Fishing Fly's Perfect Match

Hey everyone!  Frantic Stamper had a mini release at the end of last week that included some great masculine dies & stamps, focusing on fishing.   Today's card features a couple of dies from that release.

Jen Carter Fly Fishing Match Front

For this card I thought it would be fun to go away from the typical fishing for men mindset.  I know a lot of women who also enjoy fishing (I'm not one of them, lol!).  So I paired those two themes together for this card.

For the men's fishing die I used the Large Fishing Fly die and for the women's I used one from a smaller set called Fishing Fly Assortment.  To make them look more like fishing lures since I used patterned paper, I tied some twine around each of them and then hung them with actual fishing line that I purchased at Walmart years ago (the lighting on the card makes it photograph weird).  The sentiment is from a previously released stamp set called Puzzle Me.

Thanks for joining me today!  Have a blessed day!

Jen Carter Father's Day Papa Front wm

I really like this new masculine set called Clean Lines: For the Guys stamps.  I love that there are options to stamp Papa (because that is what my kids call their grandpa!), Grampy, Pop, Dad, Brother, Grandpa, Husband, -in-law, Father & Uncle!  I mean seriously, how many stamp sets do you see with those options?  LOVE it!  For this card, I used most of the images in the set and lined them up on a block and stamped each row starting in a different spot each time.  I went back later and added the red needle on the fuel tank.

The two strips of paper on the bottom are from a FUN new paper line from Lil' Inker called Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  So many great pattern & color options in this pack! If you are a paper junky like me, you'll love it!  To create the tag I die cut one of the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag dies and stamped a pattern from the Tribal Chic stamp set on the top & bottom.  The sentiment is stamped from the Clean Lines: For the Guys stamps.  I die cut the wrench from the Clean Lines: For the Guys die set and then stamped the coordinating image & popped it up.

Jen Carter Thanks so much Tribal Front 3 wm

My last card today uses some more patterns from the Tribal Chic Paper Pack that I've adhered on top of a piece of white cardstock that I've embossed the new Cover Up Die: Tribal Chic into.  It gives the Cover Up Die a softer look.

Jen Carter Thanks so much Tribal Closeup 3

I die cut two of the Dual Stitched Triangle Dies and then used the Cover Up Die: Tribal Chic to die cut the pattern into them.  You can see the difference in this closeup between embossing with this die and die cutting with the die.  The sentiment is from the Vintage Label Sentiment set that I've embossed in white.

Jen Carter Vintage Flower Frame Friend Front 1 wm

Today's card is featuring several new items from Lil' Inker Designs.  The flowers were die cut with the Vintage Flowers dies & then stamped with the coordinating Vintage Flower stamps.  I used the new Vintage Label die and the coordinating Vintage Label Sentiment Stamps to create the sentiment & frame.

The grouping of flowers & labels was adhered to a panel that I had die cut with the Cover Up Die: Center Point Chevron.

The Bestest Ever! Lil' Inker Release Day 1

Hello!  It's time for a new Lil' Inker Designs release! The new products are already available in the  Lil' Inker Designs store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Sarah Jay's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!  Today, I have 2 projects to share.

Jen Carter Bunny Flying Kite Tent 2 wm

First up is this super, super cute Kite Flying Stamp set & Kite Flying Dies (plus several other new products that I'll tell you about as well)!  I die cut the bunny & kite and then colored the bunny's fur with copics.  The dress on the bunny is a stamp that is included in the set!  I love this option so much!  I stamped the kite & the sentiment also from the same stamp set.  That adorable fringy border?  That is a new die too!  It is from a set of dies called the Fringed Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  Totally adorable! You can leave the scallops flat or pop them up like I've done here.  I also used a Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles Die to create the frame & to allow the stitching on the inside of the frame.

Jen Carter Bunny Flying Kite Tent Closeup 1

The tent was created using another new die set Dual Stitched Triangles.  I used the largest one as the main part of the tent and then cut the smallest triangle in 1/2 to create the entrance to the tent.  This worked well because it stitched the dual stitching onto the tent which adds to the design.  The grassy hill was cut with a previously released die called Border Builders Die Set.

A quick note about the Kite Flying Dies.  The dies that the customer will receive will cut closer to the image than what the sample dies do that the Design Team are using.

Jen Carter So Chic Tribal Front wm

This card uses a fun new building stamp set called Tribal Chic that offers so many fun options.  I started by stamping some of the background strips onto a mat that I had die cut with one of the Silly Stitched dies.  These stamps can be used individually or grouped together to make lots of different borders.

Jen Carter So Chic Tribal Closeup

I die cut the largest new Dual Stitched Triangles die and two of the smallest triangles from the same set.  I stamped the sentiment and diamonds from Tribal Chic and embossed.  For the patterned paper I used a piece of Ombre Stripes.

All of the Lil' Inker products that I've used (and more!) are available to purchase right now in the Lil' Inker Designs store!  Your next stop on the blog hop is over to Lisa Henke's blog!

Special Day!

Today's card is for the women in your life who like to be in the kitchen.

Jen Carter Kitchen Special Front 2

I wanted this card to be very feminine so I pulled out the doily to use as a background for the images.  I used several new dies for the images including the Retro Toaster (isn't it fun in pink polka dots!!), Tea Kettle & Coffee Pot, Cutlery (knife) & Silverware (spoon).

My card was inspired by this fun image:

I stamped the sentiment from the new stamp set Motherly Love!  The frame was die cut with Elementals #1.

Love ya!

Welcome!  I hope you are having a good day!  Today's card is a super simple one!

Jen Carter Fresh Florals Love Front 22

I started with the patterned paper and then worked my design around it.  I used the flowers from the Lil' Inker Designs Fresh Cut Flowers stamps & Fresh Cut Flowers die set.  The sentiment is from the Bunny Hugger Die Stamp Bundle.

Jen Carter Fresh Florals Love Closeup 1

I just LOVE these flowers from the Fresh Cut Flowers stamps set!  They can be used in so many ways!

I'm entering this card in the AAA  Cards #62 Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S.  New Lil' Inker Designs release is coming next Monday!  :)

Embossing Backgrounds with Dies + Video

Hello!  Today I have a card & video to share using die cut card panels as a way to create embossed frames & backgrounds on cards. I LOVE finding ways to get more use out of my stamping supplies! Using a die to cut & emboss is a wonderful way to get more bang for your buck!  It makes the dies so versatile!

First up is a photo of the card I put together in the video.

Jen Carter Embossed Hugs Front

I've used the Floral Eye Dazzler Card Panel Die to emboss the image onto the white background piece.  I LOVE how this looks on the white paper!  And the neat thing is that the back side of this paper looks equally cool only different (you can see that in the video).  I used the Scribble Roses dies to create the flower and the cute "hugs" sentiment is from the Accessory Words #3 die set.

Check out my video on how to create a background like this using the card panel background dies from Frantic Stamper!

Here's a closeup of the background:

Jen Carter Embossed Hugs Closeup

Don't you love all of that detail...from a die!?  It makes the die that much more versatile!

Jen Carter Wheelbarrow Friends Flowers

Next up is this card that I created using the same technique only this time I've layered on top of it so only the edges peek out.  To create the card I've used the Instant Camera 3x4 Photo Card die & the Wooden Wheelbarrow die.  The flowers are die cut from the Singing in the Rain die set.

You can see a closeup here.  I've used the Basket Weave Card Panel die to create the embossed frame.

The sentiment is from the Scribble Flowers #2 set.

Thanks for joining me today!

Have a great day!
