CIC382 Jen Carter

As soon as I saw the inspiration photo for this color challenge I knew right away what I wanted to create!  I pulled out many dies from my stash to create this fun card!  I started by creating his eyes using Dual Stitched Mats: Circles. I love the stitching around the circles to provide more detail. I also used 1/2 of a circle from the same die to create his nose and then I cut it in half.  The black part of his eyes were made using the smallest Fringe Scallop Circle die.  I "fluffed up" the scallops to add some more detail.  The inside of the eye was made from a piece of the Baubled Christmas Tree Die!  It was the perfect size for the inside!  The sentiments are from Boo & Faces Stamps and Clean Lines: For the Guys.

For the hair & mouth I used the same die set, Border Builders.  I cut the mouth twice to get the dual stitching.

Here's this week's inspiration photo with the challenge colors.

DSC_155Jen Carter All Christmas Need Good Night 3 wm

I went with a bold color scheme for this one!  Since I was going with a night theme I also wanted to bring yellow into the card to show stars and moonlight.  I started by die cutting the white watercolored panel using the Dual Dotted Squares Die set.  I then used my Zig Real Brush pens to watercolor the background.  I stamped that fun script sentiment from the follow up stamp set called All the Christmas You'll Ever Need 2.  The blue background for the card was simply made by die cutting the Cover Up Plate: Diamond Lace and then backing it with bright yellow cardstock.

Jen Carter Tis the Season 1 wm

For my last card I used the gorgeous new Tis the Season Stamp Set.  I embossed the image with gold glitter embossing powder onto a vellum panel that had been die cut using the Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles die set (I used the same set to die cut around the outside edge of the card as well).

After embossing, I colored the vellum on the back side with copics to give it just a subtle hint of color.  Then, I embossed the sentiment in red and tied the panel to the card with shimmer twine from The Twinery.

Lil' Inker Designs Christmas Release: Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs Christmas Release!  All of the products being shown today are currently available in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from my friend Amy Kolling's blog.

Today I have three cards to share.

Jen Carter Rustic Bear Believe wm

The first card uses two of my favorite products from this release!  I again pulled out the Rustic Christmas stamp set & the Rustic Christmas die set to make the trees and that adorable bear that I colored with copics.  I added the little stocking hat from the set and put a tiny pom pom on top.  The stars are also included in the set.  I die cut the beautiful Believe from the Brush Script Christmas Word Die Set.  I put all of that on top of a Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag die that was cut from vellum.

Jen Carter Baubled Wreath Merry Christmas Border wm

I love non-traditional Christmas colors and that is what inspired this card.  I started by die cutting the Baubled Christmas Wreath in several colors of cardstock, including the white to serve as my frame.  I inserted the various colors into the holes and added some sequins along the way.  The Merry Christmas Border Die is also new and an easy way to add a sentiment.  For my mat I used a Silly Stitched Die to add some pattern around the sides.

Jen Carter Christmas Flower Tree Christmas Word 1 wm

For my last card I decided on a shaker card. I used the smallest Stitched Christmas Trees Die to cut out the shape in the card front.  I then used that as a template to stamp & emboss the coordinating tree image from the Filled Christmas Tree Stamp Set.  The cool thing about this stamp set is that you can use the large Christmas tree images to stamp both sizes of Christmas trees, large and small!  Just ink up only the top part if you'd like a shorter tree or the whole stamp for a large tree!  It also includes two sizes of tree trunks as well!  That beautiful sentiment is another new die called Merry Christmas Word die.

Here is a shot where you can see the embossed image inside of the tree better.  It was hard to capture in the photo.  It has so much beautiful detail!

Today, I have 2 cards to share.

So...let's start with my absolute FAVORITE set of the release!  It was the first set I started playing with and also the last because I couldn't put it down!

Jen Carter Rustic Christmas Joy Car wm

This card was made with one stamp set called Rustic Christmas.  Oh. My. Word.  I LOVE this set so much!  And I can totally see it being used year round, not just for Christmas.  I first stamped my houses where I wanted them, masking off as I needed.  I then die cut the houses, car, tree & star with the Rustic Christmas die set and colored the images in with copics.  I added the stitched hills using the Border Builders Die Set.   Love how it all turned out!

Jen Carter Moody Santa Puppy 4 wm

My second card features another fun(ny) set in true Lil' Inker style called Moody Santa.  I die cut the Santa using the coordinating Moody Santa die, stamped the image and then colored it with copics.  For the banner, I die cut it using the Vintage Ink die and then stamped the coordinating image from the Vintage Ink Stamp Set.  The sentiment is from the Moody Santa stamp set.  For the background I thought it would be fun to show a BIG RED X!  So I pulled out the Cover Up Die: Center Point Chevron and paper pieced the red polka dotted paper into the "x" pattern.

The Lil' Inker Design products I've used on these cards are listed & linked below:

All of the Lil' Inker products that I've used (and more!) are available to purchase right now in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  Your next stop on the blog hop is over to Heather Hoffman's blog!

Meet Tom the Turkey

Jen Carter Fall Harvest Tom Turkey 1

Hi everyone!  Today's card features a fun patterned turkey! If you are looking for Fall dies that are unique and original look no further!  I started this card by die cutting the background which is Frantic Stamper's Fall Harvest Panel die.  I then used the adorable Tom Turkey die and paper pieced with fun patterns!  He's so adorable! :)  To finish off the card I used the Thankful Word die for my sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #381

Welcome to the next Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #381!  This week the challenge is to use a get well theme on your card.  All of the details, including prize information, can be found on the Cupcakes Inspiration blog.  I hope you'll be able to play along! This week our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

CIC381 Jen Carter

I had the A Little Sketchy Nurse digital image from Bugaboo to play with.  I decided to keep the card super CAS to keep the focus on the image.  I colored her in with my copic markers and added a little enamel heart to the sentiment.  I used my Silly Stitched Die to create the stitch around the card which I felt matched the sketchy feel of the image.

The theme this week is "Get Well".  You can choose to use the cupcake graphic for inspiration if you'd like but you don't have to, as long as your card or project fits the theme.

I hope you'll join us this week for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #381!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #380

Welcome to the next Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #380!  This week the challenge is to use the provided color scheme (shown below) on your card or project.  Our sponsor this week and the prize is from Waffle Flower.  All of the details, including prize information, can be found on the Cupcakes Inspiration blog.  I hope you'll play along!

CIC380 Jen Carter

For this card I pulled out some fun Christmas dies from Frantic Stamper.  I thought it would be fun to make a shaped card, so I used the Stitched Bracket Labels die set to make the card base.  To build the ornament, I started by die cutting the Round Ornament Background die from vellum.  I then cut a hill with the Stitched Scene Builder Edgers die that was cut from polka dotted vellum.

I then used the Wreath & Swag Components die set, that I LOVE, to create the decorations on the inside of the ornament using the provided color scheme.  The sentiment comes from the Round Christmas Vignettes stamp set.

Here's this week's inspiration photo with the challenge colors.

Be Brave

Today is a good day!  I get to go here!

Oh how I love these yearly craft getaways!  So fun!  And we've all agreed to NO political talk!  YEA!  Lol!

Jen Carter Pumpkin Spiderweb Brave 1

For today's card I pulled out my Zig Real Brush Markers to color the Pumpkin Edger die from Frantic Stamper.

Jen Carter Pumpkin Spiderweb Brave

I also used the Spiderweb Border for this barn scene that I cut out of polka dotted vellum.  I added the dangling spider from the Spiderweb Corner & Spider die set.

I hope you have a great day!

Boo! on at Stick

Hey everyone!  Today I have a fun Halloween project to share using products from Lil' Inker Designs latest release.

Jen Carter Ghost Boo Stick 2

For this project I wanted to do something a little different.  I made the ghost by taking a book and wrapping white, sparkly yarn around it 30 or so times.  Then I slid the yarn off, tied it with a knot in the middle and cut the loops off of the ends.  Then, I took a small foam ball (I bought a package from the dollar store for $1) and put some hot glue on it and put the yarn on top.  I trimmed the ends after that to even it up and then added some googly eyes and twine.

For the tag I used the Speech Bubbles 2 Die and then attached the Boo Word Die from the Halloween Word Tag die set that had been cut from purple glitter foam.  I attached that to a toothpick and poked it into the foam ball.

Jen Carter Ghost Boo Stick Package 1

My 2nd project is very similiar but this time I put the little ghost inside a Halloween treat bag.  I made the ghost with the same instructions as above, adding an orange bow for the ghost's head.

This time I created a tag from the Wonky Rectangles dies.  I added the EEK Word Die from the Halloween Word Tag die set and then stamped the sentiment from the Batty Hugger Stamp Bundle.  To insert the ghost into the bag I used my Big Bite to punch a hole in the bag and then inserted it.  There are candies inside the bag.
