoms & Banners Stamp Set.  I colored the images with my copics & added Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen over the top for some fine glitter. I finished the card off by adding some white glitter enamel dots.

Jen Carter Blossoms Banners Thinking You wm

I also added a strip of purple cardstock die cut with the Quilted Stitched Basket Weave die on the inside of my card that you can see a peek of here.

I have two cards to share today.

Card #1:
First up is this bright, summery card using an adorable new stamp set called I'll be Brief. There is also a coordinating die set, I'll Be Brief dies

Jen Carter Diamond Hi Briefs Bear 1 wm

I die cut the cute brief-wearing bear, embossed him & then colored him non-traditional bear colors with my Zig markers. I also die cut the new Hi Word Die out of patterned paper to place the bear, with dimensional tape, on top of.  I love the size of the new Hi die!  I stamped the sentiment, also included in the I'll be Brief Stamp Set, on a mat that I had die cut with the previously released Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles Dies. To create the background, I die cut the new Cover Up Die: Diamond Chevron (which you can earn free with a qualified purchase, details below!!).

Card #2:
I used most of these same products to create a different look on this next card.

Jen Carter I'll Be Brief Diamond Chevron Birthday 2 wm

I die cut the Cover Up Die: Diamond Chevron again but this time in several different colors and then placed the pieces where I wanted them.  I then die cut a piece of black & white striped paper with the Color Blocking Die and placed it on top with dimensional tape. I die cut all three of the cute animals with the I'll Be Brief dies and stamped them with the coordinating images from the I'll be Brief Stamp Set.  I colored them with copics.  I die cut the smallest Pinking Edge Sentiment Flags from yellow cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the I'll be Brief Stamp Set.

Jen Carter I'll Be Brief Diamond Chevron Birthday 3 wm

I cut off part of the bear & rhino so that they would tuck under the diagonal piece and then die cut the balloon string from the Love You More Hearts & Balloons die set and the balloon from the Balloon Dies to make it look like the bear was holding the balloon.

Stamping with Water & Distress Oxide Inks (Video) 3

Hello Friends!  Today I have a technique to share with you on using water to stamp with Distress Oxide Inks.

Jen Carter Ferris Wheel Ticket Sun bday

For the card above, I used Frantic Stamper's new Sun Rays 6x6 Background Rubber Stamp to create the yellow sunny background.  It is easy to do (video tutorial below) and fun to see the results!  The ink I used for this card was Catherine Pooler's Tiara (dye ink) in the middle and Distress Oxide Ink Spiced Marmalade.  I blended those colors onto the background and then "inked" my rubber stamp up with water.  Yes...water!  Then I stamped and this is the result that you get!

I used the Ferris Wheel die for the main image.  I love that the little chairs are a separate die so that it is easy to mix & match!  I die cut the tickets with the new Tickets die.  A fun feature to this die is that it perforates in between each ticket so you can tear the tickets off to make an even more realistic looking ticket.  I stamped the sentiment with the new clear Life is a Carnival Stamp Set.

To see how easy it is to make a background like this, please view my video below.

I hope that the video helps to show how easy it is to create your own unique backgrounds!

Jen Carter Sun Ray Carnival Tickets 1

Here is a card I made using one of the backgrounds you saw in the video.  For this one I used Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet & Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Inks and water.  I again die cut the Tickets die in three different colors and stamped the sentiment and outline with the Life is a Carnival Stamp Set.

Jen Carter Sun Ray Carnival Tickets Closeup

When the background was dry, I added part of the Carnival Skyline as a silhouette in black. The Ticket Booth was fun to put together mixing and matching different bright carnival like colors. The little purple star banner was stamped with the new clear Circus Stamp Set.  I added glitter enamel dots on the ticket canopy to look like lights

Be sure to check out the entire new line of Frantic Stamper's 6x6 red rubber background stamps!  You can see them all HERE.  And, if you'd like to check out the Distress Oxide Inks you can find those in the Frantic Stamper store too.
